Lucas 1

Luke 1:1 ^
As a number of attempts have been made to put together in order an account of those events which took place among us,
Lucas 1:1 ^
HABIENDO muchos tentado á poner en orden la historia de las cosas que entre nosotros han sido ciertísimas,
Luke 1:2 ^
As they were handed down to us by those who saw them from the first and were preachers of the word,
Lucas 1:2 ^
Como nos lo enseñaron los que desde el principio lo vieron por sus ojos, y fueron ministros de la palabra;
Luke 1:3 ^
It seemed good to me, having made observation, with great care, of the direction of events in their order, to put the facts in writing for you, most noble Theophilus;
Lucas 1:3 ^
Me ha parecido también á mí, después de haber entendido todas las cosas desde el principio con diligencia, escribírtelas por orden, oh muy buen Teófilo,
Luke 1:4 ^
So that you might have certain knowledge of those things about which you were given teaching.
Lucas 1:4 ^
Para que conozcas la verdad de las cosas en las cuales has sido enseñado.
Luke 1:5 ^
In the days of Herod, king of Judaea, there was a certain priest, by name Zacharias, of the order of Abijah; and he had a wife of the family of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
Lucas 1:5 ^
HUBO en los días de Herodes, rey de Judea, un sacerdote llamado Zacarías, de la suerte de Abías; y su mujer, de las hijas de Aarón, llamada Elisabet.
Luke 1:6 ^
They were upright in the eyes of God, keeping all the rules and orders of God, and doing no wrong.
Lucas 1:6 ^
Y eran ambos justos delante de Dios, andando sin reprensión en todos los mandamientos y estatutos del Señor.
Luke 1:7 ^
And they were without children, because Elisabeth had never given birth, and they were at that time very old.
Lucas 1:7 ^
Y no tenían hijo, porque Elisabet era estéril, y ambos eran avanzados en días.
Luke 1:8 ^
Now it came about that in his turn he was acting as priest before God,
Lucas 1:8 ^
Y aconteció que ejerciendo Zacarías el sacerdocio delante de Dios por el orden de su vez,
Luke 1:9 ^
And as was the way of the priests, he had to go into the Temple to see to the burning of perfumes.
Lucas 1:9 ^
Conforme á la costumbre del sacerdocio, salió en suerte á poner el incienso, entrando en el templo del Señor.
Luke 1:10 ^
And all the people were offering prayers outside, at the time of the burning of perfumes.
Lucas 1:10 ^
Y toda la multitud del pueblo estaba fuera orando á la hora del incienso.
Luke 1:11 ^
And he saw an angel of the Lord in his place on the right side of the altar.
Lucas 1:11 ^
Y se le apareció el ángel del Señor puesto en pie á la derecha del altar del incienso.
Luke 1:12 ^
And Zacharias was troubled when he saw him, and fear came on him.
Lucas 1:12 ^
Y se turbó Zacarías viéndo le, y cayó temor sobre él.
Luke 1:13 ^
But the angel said, Have no fear, Zacharias, for your prayer has come to the ears of God, and your wife Elisabeth will have a son, and his name will be John.
Lucas 1:13 ^
Mas el ángel le dijo: Zacarías, no temas; porque tu oración ha sido oída, y tu mujer Elisabet te parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Juan.
Luke 1:14 ^
And you will be glad and have great delight; and numbers of people will have joy at his birth.
Lucas 1:14 ^
Y tendrás gozo y alegría, y muchos se gozarán de su nacimiento.
Luke 1:15 ^
For he will be great in the eyes of the Lord; he will not take wine or strong drink; and he will be full of the Spirit of God from his birth.
Lucas 1:15 ^
Porque será grande delante de Dios, y no beberá vino ni sidra; y será lleno del Espíritu Santo, aun desde el seno de su madre.
Luke 1:16 ^
And through him great numbers of the children of Israel will be turned to the Lord their God.
Lucas 1:16 ^
Y á muchos de los hijos de Israel convertirá al Señor Dios de ellos.
Luke 1:17 ^
And he will go before his face in the spirit and power of Elijah, turning the hearts of fathers to their children, and wrongdoers to the way of righteousness; to make ready a people whose hearts have been turned to the Lord.
Lucas 1:17 ^
Porque él irá delante de él con el espíritu y virtud de Elías, para convertir los corazones de los padres á los hijos, y los rebeldes á la prudencia de los justos, para aparejar al Señor un pueblo apercibido.
Luke 1:18 ^
And Zacharias said to the angel, How may I be certain of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is far on in years.
Lucas 1:18 ^
Y dijo Zacarías al ángel: ¿En qué conoceré esto? porque yo soy viejo, y mi mujer avanzada en días.
