| Now [there was] a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band], | Ug didto sa Cesarea may usa ka lalaki nga ginganlan si Cornelio, nga kapitan sa kasundalohan nga ginatawag nga Panon nga Italyanhon. |
| a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always. | Siya maoy usa ka tawong masimbahon ug uban sa iyang tibuok panimalay siya mahadlokon sa Dios, naghatag ug daghang limos ngadto sa mga tawo, ug nag-ampo kanunay sa Dios. |
| He saw in a vision openly, as it were about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius. | Ug sa may ikatulo ang takna sa hapon, iyang nakita sa tin-aw gayud, diha sa panan-awon, ang usa ka manolunda sa Dios nga misulod ug miingon kaniya, "Cornelio." |
| And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God. | Ug siya mitutok kaniya uban sa kalisang, ug miingon, "Unsa man unta, Senyor?" Ug siya mitubag kaniya, "Ang imong mga pag-ampo ug mga paglimos misulbong sa itaas aron mahimong handumanan diha sa atubangan sa Dios. |
| And now send men to Joppa, and fetch one Simon, who is surnamed Peter: | Ug karon magsugo kag mga tawo ngadto sa Jope ug ipadala nganhi ang usa ka Simon nga ginganlag Pedro. |
| he lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. | Siya anaa mag-abut sa ka Simon nga magpapanit, kinsang balay anaa sa ubay sa dagat." |
| And when the angel that spake unto him was departed, he called two of his household-servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually; | Ug sa nakapahawa na ang manolunda nga nakigsulti kaniya, si Cornelio mitawag sa duha sa iyang mga binatonan ug sa usa ka masimbahong sundalo nga usa sa mga tig-alagad kaniya, |
| and having rehearsed all things unto them, he sent them to Joppa. | ug sa iya na silang nasuginlan sa tanan, sila iyang gipagikan ngadto sa Jope. |
| Now on the morrow, as they were on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour: | Ug sa sunod nga adlaw, sa nanaglakaw pa sila ug nagkahiduol na sa lungsod, si Pedro misaka sa atop sa balay sa may kaudtohon aron sa pag-ampo. |
| and he became hungry, and desired to eat: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance; | Ug siya mibatig dakung kagutom ug nangandoyg makaon; apan samtang nanaghikay pa sila niini, siya gipanawan. |
| and he beholdeth the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet, let down by four corners upon the earth: | Ug iyang nakita ang langit nga inablihan, ug ang usa ka butang nga nagkanaug nga ingon sa usa ka dakung habol, nga pinaagi sa upat niini ka mga kanto nga hiniktan, kini gitonton paingon sa yuta. |
| wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the heaven. | Sa sulod niini diha ang tanang matang sa mga mananap nga tagup-at ug tiil ug sa mga nanagsaguyod sa yuta, ug sa mga langgam sa kahanginan. |
| And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat. | Ug miabut kaniya ang usa ka tingog nga nag-ingon, "Tumindog ka, Pedro; pag-ihaw ug kamaon ka." |
| But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean. | Apan si Pedro miingon, "Dili ko, Ginoo; kay wala pa gayud akoy nakaon nga dili binalaan o nga mahugaw." |
| And a voice [came] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common. | Ug ang tingog miabut kaniya pag-usab sa ikaduha nga nag-ingon, "Ayaw paghinganlig dili binalaan ang mga butang nga nahinloan na sa Dios." |
| And this was done thrice: and straightway the vessel was received up into heaven. | Ug kini nahitabo sa makatulo, ug sa kalit kadto gibira ngadto sa langit. |
| Now while Peter was much perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men that were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate, | Ug samtang si Pedro nalibog pa sa iyang hunahuna kon unsa kaha ang kahulogan niadtong panan-awon nga iyang nakita, tan-awa, ang mga tawo nga gisugo ni Cornelio nanagtindog sa pultahan sa gawas, tapus nila masusi kon diin ang balay ni Simon. |
| and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, were lodging there. | Ug sila nanawag sa pagpangutana kon nag-abut ba didto si Simon nga ginganlag Pedro. |
| And while Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. | Ug samtang si Pedro namalandong mahitungod sa panan-awon, ang Espiritu miingon kaniya, "Tan-awa, anaay tulo ka tawo nga nangita kanimo. |
| But arise, and get thee down, and go with them, nothing doubting: for I have sent them. | Tindog ug kumanaug ka, ug umuban ka kanila sa walay pag-ukon-ukon; kay ako mao ang nagpaanhi kanila." |
| And Peter went down to the men, and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come? | Ug si Pedro mikanaug ngadto sa mga tawo ug miingon kanila, "Ako mao ang inyong gipangita. Unsa bay hinungdan sa inyong pag-anhi?" |
| And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man and one that feareth God, and well reported of by all the nation of the Jews, was warned [of God] by a holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words from thee. | Ug sila mitubag kaniya, "Si Kapitan Cornelio, nga usa ka tawong matarung ug mahadlokon sa Dios, nga mahitungod kaniya ang tibuok nasud sa mga Judio aduna ganiy maayong pagpanghimatuod, gimandoan sa usa ka balaang manolunda sa pagpakuha kanimo ngadto sa iyang balay, ug sa pagpatalinghug sa imong isulti kaniya." |
| So he called them in and lodged them. And on the morrow he arose and went forth with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him. | Ug sila iyang gipasulod ug gipaabut. |
| And on the morrow they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his kinsmen and his near friends. | Ug sa sunod nga adlaw sila nahiabut sa Cesarea. Ug si Cornelio nga nagpaabut kanila, nagpatigum sa iyang mga paryenti ug suod nga mga higala. |
