Luke 4

Lucas 4:1 ^
Y JESUS, lleno del Espíritu Santo, volvió del Jordán, y fué llevado por el Espíritu al desierto
Luke 4:1 ^
And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, came back from the Jordan, and was guided by the Spirit in the waste land
Lucas 4:2 ^
Por cuarenta días, y era tentado del diablo. Y no comió cosa en aquellos días: los cuales pasados, tuvo hambre.
Luke 4:2 ^
For forty days, being tested by the Evil One. And he had no food in those days; and when they came to an end, he was in need of food.
Lucas 4:3 ^
Entonces el diablo le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di á esta piedra que se haga pan.
Luke 4:3 ^
And the Evil One said to him, If you are the Son of God, give orders to this stone to become bread.
Lucas 4:4 ^
Y Jesús respondiéndole, dijo: Escrito está: Que no con pan solo vivirá el hombre, mas con toda palabra de Dios.
Luke 4:4 ^
And Jesus made answer to him, It has been said in the Writings, Bread is not man's only need.
Lucas 4:5 ^
Y le llevó el diablo á un alto monte, y le mostró en un momento de tiempo todos los reinos de la tierra.
Luke 4:5 ^
And he took him up and let him see all the kingdoms of the earth in a minute of time.
Lucas 4:6 ^
Y le dijo el diablo: A ti te daré toda esta potestad, y la gloria de ellos; porque á mí es entregada, y á quien quiero la doy:
Luke 4:6 ^
And the Evil One said, I will give you authority over all these, and the glory of them, for it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone at my pleasure.
Lucas 4:7 ^
Pues si tú adorares delante de mí, serán todos tuyos.
Luke 4:7 ^
If then you will give worship to me, it will all be yours.
Lucas 4:8 ^
Y respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Vete de mí, Satanás, porque escrito está: A tu Señor Dios adorarás, y á él solo servirás.
Luke 4:8 ^
And Jesus in answer said to him, It has been said in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God, and be his servant only.
Lucas 4:9 ^
Y le llevó á Jerusalem, y púsole sobre las almenas del templo, y le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, échate de aquí abajo:
Luke 4:9 ^
And he took him to Jerusalem and put him on the highest point of the Temple and said to him, If you are the Son of God, let yourself go down from here; for it is said in the Writings,
Lucas 4:10 ^
Porque escrito está: Que á sus ángeles mandará de ti, que te guarden;
Luke 4:10 ^
He will give his angels orders to take care of you:
Lucas 4:11 ^
Y En las manos te llevarán, Porque no dañes tu pie en piedra.
Luke 4:11 ^
And, In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.
Lucas 4:12 ^
Y respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Dicho está: No tentarás al Señor tu Dios.
Luke 4:12 ^
And Jesus made answer and said to him, It is said in the Writings, You may not put the Lord your God to the test.
Lucas 4:13 ^
Y acabada toda tentación, el diablo se fué de él por un tiempo.
Luke 4:13 ^
And when all these tests were ended the Evil One went away from him for a time.
Lucas 4:14 ^
Y Jesús volvió en virtud del Espíritu á Galilea, y salió la fama de él por toda la tierra de alrededor,
Luke 4:14 ^
And Jesus came back to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and the news of him went through all the country round about.
Lucas 4:15 ^
Y enseñaba en las sinagogas de ellos, y era glorificado de todos.
Luke 4:15 ^
And he was teaching in their Synagogues and all men gave him praise.
Lucas 4:16 ^
Y vino á Nazaret, donde había sido criado; y entró, conforme á su costumbre, el día del sábado en la sinagoga, y se levantó á leer.
Luke 4:16 ^
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been as a child, and he went, as his way was, into the Synagogue on the Sabbath, and got up to give a reading.
Lucas 4:17 ^
Y fuéle dado el libro del profeta Isaías; y como abrió el libro, halló el lugar donde estaba escrito:
Luke 4:17 ^
And the book of the prophet Isaiah was given to him and, opening the book, he came on the place where it is said,
Lucas 4:18 ^
El Espíritu del Señor es sobre mí, Por cuanto me ha ungido para dar buenas nuevas á los pobres: Me ha enviado para sanar á los quebrantados de corazón; Para pregonar á los cautivos libertad, Y á los ciegos vista; Para poner en libertad á los quebrantados:
Luke 4:18 ^
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because I am marked out by him to give good news to the poor; he has sent me to make well those who are broken-hearted; to say that the prisoners will be let go, and the blind will see, and to make the wounded free from their chains,
Lucas 4:19 ^
Para predicar el año agradable del Señor.
Luke 4:19 ^
To give knowledge that the year of the Lord's good pleasure is come.
Lucas 4:20 ^
Y rollando el libro, lo dió al ministro, y sentóse: y los ojos de todos en la sinagoga estaban fijos en él.
Luke 4:20 ^
And shutting the book he gave it back to the servant and took his seat: and the eyes of all in the Synagogue were fixed on him.
Lucas 4:21 ^
Y comenzó á decirles: Hoy se ha cumplido esta Escritura en vuestros oídos.
Luke 4:21 ^
Then he said to them, Today this word has come true in your hearing.
Lucas 4:22 ^
Y todos le daban testimonio, y estaban maravillados de las palabras de gracia que salían de su boca, y decían: ¿No es éste el hijo de José?
Luke 4:22 ^
And they were all giving witness, with wonder, to the words of grace which came from his mouth: and they said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
Lucas 4:23 ^
Y les dijo: Sin duda me diréis este refrán: Médico, cúrate á ti mismo: de tantas cosas que hemos oído haber sido hechas en Capernaum, haz también aquí en tu tierra.