Luke 1:19 ^
And the angel, answering, said, I am Gabriel, whose place is before God; I have been sent to say these words to you and to give you this good news.
Lucas 1:19 ^
Y respondiendo el ángel le dijo: Yo soy Gabriel, que estoy delante de Dios; y soy enviado á hablarte, y á darte estas buenas nuevas.
Luke 1:20 ^
Now, see, you will be without voice or language till the day when these things come about, because you had not faith in my words, which will have effect at the right time.
Lucas 1:20 ^
Y he aquí estarás mudo y no podrás hablar, hasta el día que esto sea hecho, por cuanto no creíste á mis palabras, las cuales se cumplirán á su tiempo.
Luke 1:21 ^
And the people were waiting for Zacharias and were surprised because he was in the Temple for such a long time.
Lucas 1:21 ^
Y el pueblo estaba esperando á Zacarías, y se maravillaban de que él se detuviese en el templo.
Luke 1:22 ^
And when he came out he was not able to say anything, and they saw that he had seen a vision in the Temple; and he was making signs to them without words.
Lucas 1:22 ^
Y saliendo, no les podía hablar: y entendieron que había visto visión en el templo: y él les hablaba por señas, y quedó mudo.
Luke 1:23 ^
And when the days of his work in the Temple were ended, he went back to his house.
Lucas 1:23 ^
Y fué, que cumplidos los días de su oficio, se vino á su casa.
Luke 1:24 ^
After that time, Elisabeth, being certain that she was to become a mother, kept herself from men's eyes for five months, saying,
Lucas 1:24 ^
Y después de aquellos días concibió su mujer Elisabet, y se encubrió por cinco meses, diciendo:
Luke 1:25 ^
The Lord has done this to me, for his eyes were on me, to take away my shame in the eyes of men.
Lucas 1:25 ^
Porque el Señor me ha hecho así en los días en que miró para quitar mi afrenta entre los hombres.
Luke 1:26 ^
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town in Galilee, named Nazareth,
Lucas 1:26 ^
Y al sexto mes, el ángel Gabriel fué enviado de Dios á una ciudad de Galilea, llamada Nazaret,
Luke 1:27 ^
To a virgin who was to be married to a man named Joseph, of the family of David; and the name of the virgin was Mary.
Lucas 1:27 ^
A una virgen desposada con un varón que se llamaba José, de la casa de David: y el nombre de la virgen era María.
Luke 1:28 ^
And the angel came in to her and said, Peace be with you, to whom special grace has been given; the Lord is with you.
Lucas 1:28 ^
Y entrando el ángel á donde estaba, dijo, ¡Salve, muy favorecida! el Señor es contigo: bendita tú entre las mujeres.
Luke 1:29 ^
But she was greatly troubled at his words, and said to herself, What may be the purpose of these words?
Lucas 1:29 ^
Mas ella, cuando le vió, se turbó de sus palabras, y pensaba qué salutación fuese ésta.
Luke 1:30 ^
And the angel said to her, Have no fear, Mary, for you have God's approval.
Lucas 1:30 ^
Entonces el ángel le dijo: María, no temas, porque has hallado gracia cerca de Dios.
Luke 1:31 ^
And see, you will give birth to a son, and his name will be Jesus.
Lucas 1:31 ^
Y he aquí, concebirás en tu seno, y parirás un hijo, y llamarás su nombre JESUS.
Luke 1:32 ^
He will be great, and will be named the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God will give him the kingdom of David, his father:
Lucas 1:32 ^
Este será grande, y será llamado Hijo del Altísimo: y le dará el Señor Dios el trono de David su padre:
Luke 1:33 ^
He will have rule over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.
Lucas 1:33 ^
Y reinará en la casa de Jacob por siempre; y de su reino no habrá fin.
Luke 1:34 ^
And Mary said to the angel, How may this be, because I have had no knowledge of a man?
Lucas 1:34 ^
Entonces María dijo al ángel: ¿Cómo será esto? porque no conozco varón.
Luke 1:35 ^
And the angel in answer said to her, The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will come to rest on you, and so that which will come to birth will be named holy, Son of God.
Lucas 1:35 ^
Y respondiendo el ángel le dijo: El Espíritu Santo vendrá sobre ti, y la virtud del Altísimo te hará sombra; por lo cual también lo Santo que nacerá, será llamado Hijo de Dios.
Luke 1:36 ^
Even now Elisabeth, who is of your family, is to be a mother, though she is old: and this is the sixth month with her who was without children.
Lucas 1:36 ^
Y he aquí, Elisabet tu parienta, también ella ha concebido hijo en su vejez; y este es el sexto mes á ella que es llamada la estéril:
Luke 1:37 ^
For there is nothing which God is not able to do.
