Geremia 9	Jeremiah 9
Geremia 9:1 Oh fosse pur la mia testa mutata in acqua, e fosser gli occhi miei una fonte di lacrime! Io piangerei giorno e notte gli uccisi della figliuola del mio popolo!	Jeremiah 9:1 If only my head was a stream of waters and my eyes fountains of weeping, so that I might go on weeping day and night for the dead of the daughter of my people!
Geremia 9:2 Oh se avessi nel deserto un rifugio da viandanti! Io abbandonerei il mio popolo e me n’andrei lungi da costoro, perché son tutti adulteri, un’adunata di traditori.	Jeremiah 9:2 If only I had in the waste land a night's resting-place for travellers, so that I might go away, far from my people! for they are all untrue, a band of false men.
Geremia 9:3 Tendono la lingua, ch’è il loro arco, per scoccar menzogne; son diventati potenti nel paese, ma non per agir con fedeltà; poiché procedono di malvagità in malvagità, e non conoscono me, dice l’Eterno.	Jeremiah 9:3 Their tongues are bent like a bow to send out false words: they have become strong in the land, but not for good faith: they go on from evil to evil, and they have no knowledge of me, says the Lord.
Geremia 9:4 Si guardi ciascuno dal suo amico, e nessuno si fidi del suo fratello; poiché ogni fratello non fa che ingannare, ed ogni amico va spargendo calunnie.	Jeremiah 9:4 Let everyone keep watch on his neighbour, and put no faith in any brother: for every brother will certainly be tricking his brother, and every neighbour will go about saying evil.
Geremia 9:5 L’uno gabba l’altro, e non dice la verità, esercitano la loro lingua a mentire, s’affannano a fare il male.	Jeremiah 9:5 Everyone will make sport of his neighbour with deceit, not saying what is true: their tongues have been trained to say false words; they are twisted, hating to come back.
Geremia 9:6 La tua dimora è la malafede; ed è per malafede che costoro rifiutano di conoscermi, dice l’Eterno.	Jeremiah 9:6 There is wrong on wrong, deceit on deceit; they have given up the knowledge of me, says the Lord.
Geremia 9:7 Perciò, così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti: Ecco, io li fonderò nel crogiuolo per saggiarli; poiché che altro farei riguardo alla figliuola del mio popolo?	Jeremiah 9:7 So the Lord of armies has said, See, I will make them soft in the fire and put them to the test; this I will do because of their evil-doing.
Geremia 9:8 La loro lingua è un dardo micidiale; essa non dice che menzogne; con la bocca ognuno parla di pace al suo prossimo, ma nel cuore gli tende insidie.	Jeremiah 9:8 His tongue is an arrow causing death; the words of his mouth are deceit: he says words of peace to his neighbour, but in his heart he is waiting secretly for him.
Geremia 9:9 Non li punirei io per queste cose? dice l’Eterno; e l’anima mia non si vendicherebbe d’una simile nazione?	Jeremiah 9:9 Am I not to send punishment for these things? says the Lord: will not my soul take payment from such a nation as this?
Geremia 9:10 Io vo’ dare in pianto ed in gemito, per i monti, e vo’ dare in lamento per i pascoli del deserto, perché son arsi, talché niuno più vi passa, e non vi s’ode più voce di bestiame; gli uccelli del cielo e le bestie sono fuggite, sono scomparse.	Jeremiah 9:10 Give yourselves to weeping, crying out in sorrow for the mountains; and for the fields of the waste land send up a song of grief, because they are burned up, so that no one goes through; there is no sound of cattle; the bird of the heavens and the beast are in flight and are gone.
Geremia 9:11 Io ridurrò Gerusalemme in un monte di ruine, in un ricetto di sciacalli; e farò delle città di Giuda una desolazione senza abitanti.	Jeremiah 9:11 And I will make Jerusalem a mass of broken stones, the living-place of jackals; and I will make the towns of Judah a waste, with no man living there.
Geremia 9:12 Chi è il savio che capisca queste cose? Chi è colui al quale la bocca dell’Eterno ha parlato perché ei ne dia l’annunzio? Perché il paese è egli distrutto, desolato come un deserto talché niuno vi passa?	Jeremiah 9:12 Who is the wise man able to see this? who is he to whom the word of the Lord has come, so that he may make it clear? why is the land given to destruction and burned up like a waste place, so that no one goes through?