Luke 4:23 ^
And he said to them, Without doubt you will say to me, Let the medical man make himself well: the things which to our knowledge were done at Capernaum, do them here in your country.
Lucas 4:24 ^
Y dijo: De cierto os digo, que ningún profeta es acepto en su tierra.
Luke 4:24 ^
And he said to them, Truly I say to you, No prophet is honoured in his country.
Lucas 4:25 ^
Mas en verdad os digo, que muchas viudas había en Israel en los días de Elías, cuando el cielo fué cerrado por tres años y seis meses, que hubo una grande hambre en toda la tierra;
Luke 4:25 ^
Truly I say to you, There were a number of widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months and there was no food in the land;
Lucas 4:26 ^
Pero á ninguna de ellas fué enviado Elías, sino á Sarepta de Sidón, á una mujer viuda.
Luke 4:26 ^
But Elijah was not sent to one of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
Lucas 4:27 ^
Y muchos leprosos había en Israel en tiempo del profeta Eliseo; mas ninguno de ellos fué limpio, sino Naamán el Siro.
Luke 4:27 ^
And there were a number of lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and not one of them was made clean, but only Naaman the Syrian.
Lucas 4:28 ^
Entonces todos en la sinagoga fueron llenos de ira, oyendo estas cosas;
Luke 4:28 ^
And all who were in the Synagogue were very angry when these things were said to them.
Lucas 4:29 ^
Y levantándose, le echaron fuera de la ciudad, y le llevaron hasta la cumbre del monte sobre el cual la ciudad de ellos estaba edificada, para despeñarle.
Luke 4:29 ^
And they got up and took him out of the town to the edge of the mountain on which their town was, so that they might send him down to his death.
Lucas 4:30 ^
Mas él, pasando por medio de ellos, se fué.
Luke 4:30 ^
But he came through them and went on his way.
Lucas 4:31 ^
Y descendió á Capernaum, ciudad de Galilea. Y los enseñaba en los sábados.
Luke 4:31 ^
And he came down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee; and he was giving them teaching on the Sabbath.
Lucas 4:32 ^
Y se maravillaban de su doctrina, porque su palabra era con potestad.
Luke 4:32 ^
And they were surprised at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
Lucas 4:33 ^
Y estaba en la sinagoga un hombre que tenía un espíritu de un demonio inmundo, el cual exclamó á gran voz,
Luke 4:33 ^
And there was a man in the Synagogue who had an unclean spirit; and he gave a loud cry and said,
Lucas 4:34 ^
Diciendo: Déjanos, ¿qué tenemos contigo Jesús Nazareno? ¿has venido á destruirnos? Yo te conozco quién eres, el Santo de Dios.
Luke 4:34 ^
Let us be! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to put an end to us? I have knowledge who you are, the Holy One of God.
Lucas 4:35 ^
Y Jesús le increpó, diciendo: Enmudece, y sal de él. Entonces el demonio, derribándole en medio, salió de él, y no le hizo daño alguno.
Luke 4:35 ^
And Jesus said to him, Be quiet, and come out of him. And when the evil spirit had put him down on the earth in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no damage.
Lucas 4:36 ^
Y hubo espanto en todos, y hablaban unos á otros, diciendo: ¿Qué palabra es ésta, que con autoridad y potencia manda á los espíritus inmundos, y salen?
Luke 4:36 ^
And wonder came on them all and they said to one another, What are these words? for with authority and power he gives orders to the evil spirits and they come out.
Lucas 4:37 ^
Y la fama de él se divulgaba de todas partes por todos los lugares de la comarca.
Luke 4:37 ^
And there was much talk about him in all the places round about.
Lucas 4:38 ^
Y levantándose Jesús de la sinagoga, entró en casa de Simón: y la suegra de Simón estaba con una grande fiebre; y le rogaron por ella.
Luke 4:38 ^
And he got up and went out of the Synagogue and went into the house of Simon. And Simon's wife's mother was very ill with a burning heat; and in answer to their prayers for her
Lucas 4:39 ^
E inclinándose hacia ella, riñó á la fiebre; y la fiebre la dejó; y ella levantándose luego, les servía.
Luke 4:39 ^
He went near her, and with a sharp word he gave orders to the disease and it went away from her; and straight away she got up and took care of their needs.
Lucas 4:40 ^
Y poniéndose el sol, todos los que tenían enfermos de diversas enfermedades, los traían á él; y él poniendo las manos sobre cada uno de ellos, los sanaba.
Luke 4:40 ^
And at sundown all those who had anyone ill with any sort of disease, took them to him, and he put his hands on every one of them and made them well.
Lucas 4:41 ^
Y salían también demonios de muchos, dando voces, y diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios. Mas riñéndolos no les dejaba hablar; porque sabían que él era el Cristo.
Luke 4:41 ^
And evil spirits came out of a number of them, crying out and saying, You are the Son of God. But he gave them sharp orders not to say a word, because they had knowledge that he was the Christ.
Lucas 4:42 ^
Y siendo ya de día salió, y se fué á un lugar desierto: y las gentes le buscaban, y vinieron hasta él; y le detenían para que no se apartase de ellos.
Luke 4:42 ^
And when it was day, he came out and went to a waste place; and great numbers of people came looking for him, and they came to him and would have kept him from going away.
Lucas 4:43 ^
Mas él les dijo: Que también á otras ciudades es necesario que anuncie el evangelio del reino de Dios; porque para esto soy enviado.
Luke 4:43 ^
But he said to them, I have to give the good news of the kingdom of God in other towns, because that is why I was sent.
Lucas 4:44 ^
Y predicaba en las sinagogas de Galilea.
Luke 4:44 ^
And he was teaching in the Synagogues of Galilee.
