Geremia 37:1 Or il re Sedekia, figliuolo di Giosia, regnò in luogo di Conia, figliuolo di Joiakim, e fu costituito re nel paese di Giuda da Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia.	Jeremiah 37:1 And Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, became king in place of Coniah, the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, made king in the land of Judah.
Geremia 37:2 Ma né egli, né i suoi servitori, né il popolo del paese dettero ascolto alle parole che l’Eterno avea pronunziate per mezzo del profeta Geremia.	Jeremiah 37:2 But he and his servants and the people of the land did not give ear to the words of the Lord which he said by Jeremiah the prophet.
Geremia 37:3 Il re Sedekia mandò Jehucal, figliuolo di Scelemia, e Sofonia, figliuolo di Maaseia, il sacerdote, dal profeta Geremia, per dirgli: "Deh, prega per noi l’Eterno, l’Iddio nostro".	Jeremiah 37:3 And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal, the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Make prayer now to the Lord our God for us.
Geremia 37:4 Or Geremia andava e veniva fra il popolo, e non era ancora stato messo in prigione.	Jeremiah 37:4 (Now Jeremiah was going about among the people, for they had not put him in prison.
Geremia 37:5 L’esercito di Faraone era uscito d’Egitto; e come i Caldei che assediavano Gerusalemme n’ebbero ricevuto la notizia, tolsero l’assedio a Gerusalemme.	Jeremiah 37:5 And Pharaoh's army had come out from Egypt: and the Chaldaeans, who were attacking Jerusalem, hearing news of them, went away from Jerusalem.)
Geremia 37:6 Allora la parola dell’Eterno fu rivolta al profeta Geremia, in questi termini:	Jeremiah 37:6 Then the word of the Lord came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
Geremia 37:7 "Così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele: Dite così al re di Giuda che vi ha mandati da me per consultarmi: Ecco, l’esercito di Faraone ch’era uscito in vostro soccorso, è tornato nel suo paese, in Egitto;	Jeremiah 37:7 The Lord, the God of Israel, has said: This is what you are to say to the king of Judah who sent you to get directions from me: See, Pharaoh's army, which has come out to your help, will go back to Egypt, to their land.
Geremia 37:8 e i Caldei torneranno, e combatteranno contro questa città, la prenderanno, e la daranno alle fiamme.	Jeremiah 37:8 And the Chaldaeans will come back again and make war against this town and they will take it and put it on fire.
Geremia 37:9 Così parla l’Eterno: Non ingannate voi stessi dicendo: Certo, i Caldei se n’andranno da noi, perché non se n’andranno.	Jeremiah 37:9 The Lord has said, Have no false hopes, saying to yourselves, The Chaldaeans will go away from us: for they will not go away.
Geremia 37:10 Anzi, quand’anche voi sconfiggeste tutto l’esercito de’ Caldei che combatte contro di voi, e non ne rimanesse che degli uomini feriti, questi si leverebbero, ciascuno nella sua tenda, e darebbero questa città alle fiamme".	Jeremiah 37:10 For even if you had overcome all the army of the Chaldaeans fighting against you, and there were only wounded men among them, still they would get up, every man in his tent, and put this town on fire.
Geremia 37:11 Or quando l’esercito de’ Caldei si fu ritirato d’innanzi a Gerusalemme a motivo dell’esercito di Faraone,	Jeremiah 37:11 And it came about that when the Chaldaean army outside Jerusalem had gone away for fear of Pharaoh's army,
Geremia 37:12 Geremia uscì da Gerusalemme per andare nel paese di Beniamino, per ricever quivi la sua porzione in mezzo al popolo.	Jeremiah 37:12 Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, with the purpose of taking up his heritage there among the people.
Geremia 37:13 Ma quando fu alla porta di Beniamino, c’era quivi un capitano della guardia, per nome Ireia, figliuolo di Scelemia, figliuolo di Hanania, il quale arrestò il profeta Geremia, dicendo: "Tu vai ad arrenderti ai Caldei".	Jeremiah 37:13 But when he was at the Benjamin door, a captain of the watch named Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah, who was stationed there, put his hand on Jeremiah the prophet, saying, You are going to give yourself up to the Chaldaeans.
Geremia 37:14 E Geremia rispose: "E’ falso; io non vado ad arrendermi ai Caldei"; ma l’altro non gli diede ascolto; arrestò Geremia, e lo menò dai capi.	Jeremiah 37:14 Then Jeremiah said, That is not true; I am not going to the Chaldaeans. But he would not give ear to him: so Irijah made him prisoner and took him to the rulers.
Geremia 37:15 E i capi s’adirarono contro Geremia, lo percossero, e lo misero in prigione nella casa di Gionathan, il segretario; perché di quella avean fatto un carcere.	Jeremiah 37:15 And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah, and gave him blows and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison.
Geremia 37:16 Quando Geremia fu entrato nella prigione sotterranea fra le segrete, e vi fu rimasto molti giorni,	Jeremiah 37:16 So Jeremiah came into the hole of the prison, under the arches, and was there for a long time.
Geremia 37:17 il re Sedekia lo mandò a prendere, lo interrogò in casa sua, di nascosto, e gli disse: "C’è egli qualche parola da parte dell’Eterno?" E Geremia rispose: "Sì, c’è". E aggiunse: "Tu sarai dato in mano del re di Babilonia".	Jeremiah 37:17 Then King Zedekiah sent and got him out: and the king, questioning him secretly in his house, said, Is there any word from the Lord? And Jeremiah said, There is. Then he said, You will be given up into the hands of the king of Babylon.
Geremia 37:18 Geremia disse inoltre al re Sedekia: "Che peccato ho io commesso contro di te o contro i tuoi servitori o contro questo popolo, che m’avete messo in prigione?	Jeremiah 37:18 Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, What has been my sin against you or against your servants or against this people, that you have put me in prison?
Geremia 37:19 E dove sono ora i vostri profeti che vi profetavano dicendo: Il re di Babilonia non verrà contro di voi né contro questo paese?	Jeremiah 37:19 Where now are your prophets who said to you, The king of Babylon will not come against you and against this land?
Geremia 37:20 Ora ascolta, ti prego, o re, mio signore; e la mia supplicazione giunga bene accolta nel tuo cospetto; non mi far tornare nella casa di Gionathan lo scriba, sì ch’io vi muoia".	Jeremiah 37:20 And now be pleased to give ear, O my lord the king; let my prayer for help come before you, and do not make me go back to the house of Jonathan the scribe, for fear that I may come to my death there.
Geremia 37:21 Allora il re Sedekia ordinò che Geremia fosse custodito nel cortile della prigione, e gli fosse dato tutti i giorni un pane dalla via de’ fornai, finché tutto il pane della città fosse consumato. Così Geremia rimase nel cortile della prigione.	Jeremiah 37:21 Then by the order of Zedekiah the king, Jeremiah was put into the place of the armed watchmen, and they gave him every day a cake of bread from the street of the bread-makers, till all the bread in the town was used up. So Jeremiah was kept in the place of the armed watchmen.
