| For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles,-- | Por esta razão eu, Paulo, o prisioneiro de Cristo Jesus por amor de vós gentios... |
| if so be that ye have heard of the dispensation of that grace of God which was given me to you-ward; | Se é que tendes ouvido a dispensação da graça de Deus, que para convosco me foi dada; |
| how that by revelation was made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words, | como pela revelação me foi manifestado o mistério, conforme acima em poucas palavras vos escrevi, |
| whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ; | pelo que, quando ledes, podeis perceber a minha compreensão do mistério de Cristo, |
| which in other generation was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; | o qual em outras gerações não foi manifestado aos filhos dos homens, como se revelou agora no Espírito aos seus santos apóstolos e profetas, |
| [to wit], that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, | a saber, que os gentios são co-herdeiros e membros do mesmo corpo e co-participantes da promessa em Cristo Jesus por meio do evangelho; |
| whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power. | do qual fui feito ministro, segundo o dom da graça de Deus, que me foi dada conforme a operação do seu poder. |
| Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; | A mim, o mínimo de todos os santos, me foi dada esta graça de anunciar aos gentios as riquezas inescrutáveis de Cristo, |
| and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things; | e demonstrar a todos qual seja a dispensação do mistério que desde os séculos esteve oculto em Deus, que tudo criou, |
| to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly [places] might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God, | para que agora seja manifestada, por meio da igreja, aos principados e potestades nas regiões celestes, |
| according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: | segundo o eterno propósito que fez em Cristo Jesus nosso Senhor, |
| in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. | no qual temos ousadia e acesso em confiança, pela nossa fé nele. |
| Wherefore I ask that ye may not faint at my tribulations for you, which are your glory. | Portanto vos peço que não desfaleçais diante das minhas tribulações por vós, as quais são a vossa glória. |
| For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father, | Por esta razão dobro os meus joelhos perante o Pai, |
| from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, | do qual toda família nos céus e na terra toma o nome, |
| that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; | para que, segundo as riquezas da sua glória, vos conceda que sejais robustecidos com poder pelo seu Espírito no homem interior; |
| that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, | que Cristo habite pela fé nos vossos corações, a fim de que, estando arraigados e fundados em amor, |
| may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, | possais compreender, com todos os santos, qual seja a largura, e o comprimento, e a altura, e a profundidade, |
| and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God. | e conhecer o amor de Cristo, que excede todo o entendimento, para que sejais cheios até a inteira plenitude de Deus. |
| Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, | Ora, àquele que é poderoso para fazer tudo muito mais abundantemente além daquilo que pedimos ou pensamos, segundo o poder que em nós opera, |
| unto him [be] the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen. | a esse seja glória na igreja e em Cristo Jesus, por todas as gerações, para todo o sempre. Amém. |