Geremia 9:13 L’Eterno risponde: Perché costoro hanno abbandonato la mia legge ch’io avevo loro posta dinanzi e non hanno dato ascolto alla mia voce, e non l’hanno seguìta nella lor condotta,	Jeremiah 9:13 And the Lord said, Because they have given up my law which I put before them, giving no attention to my voice and not being guided by it;
Geremia 9:14 ma han seguito la caparbietà dei cuor loro, e sono andati dietro ai Baali, come i loro padri insegnarono loro.	Jeremiah 9:14 But they have been walking in the pride of their hearts, going after the Baals, as their fathers gave them teaching.
Geremia 9:15 Perciò, così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ecco, io farò mangiar dell’assenzio a questo popolo e gli farò bere dell’acqua avvelenata.	Jeremiah 9:15 So the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said, I will give them, even this people, bitter plants for food and bitter water for drink.
Geremia 9:16 Io li disperderò fra le nazioni, che né loro né i loro padri han conosciuto; e manderò dietro a loro la spada, finché io li abbia consumati.	Jeremiah 9:16 And I will send them wandering among the nations, among people strange to them and to their fathers: and I will send the sword after them till I have put an end to them.
Geremia 9:17 Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti: Pensate a chiamare delle piagnone, e ch’esse vengano! Mandate a cercare le più avvedute e ch’esse vengano	Jeremiah 9:17 This is what the Lord of armies has said: Take thought and send for the weeping women, so that they may come; and send for the wise women, so that they may come:
Geremia 9:18 e s’affrettino a fare un lamento su noi, sì che i nostri occhi si struggano in lacrime, e l’acqua fluisca dalle nostre palpebre.	Jeremiah 9:18 Let them quickly make cries of sorrow for us, so that drops may be flowing from our eyes till they are streaming with water.
Geremia 9:19 Poiché una voce di lamento si fa udire da Sion: "Come siamo devastati! Siamo coperti di confusione perché dobbiamo abbandonare il paese, ora che hanno abbattuto le nostre dimore".	Jeremiah 9:19 For a sound of weeping goes up from Zion, a cry, How has destruction come on us? we are overcome with shame because we have gone away from our land; he has sent us out from our house.
Geremia 9:20 Donne, ascoltate la parola dell’Eterno, e i vostri orecchi ricevan la parola della sua bocca! Insegnate alle vostre figliuole del lamenti, e ognuna insegni alla sua compagna de’ canti funebri!	Jeremiah 9:20 But even now, give ear to the word of the Lord, O you women; let your ears be open to the word of his mouth, training your daughters to give cries of sorrow, everyone teaching her neighbour a song of grief.
Geremia 9:21 Poiché la morte è salita per le nostre finestre, è entrata nei nostri palazzi per far sparire i bambini dalle strade e i giovani dalle piazze.	Jeremiah 9:21 For death has come up into our windows, forcing its way into our great houses; cutting off the children in the streets and the young men in the wide places.
Geremia 9:22 Di’: Così parla l’Eterno: I cadaveri degli uomini giaceranno come letame sull’aperta campagna, come una mannella che il mietitore si lascia dietro e che nessuno raccoglie.	Jeremiah 9:22 The bodies of men will be falling like waste on the open fields, and like grain dropped by the grain-cutter, and no one will take them up.
Geremia 9:23 Così parla l’Eterno: Il savio non si glori della sua saviezza, il forte non si glori della sua forza, il ricco non si glori della sua ricchezza;	Jeremiah 9:23 This is the word of the Lord: Let not the wise man take pride in his wisdom, or the strong man in his strength, or the man of wealth in his wealth:
Geremia 9:24 ma chi si gloria si glori di questo: che ha intelligenza e conosce me, che sono l’Eterno, che esercita la benignità, il diritto e la giustizia sulla terra; perché di queste cose mi compiaccio, dice l’Eterno.	Jeremiah 9:24 But if any man has pride, let it be in this, that he has the wisdom to have knowledge of me, that I am the Lord, working mercy, giving true decisions, and doing righteousness in the earth: for in these things I have delight, says the Lord.
Geremia 9:25 Ecco, i giorni vengono, dice l’Eterno, ch’io punirò tutti i circoncisi che sono incirconcisi:	Jeremiah 9:25 See, the day is coming, says the Lord, when I will send punishment on all those who have circumcision in the flesh;
Geremia 9:26 l’Egitto, Giuda, Edom, i figliuoli di Ammon, Moab, e tutti quelli che si tagliano i canti della barba, e abitano nel deserto; poiché tutte le nazioni sono incirconcise, e tutta la casa d’Israele e incirconcisa di cuore.	Jeremiah 9:26 On Egypt and on Judah and on Edom and on the children of Ammon and on Moab and on all who have the ends of their hair cut, who are living in the waste land: for all these nations and all the people of Israel are without circumcision in their hearts.