| And when it came to pass that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. | Ug sa pagsulod ni Pedro sa balay, si Cornelio misugat sa pagdawat kaniya ug mihapa sa iyang tiilan ug misimba kaniya. |
| But Peter raised him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. | Apan gipatindog siya ni Pedro nga nag-ingon, "Tumindog ka; ako gayud usab tawo." |
| And as he talked with him, he went in, and findeth many come together: | Ug sa nagpakigsulti siya kaniya, siya misulod ug didto iyang nakita ang daghang mga tawo nga nagkatigum. |
| and he said unto them, Ye yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come unto one of another nation; and [yet] unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean: | Ug siya miingon kanila, "Kamo nasayud na nga maoy supak sa kasugoan alang sa usa ka Judio ang pagpakigharong o pagpamisita sa usa ka tawong dumuloong. Apan gipahibalo kanako sa Dios nga kinahanglan walay tawo nga akong pagaingnon nga dili binalaan o nga mahugaw. |
| wherefore also I came without gainsaying, when I was sent for. I ask therefore with what intent ye sent for me. | Tungod niini, sa pagpakuha mo kanako, mianhi ako sa walay pag-ukon-ukon. Ug karon mangutana ako nganong gipakuha mo ako." |
| And Cornelius said, Four days ago, until this hour, I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house; and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel, | Ug si Cornelio miingon kaniya, "Upat na karon ka adlaw, sa may ingon niining taknaa karon, nagtuman ako sa haponon nga pag-ampo dinhi sa akong balay sa ikatulo ang takna. Ug tan-awa, mitungha sa atubangan ko ang usa ka lalaki nga nagbistig masilaw, |
| and saith, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. | ug miingon kanako, `Cornelio, ang imong pag-ampo gipatalinghugan ug ang imong mga paglimos nahinumduman sa atubangan sa Dios. |
| Send therefore to Joppa, and call unto thee Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side. | Busa, pagsugo ngadto sa Jope sa pagkuha kang Simon nga ginganlan ug Pedro; siya anaa mag-abut sa balay ni Simon nga magpapanit diha sa ubay sa dagat.` |
| Forthwith therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all things that have been commanded thee of the Lord. | Busa, gipasugoan ko ikaw dihadiha, ug gikalooy mo ang pag-anhi. Ug kaming tanan ania karon dinhi sa atubangan sa Dios aron sa pagpatalinghug sa tanan nga gisugo kanimo sa Ginoo." |
| And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: | Ug unya si Pedro sa pagbungat sa iyang baba miingon, "Sa pagkatinuod naila ko nga ang Dios wala diay ing pinalabi sa mga tawo, |
| but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him. | hinonoa nga sa matag-usa ka nasud, iyang pagakahimut-an ang bisan kinsa nga magakahadlok kaniya ug magabuhat sa matarung. |
| The word which he sent unto the children of Israel, preaching good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all.) -- | Kamo nahibalo sa pulong nga gipadala sa Dios ngadto sa kaliwatan ni Israel, sa iyang pagwali sa Maayong Balita sa pakigdait pinaagi kang Jesu-Cristo (siya mao ang Ginoo sa tanan), |
| that saying ye yourselves know, which was published throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; | sa pulong nga nasangyaw sa tibuok Judea, nga dito magsugod sa Galilea tapus sa pagbautismo nga gimantala ni Juan: |
| [even] Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. | mahitungod kang Jesus nga taga-Nazaret, giunsa sa Dios pagdihog kaniyag Espiritu Santo ug gahum; giunsa niya pagpangadto-adto sa paghimog mga kaayohan ug sa pagpang-ayo sa tanang gisakit sa yawa, kay ang Dios uban man kaniya. |
| And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom also they slew, hanging him on a tree. | Ug kami maoy mga saksi sa tanang gipamuhat niya sulod sa kayutaan sa mga Judio ug sa Jerusalem. Ug siya ilang gipatay pinaagi sa pagbitay kaniya diha sa kahoy. |
| Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest, | Apan sa Dios gibanhaw siya sa ikatulo ka adlaw ug gitugot nga siya igapakita, |
| not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, [even] to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. | dili ngadto sa tanang tawo kondili nganhi kanamo nga gipili sa Dios ingon nga mga saksi, nga nangaon ug nanginom uban kaniya human siya mabanhaw gikan sa mga patay. |
| And he charged us to preach unto the people, and to testify that this is he who is ordained of God [to be] the Judge of the living and the dead. | Ug siya misugo kanamo sa pagwali ngadto sa katawhan, ug sa pagpanghimatuod nga siya mao ang gitudlo sa Dios aron sa paghukom sa mga buhi ug sa mga patay. |
| To him bear all the prophets witness, that through his name every one that believeth on him shall receive remission of sins. | Kaniya ang tanang mga profeta nanghimatuod nga ang tanang magatoo kaniya magadawat sa kapasayloan sa mga sala pinaagi sa iyang ngalan." |
| While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them that heard the word. | Samtang si Pedro nagsulti pa niini, ang Espiritu Santo mikunsad diha sa tanan nga nakadungog sa pulong. |
| And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit. | Ug ang mga magtotoong may sirkunsisyon nga nanguban kang Pedro nahingangha nga ang gasa nga Espiritu Santo gibubo man usab diay diha sa mga Gentil. |
| For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, | Kay sila nakabati man sa mga Gentil nga nanaglitok sa laing mga pinulongan ug nanag-ambahan sa Dios. Unya si Pedro miingon, |
| Can any man forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we? | "Aduna bay makasalanta sa tubig aron dili kabautismohan sila nga nanagpakadawat sa Espiritu Santo sama kanato?" |
| And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. | Ug iyang gisugo sila sa pagpabautismo sa ngalan ni Jesu-Cristo. Ug unya ilang gihangyo siya sa pagpabilin pa ug pipila ka adlaw. |
