Luca 4:1 ^
Or Gesù, ripieno dello Spirito Santo, se ne ritornò dal Giordano, e fu condotto dallo Spirito nel deserto per quaranta giorni, ed era tentato dal diavolo.
Luke 4:1 ^
And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, came back from the Jordan, and was guided by the Spirit in the waste land
Luca 4:2 ^
E durante quei giorni non mangiò nulla; e dopo che quelli furon trascorsi, ebbe fame.
Luke 4:2 ^
For forty days, being tested by the Evil One. And he had no food in those days; and when they came to an end, he was in need of food.
Luca 4:3 ^
E il diavolo gli disse: Se tu sei Figliuol di Dio, di’ a questa pietra che diventi pane.
Luke 4:3 ^
And the Evil One said to him, If you are the Son of God, give orders to this stone to become bread.
Luca 4:4 ^
E Gesù gli rispose: Sta scritto: Non di pane soltanto vivrà l’uomo.
Luke 4:4 ^
And Jesus made answer to him, It has been said in the Writings, Bread is not man's only need.
Luca 4:5 ^
E il diavolo, menatolo in alto, gli mostrò in un attimo tutti i regni del mondo e gli disse:
Luke 4:5 ^
And he took him up and let him see all the kingdoms of the earth in a minute of time.
Luca 4:6 ^
Ti darò tutta quanta questa potenza e la gloria di questi regni; perch’essa mi è stata data, e la do a chi voglio.
Luke 4:6 ^
And the Evil One said, I will give you authority over all these, and the glory of them, for it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone at my pleasure.
Luca 4:7 ^
Se dunque tu ti prostri ad adorarmi, sarà tutta tua.
Luke 4:7 ^
If then you will give worship to me, it will all be yours.
Luca 4:8 ^
E Gesù, rispondendo, gli disse: Sta scritto: Adora il Signore Iddio tuo, e a lui solo rendi il tuo culto.
Luke 4:8 ^
And Jesus in answer said to him, It has been said in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God, and be his servant only.
Luca 4:9 ^
Poi lo menò a Gerusalemme e lo pose sul pinnacolo del tempio e gli disse: Se tu sei Figliuolo di Dio, gettati giù di qui;
Luke 4:9 ^
And he took him to Jerusalem and put him on the highest point of the Temple and said to him, If you are the Son of God, let yourself go down from here; for it is said in the Writings,
Luca 4:10 ^
perché sta scritto: Egli ordinerà ai suoi angeli intorno a te, che ti proteggano;
Luke 4:10 ^
He will give his angels orders to take care of you:
Luca 4:11 ^
ed essi ti porteranno sulle mani, che talora tu non urti col piede contro una pietra.
Luke 4:11 ^
And, In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.
Luca 4:12 ^
E Gesù, rispondendo, gli disse: E’ stato detto: Non tentare il Signore Iddio tuo.
Luke 4:12 ^
And Jesus made answer and said to him, It is said in the Writings, You may not put the Lord your God to the test.
Luca 4:13 ^
Allora il diavolo, finita che ebbe ogni sorta di tentazione, si partì da lui fino ad altra occasione.
Luke 4:13 ^
And when all these tests were ended the Evil One went away from him for a time.
Luca 4:14 ^
E Gesù, nella potenza dello Spirito, se ne tornò in Galilea; e la sua fama si sparse per tutta la contrada circonvicina.
Luke 4:14 ^
And Jesus came back to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and the news of him went through all the country round about.
Luca 4:15 ^
E insegnava nelle loro sinagoghe, glorificato da tutti.
Luke 4:15 ^
And he was teaching in their Synagogues and all men gave him praise.
Luca 4:16 ^
E venne a Nazaret, dov’era stato allevato; e com’era solito, entrò in giorno di sabato nella sinagoga, e alzatosi per leggere,
Luke 4:16 ^
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been as a child, and he went, as his way was, into the Synagogue on the Sabbath, and got up to give a reading.