Lucas 1:37 ^
Porque ninguna cosa es imposible para Dios.
Luke 1:38 ^
And Mary said: I am the servant of the Lord; may it be to me as you say. And the angel went away.
Lucas 1:38 ^
Entonces María dijo: He aquí la sierva del Señor; hágase á mí conforme á tu palabra. Y el ángel partió de ella.
Luke 1:39 ^
Then Mary got up and went quickly into the high lands, to a town of Judah;
Lucas 1:39 ^
En aquellos días levantándose María, fué á la montaña con priesa, á una ciudad de Judá;
Luke 1:40 ^
And went into the house of Zacharias and took Elisabeth in her arms.
Lucas 1:40 ^
Y entró en casa de Zacarías, y saludó á Elisabet.
Luke 1:41 ^
And when the voice of Mary came to the ears of Elisabeth, the baby made a sudden move inside her; then Elisabeth was full of the Holy Spirit,
Lucas 1:41 ^
Y aconteció, que como oyó Elisabet la salutación de María, la criatura saltó en su vientre; y Elisabet fué llena del Espíritu Santo,
Luke 1:42 ^
And she said with a loud voice: May blessing be on you among women, and a blessing on the child of your body.
Lucas 1:42 ^
Y exclamó á gran voz, y dijo. Bendita tú entre las mujeres, y bendito el fruto de tu vientre.
Luke 1:43 ^
How is it that the mother of my Lord comes to me?
Lucas 1:43 ^
¿Y de dónde esto á mí, que la madre de mi Señor venga á mí?
Luke 1:44 ^
For, truly, when the sound of your voice came to my ears, the baby in my body made a sudden move for joy.
Lucas 1:44 ^
Porque he aquí, como llegó la voz de tu salutación á mis oídos, la criatura saltó de alegría en mi vientre.
Luke 1:45 ^
Happy will she be who had faith that the things which the Lord has said to her will be done.
Lucas 1:45 ^
Y bienaventurada la que creyó, porque se cumplirán las cosas que le fueron dichas de parte del Señor.
Luke 1:46 ^
And Mary said: My soul gives glory to God;
Lucas 1:46 ^
Entonces María dijo: engrandece mi alma al Señor;
Luke 1:47 ^
My spirit is glad in God my Saviour.
Lucas 1:47 ^
Y mi espíritu se alegró en Dios mi Salvador,
Luke 1:48 ^
For he has had pity on his servant, though she is poor and lowly placed: and from this hour will all generations give witness to the blessing which has come to me.
Lucas 1:48 ^
Porque ha mirado á la bajeza de su criada; Porque he aquí, desde ahora me dirán bienaventurada todas las generaciones.
Luke 1:49 ^
For he who is strong has done great things for me; and holy is his name.
Lucas 1:49 ^
Porque me ha hecho grandes cosas el Poderoso; Y santo es su nombre.
Luke 1:50 ^
His mercy is for all generations in whom is the fear of him.
Lucas 1:50 ^
Y su misericordia de generación á generación A los que le temen.
Luke 1:51 ^
With his arm he has done acts of power; he has put to flight those who have pride in their hearts.
Lucas 1:51 ^
Hizo valentía con su brazo: Esparció los soberbios del pensamiento de su corazón.
Luke 1:52 ^
He has put down kings from their seats, lifting up on high the men of low degree.
Lucas 1:52 ^
Quitó los poderosos de los tronos, Y levantó á los humildes.
Luke 1:53 ^
Those who had no food he made full of good things; the men of wealth he sent away with nothing in their hands;
Lucas 1:53 ^
A los hambrientos hinchió de bienes; Y á los ricos envió vacíos.
Luke 1:54 ^
His help he has given to Israel, his servant, so that he might keep in mind his mercy to Abraham and his seed for ever,
Lucas 1:54 ^
Recibió á Israel su siervo, Acordandose de la misericordia.
Luke 1:55 ^
As he gave his word to our fathers.
Lucas 1:55 ^
Como habló á nuestros padres A Abraham y á su simiente para siempre.
Luke 1:56 ^
And Mary was with her for about three months and then went back to her house.
Lucas 1:56 ^
Y se quedó María con ella como tres meses: después se volvió á su casa.
Luke 1:57 ^
Now it was time for Elisabeth to give birth, and she had a son.
Lucas 1:57 ^
Y á Elisabet se le cumplió el tiempo de parir, y parió un hijo.
Luke 1:58 ^
And it came to the ears of her neighbours and relations that the Lord had been very good to her, and they took part in her joy.
Lucas 1:58 ^
Y oyeron los vecinos y los parientes que Dios había hecho con ella grande misericordia, y se alegraron con ella.
