Romani 4:1 Che diremo dunque che l’antenato nostro Abramo abbia ottenuto secondo la carne?	Romans 4:1 What, then, may we say that Abraham, our father after the flesh, has got?
Romani 4:2 Poiché se Abramo è stato giustificato per le opere, egli avrebbe di che gloriarsi; ma dinanzi a Dio egli non ha di che gloriarsi; infatti, che dice la Scrittura?	Romans 4:2 For if Abraham got righteousness by works, he has reason for pride; but not before God.
Romani 4:3 Or Abramo credette a Dio, e ciò gli fu messo in conto di giustizia.	Romans 4:3 But what does it say in the holy Writings? And Abraham had faith in God, and it was put to his account as righteousness.
Romani 4:4 Or a chi opera, la mercede non è messa in conto di grazia, ma di debito;	Romans 4:4 Now, the reward is credited to him who does works, not as of grace but as a debt.
Romani 4:5 mentre a chi non opera ma crede in colui che giustifica l’empio, la sua fede gli è messa in conto di giustizia.	Romans 4:5 But to him who without working has faith in him who gives righteousness to the evil-doer, his faith is put to his account as righteousness.
Romani 4:6 Così pure Davide proclama la beatitudine dell’uomo al quale Iddio imputa la giustizia senz’opere, dicendo:	Romans 4:6 As David says that there is a blessing on the man to whose account God puts righteousness without works, saying,
Romani 4:7 Beati quelli le cui iniquità son perdonate, e i cui peccati sono coperti.	Romans 4:7 Happy are those who have forgiveness for their wrongdoing, and whose sins are covered.
Romani 4:8 Beato l’uomo al quale il Signore non imputa il peccato.	Romans 4:8 Happy is the man against whom no sin is recorded by the Lord.
Romani 4:9 Questa beatitudine è ella soltanto per i circoncisi o anche per gli incirconcisi? Poiché noi diciamo che la fede fu ad Abramo messa in conto di giustizia.	Romans 4:9 Is this blessing, then, for the circumcision only, or in the same way for those who have not circumcision? for we say that the faith of Abraham was put to his account as righteousness.
Romani 4:10 In che modo dunque gli fu messa in conto? Quand’era circonciso, o quand’era incirconciso? Non quand’era circonciso, ma quand’era incirconciso;	Romans 4:10 How, then, was it judged? when he had circumcision, or when he had it not? Not when he had it, but when he did not have it:
Romani 4:11 poi ricevette il segno della circoncisione, qual suggello della giustizia ottenuta per la fede che avea quand’era incirconciso, affinché fosse il padre di tutti quelli che credono essendo incirconcisi, onde anche a loro sia messa in conto la giustizia;	Romans 4:11 And he was given the sign of circumcision as a witness of the faith which he had before he underwent circumcision: so that he might be the father of all those who have faith, though they have not circumcision, and so that righteousness might be put to their account;
Romani 4:12 e il padre dei circoncisi, di quelli, cioè, che non solo sono circoncisi, ma seguono anche le orme della fede del nostro padre Abramo quand’era ancora incirconciso.	Romans 4:12 And the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who keep to the way of that faith which our father Abraham had before he underwent circumcision.
Romani 4:13 Poiché la promessa d’esser erede del mondo non fu fatta ad Abramo o alla sua progenie in base alla legge, ma in base alla giustizia che vien dalla fede.	Romans 4:13 For God's word, that the earth would be his heritage, was given to Abraham, not through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
Romani 4:14 Perché, se quelli che son della legge sono eredi, la fede è resa vana, e la promessa è annullata;	Romans 4:14 For if they who are of the law are the people who get the heritage, then faith is made of no use, and the word of God has no power;
Romani 4:15 poiché la legge genera ira; ma dove non c’è legge, non c’è neppur trasgressione.	Romans 4:15 For the outcome of the law is wrath; but where there is no law it will not be broken.
Romani 4:16 Perciò l’eredità è per fede, affinché sia per grazia; onde la promessa sia sicura per tutta la progenie; non soltanto per quella che è sotto la legge, ma anche per quella che ha la fede d’Abramo, il quale è padre di noi tutti	Romans 4:16 For this reason it is of faith, so that it may be through grace; and so that the word of God may be certain to all the seed; not only to that which is of the law, but to that which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,
Romani 4:17 (secondo che è scritto: Io ti ho costituito padre di molte nazioni) dinanzi al Dio a cui egli credette, il quale fa rivivere i morti, e chiama le cose che non sono, come se fossero.	Romans 4:17 (As it is said in the holy Writings, I have made you a father of a number of nations) before him in whom he had faith, that is, God, who gives life to the dead, and to whom the things which are not are as if they were.
Romani 4:18 Egli, sperando contro speranza, credette, per diventar padre di molte nazioni, secondo quel che gli era stato detto: Così sarà la tua progenie.	Romans 4:18 Who without reason for hope, in faith went on hoping, so that he became the father of a number of nations, as it had been said, So will your seed be.
Romani 4:19 E senza venir meno nella fede, egli vide bensì che il suo corpo era svigorito (avea quasi cent’anni), e che Sara non era più in grado d’esser madre;	Romans 4:19 And not being feeble in faith though his body seemed to him little better than dead (he being about a hundred years old) and Sarah was no longer able to have children:
Romani 4:20 ma, dinanzi alla promessa di Dio, non vacillò per incredulità, ma fu fortificato per la sua fede dando gloria a Dio	Romans 4:20 Still, he did not give up faith in the undertaking of God, but was made strong by faith, giving glory to God,
Romani 4:21 ed essendo pienamente convinto che ciò che avea promesso, Egli era anche potente da effettuarlo.	Romans 4:21 And being certain that God was able to keep his word.
Romani 4:22 Ond’è che ciò gli fu messo in conto di giustizia.	Romans 4:22 For which reason it was put to his account as righteousness.
Romani 4:23 Or non per lui soltanto sta scritto che questo gli fu messo in conto di giustizia,	Romans 4:23 Now, it was not because of him only that this was said,
Romani 4:24 ma anche per noi ai quali sarà così messo in conto; per noi che crediamo in Colui che ha risuscitato dai morti Gesù, nostro Signore,	Romans 4:24 But for us in addition, to whose account it will be put, if we have faith in him who made Jesus our Lord come back again from the dead,
Romani 4:25 il quale è stato dato a cagione delle nostre offese, ed è risuscitato a cagione della nostra giustificazione.	Romans 4:25 Who was put to death for our evil-doing, and came to life again so that we might have righteousness.