Luca 4:17 ^
gli fu dato il libro del profeta Isaia; e aperto il libro trovò quel passo dov’era scritto:
Luke 4:17 ^
And the book of the prophet Isaiah was given to him and, opening the book, he came on the place where it is said,
Luca 4:18 ^
Lo Spirito del Signore è sopra me; per questo egli mi ha unto per evangelizzare i poveri; mi ha mandato a bandir liberazione a’ prigionieri, ed ai ciechi ricupero della vista; a rimettere in libertà gli oppressi,
Luke 4:18 ^
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because I am marked out by him to give good news to the poor; he has sent me to make well those who are broken-hearted; to say that the prisoners will be let go, and the blind will see, and to make the wounded free from their chains,
Luca 4:19 ^
e a predicare l’anno accettevole del Signore.
Luke 4:19 ^
To give knowledge that the year of the Lord's good pleasure is come.
Luca 4:20 ^
Poi, chiuso il libro e resolo all’inserviente, si pose a sedere; e gli occhi di tutti nella sinagoga erano fissi in lui.
Luke 4:20 ^
And shutting the book he gave it back to the servant and took his seat: and the eyes of all in the Synagogue were fixed on him.
Luca 4:21 ^
Ed egli prese a dir loro: Oggi, s’è adempiuta questa scrittura, e voi l’udite.
Luke 4:21 ^
Then he said to them, Today this word has come true in your hearing.
Luca 4:22 ^
E tutti gli rendeano testimonianza, e si maravigliavano delle parole di grazia che uscivano dalla sua bocca, e dicevano: Non è costui il figliuol di Giuseppe?
Luke 4:22 ^
And they were all giving witness, with wonder, to the words of grace which came from his mouth: and they said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
Luca 4:23 ^
Ed egli disse loro: Certo, voi mi citerete questo proverbio: Medico, cura te stesso; fa’ anche qui nella tua patria tutto quello che abbiamo udito essere avvenuto in Capernaum!
Luke 4:23 ^
And he said to them, Without doubt you will say to me, Let the medical man make himself well: the things which to our knowledge were done at Capernaum, do them here in your country.
Luca 4:24 ^
Ma egli disse: In verità vi dico che nessun profeta è ben accetto nella sua patria.
Luke 4:24 ^
And he said to them, Truly I say to you, No prophet is honoured in his country.
Luca 4:25 ^
Anzi, vi dico in verità che ai dì d’Elia, quando il cielo fu serrato per tre anni e sei mesi e vi fu gran carestia in tutto il paese, c’eran molte vedove in Israele;
Luke 4:25 ^
Truly I say to you, There were a number of widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months and there was no food in the land;
Luca 4:26 ^
eppure a nessuna di esse fu mandato Elia, ma fu mandato a una vedova in Sarepta di Sidon.
Luke 4:26 ^
But Elijah was not sent to one of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
Luca 4:27 ^
E al tempo del profeta Eliseo, c’eran molti lebbrosi in Israele; eppure nessun di loro fu mondato, ma lo fu Naaman il Siro.
Luke 4:27 ^
And there were a number of lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and not one of them was made clean, but only Naaman the Syrian.

E tutti, nella sinagoga, furon ripieni d’ira all’udir queste cose.
Luke 4:28 ^
And all who were in the Synagogue were very angry when these things were said to them.
Luca 4:29 ^
E levatisi, lo cacciaron fuori della città, e lo menarono fin sul ciglio del monte sul quale era fabbricata la loro città, per precipitarlo giù.
Luke 4:29 ^
And they got up and took him out of the town to the edge of the mountain on which their town was, so that they might send him down to his death.
Luca 4:30 ^
Ma egli, passando in mezzo a loro, se ne andò.
Luke 4:30 ^
But he came through them and went on his way.
Luca 4:31 ^
E scese a Capernaum città di Galilea; e vi stava ammaestrando la gente nei giorni di sabato.
