| И продолжал Елиуй и сказал: | And Elihu went on to say, |
| подожди меня немного, и я покажу тебе, что я имею еще что сказать за Бога. | Give me a little more time, and I will make it clear to you; for I have still something to say for God. |
| Начну мои рассуждения издалека и воздам Создателю моему справедливость, | I will get my knowledge from far, and I will give righteousness to my Maker. |
| потому что слова мои точно не ложь: пред тобою--совершенный в познаниях. | For truly my words are not false; one who has all knowledge is talking with you. |
| Вот, Бог могуществен и не презирает сильного крепостью сердца; | Truly, God gives up the hard-hearted, and will not give life to the sinner. |
| Он не поддерживает нечестивых и воздает должное угнетенным; | His eyes are ever on the upright, and he gives to the crushed their right; |
| Он не отвращает очей Своих от праведников, но с царями навсегда посаждает их на престоле, и они возвышаются. | Lifting them up to the seat of kings, and making them safe for ever. |
| Если же они окованы цепями и содержатся в узах бедствия, | And if they have been prisoned in chains, and taken in cords of trouble, |
| то Он указывает им на дела их и на беззакония их, потому что умножились, | Then he makes clear to them what they have done, even their evil works in which they have taken pride. |
| и открывает их ухо для вразумления и говорит им, чтоб они отстали от нечестия. | Their ear is open to his teaching, and he gives them orders so that their hearts may be turned from evil. |
| Если послушают и будут служить Ему, то проведут дни свои в благополучии и лета свои в радости; | If they give ear to his voice, and do his word, then he gives them long life, and years full of pleasure. |
| если же не послушают, то погибнут от стрелы и умрут в неразумии. | But if not, they come to their end, and give up their breath without knowledge. |
| Но лицемеры питают в сердце гнев и не взывают к Нему, когда Он заключает их в узы; | Those who have no fear of God keep wrath stored up in their hearts; they give no cry for help when they are made prisoners. |
| поэтому душа их умирает в молодости и жизнь их с блудниками. | They come to their end while they are still young, their life is short like that of those who are used for sex purposes in the worship of their gods. |
| Он спасает бедного от беды его и в угнетении открывает ухо его. | He makes the wrong done to the poor the way of their salvation, opening their ears by their trouble. |
| И тебя вывел бы Он из тесноты на простор, где нет стеснения, и поставляемое на стол твой было бы наполнено туком; | ... |
| но ты преисполнен суждениями нечестивых: суждение и осуждение--близки. | ... |
| Да не поразит тебя гнев [Божий] наказанием! Большой выкуп не спасет тебя. | ... |
| Даст ли Он какую цену твоему богатству? Нет, --ни золоту и никакому сокровищу. | ... |
| Не желай той ночи, когда народы истребляются на своем месте. | ... |
| Берегись, не склоняйся к нечестию, которое ты предпочел страданию. | Take care not to be turned to sin, for you have taken evil for your part in place of sorrow. |
| Бог высок могуществом Своим, и кто такой, как Он, наставник? | Truly God is lifted up in strength; who is a ruler like him? |
| Кто укажет Ему путь Его; кто может сказать: Ты поступаешь несправедливо? | Who ever gave orders to him, or said to him, You have done wrong? |
| Помни о том, чтобы превозносить дела его, которые люди видят. | See that you give praise to his work, about which men make songs. |
| Все люди могут видеть их; человек может усматривать их издали. | All people are looking on it; man sees it from far. |
| Вот, Бог велик, и мы не можем познать Его; число лет Его неисследимо. | Truly, God is great, greater than all our knowledge; the number of his years may not be searched out. |
| Он собирает капли воды; они во множестве изливаются дождем: | For he takes up the drops from the sea; he sends them through his mist as rain, |
| из облаков каплют и изливаются обильно на людей. | Flowing down from the sky, and dropping on the peoples. |
| Кто может также постигнуть протяжение облаков, треск шатра Его? | And who has knowledge of how the clouds are stretched out, or of the thunders of his tent? |
| Вот, Он распространяет над ним свет Свой и покрывает дно моря. | See, he is stretching out his mist, covering the tops of the mountains with it. |
| Оттуда Он судит народы, дает пищу в изобилии. | For by these he gives food to the peoples, and bread in full measure. |
| Он сокрывает в дланях Своих молнию и повелевает ей, кого разить. | He takes the light in his hands, sending it against the mark. |
| Треск ее дает знать о ней; скот также чувствует происходящее. | The thunder makes clear his passion, and the storm gives news of his wrath. |
