Geremia 42:1 Tutti i capi delle forze, Johanan, figliuolo di Kareah, Jezania, figliuolo di Hosaia, e tutto il popolo, dal più piccolo al più grande, s’accostarono,	Jeremiah 42:1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah, the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest, came near,
Geremia 42:2 e dissero al profeta Geremia: "Deh, siati accetta la nostra supplicazione, e prega l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, per noi, per tutto questo residuo (poiché, di molti che eravamo, siamo rimasti pochi, come lo vedono gli occhi tuoi);	Jeremiah 42:2 And said to Jeremiah the prophet, Let our request come before you, and make prayer for us to the Lord your God, even for this small band of us; for we are only a small band out of what was a great number, as your eyes may see:
Geremia 42:3 affinché l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ci mostri la via per la quale dobbiamo camminare, e che cosa dobbiam fare".	Jeremiah 42:3 That the Lord your God may make clear to us the way in which we are to go and what we are to do.
Geremia 42:4 E il profeta Geremia disse loro: "Ho inteso; ecco, io pregherò l’Eterno, il vostro Dio, come avete detto; e tutto quello che l’Eterno vi risponderà ve lo farò conoscere; e nulla ve ne celerò".	Jeremiah 42:4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, I have given ear to you; see, I will make prayer to the Lord your God, as you have said; and it will be that, whatever the Lord may say in answer to you, I will give you word of it, keeping nothing back.
Geremia 42:5 E quelli dissero a Geremia: "L’Eterno sia un testimonio verace e fedele contro di noi, se non facciamo tutto quello che l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti manderà a dirci.	Jeremiah 42:5 Then they said to Jeremiah, May the Lord be a true witness against us in good faith, if we do not do everything which the Lord your God sends you to say to us.
Geremia 42:6 Sia la sua risposta gradevole o sgradevole, noi ubbidiremo alla voce dell’Eterno, del nostro Dio, al quale ti mandiamo, affinché bene ce ne venga, per aver ubbidito alla voce dell’Eterno, del nostro Dio".	Jeremiah 42:6 If it is good or if it is evil, we will be guided by the voice of the Lord our God, to whom we are sending you; so that it may be well for us when we give ear to the voice of the Lord our God.
Geremia 42:7 Dopo dieci giorni, la parola dell’Eterno fu rivolta a Geremia.	Jeremiah 42:7 And it came about that after ten days the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah.
Geremia 42:8 E Geremia chiamò Johanan, figliuolo di Kareah; tutti i capi delle forze ch’erano con lui, e tutto il popolo, dal più piccolo al più grande, e disse loro:	Jeremiah 42:8 And he sent for Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were still with him, and all the people, from the least to the greatest,
Geremia 42:9 "Così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele, al quale m’avete mandato perché io gli presentassi la vostra supplicazione:	Jeremiah 42:9 And said to them, These are the words of the Lord, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to put your request before him:
Geremia 42:10 Se continuate a dimorare in questo paese, io vi ci stabilirò, e non vi distruggerò; vi pianterò, e non vi sradicherò; perché mi pento del male che v’ho fatto.	Jeremiah 42:10 If you still go on living in the land, then I will go on building you up and not pulling you down, planting you and not uprooting you: for my purpose of doing evil to you has been changed.
Geremia 42:11 Non temete il re di Babilonia, del quale avete paura; non lo temete, dice l’Eterno, perché io sono con voi per salvarvi e per liberarvi dalla sua mano;	Jeremiah 42:11 Have no fear of the king of Babylon, of whom you are now in fear; have no fear of him, says the Lord: for I am with you to keep you safe and to give you salvation from his hands.
Geremia 42:12 io vi farò trovar compassione dinanzi a lui; egli avrà compassione di voi, e vi farà tornare nel vostro paese.	Jeremiah 42:12 And I will have mercy on you, so that he may have mercy on you and let you go back to your land.
Geremia 42:13 Ma se dite: Noi non rimarremo in questo paese, se non ubbidite alla voce dell’Eterno, del vostro Dio, e dite:	Jeremiah 42:13 But if you say, We have no desire to go on living in this land; and do not give ear to the voice of the Lord your God,
Geremia 42:14 No, andremo nel paese d’Egitto, dove non vedremo la guerra, non udremo suon di tromba, e dove non avrem più fame di pane, e quivi dimoreremo,	Jeremiah 42:14 Saying, No, but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we will not see war, or be hearing the sound of the horn, or be in need of food; there we will make our living-place;
Geremia 42:15 ebbene, ascoltate allora la parola dell’Eterno, o superstiti di Giuda! Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Se siete decisi a recarvi in Egitto, e se andate a dimorarvi,	Jeremiah 42:15 Then give ear now to the word of the Lord, O you last of Judah: the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said, If your minds are fixed on going into Egypt and stopping there;
Geremia 42:16 la spada che temete vi raggiungerà là, nel paese d’Egitto, e la fame che paventate vi starà alle calcagna là in Egitto, e quivi morrete.	Jeremiah 42:16 Then it will come about that the sword, which is the cause of your fear, will overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and need of food, which you are fearing, will go after you there in Egypt; and there death will come to you.
Geremia 42:17 Tutti quelli che avranno deciso di andare in Egitto per dimorarvi, vi morranno di spada, di fame o di peste; nessun di loro scamperà, sfuggirà al male ch’io farò venire su loro.	Jeremiah 42:17 Such will be the fate of all the men whose minds are fixed on going into Egypt and stopping there; they will come to their end by the sword, by being short of food, and by disease: not one of them will keep his life or get away from the evil which I will send on them.
Geremia 42:18 Poiché così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Come la mia ira e il mio furore si son riversati sugli abitanti di Gerusalemme, così il mio furore si riverserà su voi, quando sarete entrati in Egitto; e sarete abbandonati alla esecrazione, alla desolazione, alla maledizione e all’obbrobrio, e non vedrete mai più questo luogo.	Jeremiah 42:18 For this is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said: As my wrath and passion have been let loose on the people of Jerusalem, so will my passion be let loose on you when you go into Egypt: and you will become an oath and a cause of wonder and a curse and a name of shame; and you will never see this place again.
Geremia 42:19 O superstiti di Giuda! l’Eterno parla a voi: Non andate in Egitto! Sappiate bene che quest’oggi io v’ho premuniti.	Jeremiah 42:19 The Lord has said about you, O last of Judah, Go not into Egypt: be certain that I have given witness to you this day.
Geremia 42:20 Voi ingannate voi stessi, a rischio della vostra vita; poiché m’avete mandato dall’Eterno, dal vostro Dio, dicendo: Prega l’Eterno, il nostro Dio, per noi; e tutto quello che l’Eterno, il nostro Dio, dirà, faccelo sapere esattamente, e noi lo faremo.	Jeremiah 42:20 For you have been acting with deceit in your hearts; for you sent me to the Lord your God, saying, Make prayer for us to the Lord our God, and give us word of everything he may say, and we will do it.
Geremia 42:21 E io ve l’ho fatto sapere quest’oggi; ma voi non ubbidite alla voce dell’Eterno, del vostro Dio, né a nulla di quanto egli m’ha mandato a dirvi.	Jeremiah 42:21 And this day I have made it clear to you, and you have not given ear to the voice of the Lord your God in anything for which he has sent me to you.
Geremia 42:22 Or dunque sappiate bene che voi morrete di spada, di fame e di peste, nel luogo dove desiderate andare per dimorarvi".	Jeremiah 42:22 And now be certain that you will come to your end by the sword and by being short of food and by disease, in the place to which you are pleased to go for a living-place.