Luke 4:31 ^
And he came down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee; and he was giving them teaching on the Sabbath.
Luca 4:32 ^
Ed essi stupivano della sua dottrina perché parlava con autorità.
Luke 4:32 ^
And they were surprised at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
Luca 4:33 ^
Or nella sinagoga si trovava un uomo posseduto da uno spirito d’immondo demonio, il quale gridò con gran voce: Ahi!
Luke 4:33 ^
And there was a man in the Synagogue who had an unclean spirit; and he gave a loud cry and said,
Luca 4:34 ^
Che v’è fra noi e te, o Gesù Nazareno? Se’ tu venuto per perderci? Io so chi tu sei: il Santo di Dio!
Luke 4:34 ^
Let us be! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to put an end to us? I have knowledge who you are, the Holy One of God.
Luca 4:35 ^
E Gesù lo sgridò, dicendo: Ammutolisci, ed esci da quest’uomo! E il demonio, gettatolo a terra in mezzo alla gente, uscì da lui senza fargli alcun male.
Luke 4:35 ^
And Jesus said to him, Be quiet, and come out of him. And when the evil spirit had put him down on the earth in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no damage.
Luca 4:36 ^
E tutti furon presi da sbigottimento e ragionavan fra loro, dicendo: Qual parola è questa? Egli comanda con autorità e potenza agli spiriti immondi, ed essi escono.
Luke 4:36 ^
And wonder came on them all and they said to one another, What are these words? for with authority and power he gives orders to the evil spirits and they come out.
Luca 4:37 ^
E la sua fama si spargeva in ogni parte della circostante contrada.
Luke 4:37 ^
And there was much talk about him in all the places round about.
Luca 4:38 ^
Poi, levatosi ed uscito dalla sinagoga, entrò in casa di Simone. Or la suocera di Simone era travagliata da una gran febbre; e lo pregarono per lei.
Luke 4:38 ^
And he got up and went out of the Synagogue and went into the house of Simon. And Simon's wife's mother was very ill with a burning heat; and in answer to their prayers for her
Luca 4:39 ^
Ed egli, chinatosi verso di lei, sgridò la febbre, e la febbre la lasciò; ed ella alzatasi prontamente, si mise a servirli.
Luke 4:39 ^
He went near her, and with a sharp word he gave orders to the disease and it went away from her; and straight away she got up and took care of their needs.
Luca 4:40 ^
E sul tramontar del sole, tutti quelli che aveano degli infermi di varie malattie, li menavano a lui; ed egli li guariva, imponendo le mani a ciascuno.
Luke 4:40 ^
And at sundown all those who had anyone ill with any sort of disease, took them to him, and he put his hands on every one of them and made them well.
Luca 4:41 ^
Anche i demoni uscivano da molti gridando, e dicendo: Tu sei il Figliuol di Dio! Ed egli li sgridava e non permetteva loro di parlare, perché sapevano ch’egli era il Cristo.
Luke 4:41 ^
And evil spirits came out of a number of them, crying out and saying, You are the Son of God. But he gave them sharp orders not to say a word, because they had knowledge that he was the Christ.
Luca 4:42 ^
Poi, fattosi giorno, uscì e andò in un luogo deserto; e le turbe lo cercavano e giunsero fino a lui; e lo trattenevano perché non si partisse da loro.
Luke 4:42 ^
And when it was day, he came out and went to a waste place; and great numbers of people came looking for him, and they came to him and would have kept him from going away.
Luca 4:43 ^
Ma egli disse loro: Anche alle altre città bisogna ch’io evangelizzi il regno di Dio; poiché per questo sono stato mandato.
Luke 4:43 ^
But he said to them, I have to give the good news of the kingdom of God in other towns, because that is why I was sent.
Luca 4:44 ^
E andava predicando per le sinagoghe della Galilea.
Luke 4:44 ^
And he was teaching in the Synagogues of Galilee.
