Salmos 73
|
| A Psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, [Even] to such as are pure in heart. | Verdadeiramente bom é Deus para com Israel, para com os limpos de coração. |
| But as for me, my feet were almost gone; My steps had well nigh slipped. | Quanto a mim, os meus pés quase resvalaram; pouco faltou para que os meus passos escorregassem. |
| For I was envious at the arrogant, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked. | Pois eu tinha inveja dos soberbos, ao ver a prosperidade dos ímpios. |
| For there are no pangs in their death; But their strength is firm. | Porque eles não sofrem dores; são e robusto é o seu corpo. |
| They are not in trouble as [other] men; Neither are they plagued like [other] men. | Não se acham em tribulações como outra gente, nem são afligidos como os demais homens. |
| Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; Violence covereth them as a garment. | Pelo que a soberba lhes cinge o pescoço como um colar; a violência os cobre como um vestido. |
| Their eyes stand out with fatness: They have more than heart could wish. | Os olhos deles estão inchados de gordura; trasbordam as fantasias do seu coração. |
| They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression: They speak loftily. | Motejam e falam maliciosamente; falam arrogantemente da opressão. |
| They have set their mouth in the heavens, And their tongue walketh through the earth. | Põem a sua boca contra os céus, e a sua língua percorre a terra. |
| Therefore his people return hither: And waters of a full [cup] are drained by them. | Pelo que o povo volta para eles e não acha neles falta alguma. |
| And they say, How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High? | E dizem: Como o sabe Deus? e: Há conhecimento no Altíssimo? |
| Behold, these are the wicked; And, being alway at ease, they increase in riches. | Eis que estes são ímpios; sempre em segurança, aumentam as suas riquezas. |
| Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, And washed my hands in innocency; | Na verdade que em vão tenho purificado o meu coração e lavado as minhas mãos na inocência, |
| For all the day long have I been plagued, And chastened every morning. | pois todo o dia tenho sido afligido, e castigado cada manhã. |
| If I had said, I will speak thus; Behold, I had dealt treacherously with the generation of thy children. | Se eu tivesse dito: Também falarei assim; eis que me teria havido traiçoeiramente para com a geração de teus filhos. |
| When I thought how I might know this, It was too painful for me; | Quando me esforçava para compreender isto, achei que era tarefa difícil para mim, |
| Until I went into the sanctuary of God, And considered their latter end. | até que entrei no santuário de Deus; então percebi o fim deles. |
| Surely thou settest them in slippery places: Thou castest them down to destruction. | Certamente tu os pões em lugares escorregadios, tu os lanças para a ruína. |
| How are they become a desolation in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. | Como caem na desolação num momento! ficam totalmente consumidos de terrores. |
| As a dream when one awaketh, So, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou wilt despise their image. | Como faz com um sonho o que acorda, assim, ó Senhor, quando acordares, desprezarás as suas fantasias. |
| For my soul was grieved, And I was pricked in my heart: | Quando o meu espírito se amargurava, e sentia picadas no meu coração, |
| So brutish was I, and ignorant; I was [as] a beast before thee. | estava embrutecido, e nada sabia; era como animal diante de ti. |
| Nevertheless I am continually with thee: Thou hast holden my right hand. | Todavia estou sempre contigo; tu me seguras a mão direita. |
| Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, And afterward receive me to glory. | Tu me guias com o teu conselho, e depois me receberás em glória. |
| Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides thee. | A quem tenho eu no céu senão a ti? e na terra não há quem eu deseje além de ti. |
| My flesh and my heart faileth; [But] God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever. | A minha carne e o meu coração desfalecem; do meu coração, porém, Deus é a fortaleza, e o meu quinhão para sempre. |
| For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: Thou hast destroyed all them that play the harlot, [departing] from thee. | Pois os que estão longe de ti perecerão; tu exterminas todos aqueles que se desviam de ti. |
| But it is good for me to draw near unto God: I have made the Lord Jehovah my refuge, That I may tell of all thy works. | Mas para mim, bom é aproximar-me de Deus; ponho a minha confiança no Senhor Deus, para anunciar todas as suas obras. |
