Job 40

Job 40:1 ^
Moreover Jehovah answered Job, and said,
Job 40:1 ^
L`Éternel, s`adressant à Job, dit:
Job 40:2 ^
Shall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty? He that argueth with God, let him answer it.
Job 40:2 ^
Celui qui dispute contre le Tout Puissant est-il convaincu? Celui qui conteste avec Dieu a-t-il une réplique à faire?
Job 40:3 ^
Then Job answered Jehovah, and said,
Job 40:3 ^
Job répondit à l`Éternel et dit:
Job 40:4 ^
Behold, I am of small account; What shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth.
Job 40:4 ^
Voici, je suis trop peu de chose; que te répliquerais-je? Je mets la main sur ma bouche.
Job 40:5 ^
Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; Yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.
Job 40:5 ^
J`ai parlé une fois, je ne répondrai plus; Deux fois, je n`ajouterai rien.
Job 40:6 ^
Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Job 40:6 ^
L`Éternel répondit à Job du milieu de la tempête et dit:
Job 40:7 ^
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
Job 40:7 ^
Ceins tes reins comme un vaillant homme; Je t`interrogerai, et tu m`instruiras.
Job 40:8 ^
Wilt thou even annul my judgment? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?
Job 40:8 ^
Anéantiras-tu jusqu`à ma justice? Me condamneras-tu pour te donner droit?
Job 40:9 ^
Or hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Job 40:9 ^
As-tu un bras comme celui de Dieu, Une voix tonnante comme la sienne?
Job 40:10 ^
Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity; And array thyself with honor and majesty.
Job 40:10 ^
Orne-toi de magnificence et de grandeur, Revêts-toi de splendeur et de gloire!
Job 40:11 ^
Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger; And look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.
Job 40:11 ^
Répands les flots de ta colère, Et d`un regard abaisse les hautains!
Job 40:12 ^
Look on every one that is proud, [and] bring him low; And tread down the wicked where they stand.
Job 40:12 ^
D`un regard humilie les hautains, Écrase sur place les méchants,
Job 40:13 ^
Hide them in the dust together; Bind their faces in the hidden [place].
Job 40:13 ^
Cache-les tous ensemble dans la poussière, Enferme leur front dans les ténèbres!
Job 40:14 ^
Then will I also confess of thee That thine own right hand can save thee.
Job 40:14 ^
Alors je rends hommage A la puissance de ta droite.
Job 40:15 ^
Behold now, behemoth, which I made as well as thee; He eateth grass as an ox.
Job 40:15 ^
Voici l`hippopotame, à qui j`ai donné la vie comme à toi! Il mange de l`herbe comme le boeuf.
Job 40:16 ^
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, And his force is in the muscles of his belly.
Job 40:16 ^
Le voici! Sa force est dans ses reins, Et sa vigueur dans les muscles de son ventre;
Job 40:17 ^
He moveth his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
Job 40:17 ^
Il plie sa queue aussi ferme qu`un cèdre; Les nerfs de ses cuisses sont entrelacés;
Job 40:18 ^
His bones are [as] tubes of brass; His limbs are like bars of iron.
Job 40:18 ^
Ses os sont des tubes d`airain, Ses membres sont comme des barres de fer.
Job 40:19 ^
He is the chief of the ways of God: He [only] that made him giveth him his sword.
Job 40:19 ^
Il est la première des oeuvres de Dieu; Celui qui l`a fait l`a pourvu d`un glaive.
Job 40:20 ^
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the beasts of the field do play.
Job 40:20 ^
Il trouve sa pâture dans les montagnes, Où se jouent toutes les bêtes des champs.
Job 40:21 ^
He lieth under the lotus-trees, In the covert of the reed, and the fen.
Job 40:21 ^
Il se couche sous les lotus, Au milieu des roseaux et des marécages;
Job 40:22 ^
The lotus-trees cover him with their shade; The willows of the brook compass him about.
Job 40:22 ^
Les lotus le couvrent de leur ombre, Les saules du torrent l`environnent.
Job 40:23 ^
Behold, if a river overflow, he trembleth not; He is confident, though a Jordan swell even to his mouth.
Job 40:23 ^
Que le fleuve vienne à déborder, il ne s`enfuit pas: Que le Jourdain se précipite dans sa gueule, il reste calme.
Job 40:24 ^
Shall any take him when he is on the watch, Or pierce through his nose with a snare?
Job 40:24 ^
Est-ce à force ouverte qu`on pourra le saisir? Est-ce au moyen de filets qu`on lui percera le nez?
