| And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there who had his hand withered. | Poi entrò di nuovo in una sinagoga; e quivi era un uomo che avea la mano secca. |
| And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. | E l’osservavano per vedere se lo guarirebbe in giorno di sabato, per poterlo accusare. |
| And he saith unto the man that had his hand withered, Stand forth. | Ed egli disse all’uomo che avea la mano secca: Lèvati là nel mezzo! |
| And he saith unto them, Is it lawful on the sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to kill? But they held their peace. | Poi disse loro: E’ egli lecito, in giorno di sabato, di far del bene o di far del male? di salvare una persona o di ucciderla? Ma quelli tacevano. |
| And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their heart, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth; and his hand was restored. | Allora Gesù, guardatili tutt’intorno con indignazione, contristato per l’induramento del cuor loro, disse all’uomo: Stendi la mano! Egli la stese, e la sua mano tornò sana. |
| And the Pharisees went out, and straightway with the Herodians took counsel against him, how they might destroy him. | E i Farisei, usciti, tennero subito consiglio con gli Erodiani contro di lui, con lo scopo di farlo morire. |
| And Jesus with his disciples withdrew to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed; and from Judaea, | Poi Gesù co’ suoi discepoli si ritirò verso il mare; e dalla Galilea gran moltitudine lo seguitò; |
| and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and beyond the Jordan, and about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came unto him. | e dalla Giudea e da Gerusalemme e dalla Idumea e da oltre il Giordano e dai dintorni di Tiro e di Sidone una gran folla, udendo quante cose egli facea, venne a lui. |
| And he spake to his disciples, that a little boat should wait on him because of the crowd, lest they should throng him: | Ed egli disse ai suoi discepoli che gli tenessero sempre pronta una barchetta a motivo della calca, che talora non l’affollasse. |
| for he had healed many; insomuch that as many as had plagues pressed upon him that they might touch him. | Perché egli ne aveva guariti molti; cosicché tutti quelli che aveano qualche flagello gli si precipitavano addosso per toccarlo. |
| And the unclean spirits, whensoever they beheld him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. | E gli spiriti immondi, quando lo vedevano, si gittavano davanti a lui e gridavano: Tu sei il Figliuol di Dio! |
| And he charged them much that they should not make him known. | Ed egli li sgridava forte, affinché non facessero conoscere chi egli era. |
| And he goeth up into the mountain, and calleth unto him whom he himself would; and they went unto him. | Poi Gesù salì sul monte e chiamò a sé quei ch’egli stesso volle, ed essi andarono a lui. |
| And he appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, | E ne costituì dodici per tenerli con sé |
| and to have authority to cast out demons: | e per mandarli a predicare con la potestà di cacciare i demoni. |
| and Simon he surnamed Peter; | Costituì dunque i dodici, cioè: Simone, al quale mise nome Pietro; |
| and James the [son] of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and them he surnamed Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder: | e Giacomo di Zebedeo e Giovanni fratello di Giacomo, ai quali pose nome Boanerges, che vuol dire figliuoli del tuono; |
| and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean, | e Andrea e Filippo e Bartolomeo e Matteo e Toma e Giacomo di Alfeo e Taddeo e Simone il Cananeo |
| and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. And he cometh into a house. | e Giuda Iscariot quello che poi lo tradì. |
| And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. | Poi entrò in una casa, e la moltitudine si adunò di nuovo, talché egli ed i suoi non potevan neppur prender cibo. |
| And when his friends heard it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. | or i suoi parenti, udito ciò, vennero per impadronirsi di lui, perché dicevano: |
| And the scribes that came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and, By the prince of the demons casteth he out the demons. | E’ fuori di sé. E gli scribi, ch’eran discesi da Gerusalemme, dicevano: Egli ha Beelzebub, ed è per l’aiuto del principe dei demoni, ch’ei caccia i demoni. |
| And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? | Ma egli, chiamatili a sé, diceva loro in parabole: Come può Satana cacciar Satana? |
| And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. | E se un regno è diviso in parti contrarie, quel regno non può durare. |
| And if a house be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. | E se una casa è divisa in parti contrarie, quella casa non potrà reggere. |
| And if Satan hath rise up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. | E se Satana insorge contro se stesso ed è diviso, non può reggere, ma deve finire. |
| But no one can enter into the house of the strong [man], and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong [man]; and then he will spoil his house. | Ed anzi niuno può entrar nella casa dell’uomo forte e rapirgli le sue masserizie, se prima non abbia legato l’uomo forte; allora soltanto gli prenderà la casa. |
| Verily I say unto you, All their sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and their blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: | In verità io vi dico: Ai figliuoli degli uomini saranno rimessi tutti i peccati e qualunque bestemmia avranno proferita; |
| but whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin: | ma chiunque avrà bestemmiato contro lo Spirito Santo, non ha remissione in eterno, ma è reo d’un peccato eterno. |
| because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. | Or egli parlava così perché dicevano: Ha uno spirito immondo. |
| And there come his mother and his brethren; and, standing without, they sent unto him, calling him. | E giunsero sua madre ed i suoi fratelli; e fermatisi fuori, lo mandarono a chiamare. |
| And a multitude was sitting about him; and they say unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. | Una moltitudine gli stava seduta attorno, quando gli fu detto: Ecco tua madre, i tuoi fratelli e le tue sorelle là fuori che ti cercano. |
| And he answereth them, and saith, Who is my mother and my brethren? | Ed egli rispose loro: Chi è mia madre? e chi sono i miei fratelli? |
| And looking round on them that sat round about him, he saith, Behold, my mother and my brethren! | E guardati in giro coloro che gli sedevano d’intorno, disse: Ecco mia madre e i miei fratelli! |
| For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. | Chiunque avrà fatta la volontà di Dio, mi è fratello, sorella e madre. |