Luke 1:59 ^
And on the eighth day they came to see to the circumcision of the child, and they would have given him the name of Zacharias, his father's name;
Lucas 1:59 ^
Y aconteció, que al octavo día vinieron para circuncidar al niño; y le llamaban del nombre de su padre, Zacarías.
Luke 1:60 ^
But his mother made answer and said, No, his name is John.
Lucas 1:60 ^
Y respondiendo su madre, dijo: No; sino Juan será llamado.
Luke 1:61 ^
And they said, Not one of your relations has that name.
Lucas 1:61 ^
Y le dijeron: ¿Por qué? nadie hay en tu parentela que se llame de este nombre.
Luke 1:62 ^
And they made signs to his father, to say what name was to be given to him.
Lucas 1:62 ^
Y hablaron por señas á su padre, cómo le quería llamar.
Luke 1:63 ^
And he sent for writing materials and put down: His name is John; and they were all surprised.
Lucas 1:63 ^
Y demandando la tablilla, escribió, diciendo: Juan es su nombre. Y todos se maravillaron.
Luke 1:64 ^
And straight away his mouth was open and his tongue was free and he gave praise to God.
Lucas 1:64 ^
Y luego fué abierta su boca y su lengua, y habló bendiciendo á Dios.
Luke 1:65 ^
And fear came on all those who were living round about them: and there was much talk about all these things in all the hill-country of Judaea.
Lucas 1:65 ^
Y fué un temor sobre todos los vecinos de ellos; y en todas las montañas de Judea fueron divulgadas todas estas cosas.
Luke 1:66 ^
And all who had word of them kept them in their minds and said, What will this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him.
Lucas 1:66 ^
Y todos los que las oían, las conservaban en su corazón, diciendo: ¿Quién será este niño? Y la mano del Señor estaba con él.
Luke 1:67 ^
And his father, Zacharias, was full of the Holy Spirit, and with the voice of a prophet said these words:
Lucas 1:67 ^
Y Zacarías su padre fué lleno de Espíritu Santo, y profetizó, diciendo:
Luke 1:68 ^
Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has come to his people and made them free,
Lucas 1:68 ^
Bendito el Señor Dios de Israel, Que ha visitado y hecho redención á su pueblo,
Luke 1:69 ^
Lifting up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David,
Lucas 1:69 ^
Y nos alzó un cuerno de salvación En la casa de David su siervo,
Luke 1:70 ^
(As he said, by the mouth of his holy prophets, from the earliest times,)
Lucas 1:70 ^
Como habló por boca de sus santos profetas que fueron desde el principio:
Luke 1:71 ^
Salvation from those who are against us, and from the hands of those who have hate for us;
Lucas 1:71 ^
Salvación de nuestros enemigos, y de mano de todos los que nos aborrecieron;
Luke 1:72 ^
To do acts of mercy to our fathers and to keep in mind his holy word,
Lucas 1:72 ^
Para hacer misericordia con nuestros padres, Y acordándose de su santo pacto;
Luke 1:73 ^
The oath which he made to Abraham, our father,
Lucas 1:73 ^
Del juramento que juró á Abraham nuestro padre, Que nos había de dar,
Luke 1:74 ^
That we, being made free from the fear of those who are against us, might give him worship,
Lucas 1:74 ^
Que sin temor librados de nuestros enemigos, Le serviríamos
Luke 1:75 ^
In righteousness and holy living before him all our days.
Lucas 1:75 ^
En santidad y en justicia delante de él, todos los días nuestros.
Luke 1:76 ^
And you, child, will be named the prophet of the Most High: you will go before the face of the Lord, to make ready his ways;
Lucas 1:76 ^
Y tú, niño, profeta del Altísimo serás llamado; Porque irás ante la faz del Señor, para aparejar sus caminos;
Luke 1:77 ^
To give knowledge of salvation to his people, through the forgiveness of sins,
Lucas 1:77 ^
Dando conocimiento de salud á su pueblo, Para remisión de sus pecados,
Luke 1:78 ^
Because of the loving mercies of our God, by which the dawn from heaven has come to us,
Lucas 1:78 ^
Por las entrañas de misericordia de nuestro Dios, Con que nos visitó de lo alto el Oriente,
Luke 1:79 ^
To give light to those in dark places, and in the shade of death, so that our feet may be guided into the way of peace.
Lucas 1:79 ^
Para dar luz á los que habitan en tinieblas y en sombra de muerte; Para encaminar nuestros pies por camino de paz.
Luke 1:80 ^
And the child became tall, and strong in spirit; and he was living in the waste land till the day when he came before the eyes of Israel.
Lucas 1:80 ^
Y el niño crecía, y se fortalecía en espíritu: y estuvo en los desiertos hasta el día que se mostró á Israel.
