Giovanni 2:1 Tre giorni dopo, si fecero delle nozze in Cana di Galilea, e c’era la madre di Gesù.	John 2:1 On the third day two people were going to be married at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there:
Giovanni 2:2 E Gesù pure fu invitato co’ suoi discepoli alle nozze.	John 2:2 And Jesus with his disciples came as guests.
Giovanni 2:3 E venuto a mancare il vino, la madre di Gesù gli disse: Non han più vino.	John 2:3 When they had not enough wine, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine.
Giovanni 2:4 E Gesù le disse: Che v’è fra me e te, o donna? L’ora mia non è ancora venuta.	John 2:4 Jesus said to her, Woman, this is not your business; my time is still to come.
Giovanni 2:5 Sua madre disse ai servitori: Fate tutto quel che vi dirà.	John 2:5 His mother said to the servants, Whatever he says to you, do it.
Giovanni 2:6 Or c’erano quivi sei pile di pietra, destinate alla purificazione de’ Giudei, le quali contenevano ciascuna due o tre misure.	John 2:6 Now six pots of stone, every one taking two or three firkins of water, were placed there for the purpose of washing, as is the way of the Jews.
Giovanni 2:7 Gesù disse loro: Empite d’acqua le pile. Ed essi le empirono fino all’orlo.	John 2:7 Jesus said to the servants, Make the pots full of water. And they made them full to the top.
Giovanni 2:8 Poi disse loro: Ora attingete, e portatene al maestro di tavola. Ed essi gliene portarono.	John 2:8 Then he said to them, Now take some, and give it to the master of the feast. So they took it to him.
Giovanni 2:9 E quando il maestro di tavola ebbe assaggiata l’acqua ch’era diventata vino (or egli non sapea donde venisse, ma ben lo sapeano i servitori che aveano attinto l’acqua), chiamò lo sposo e gli disse:	John 2:9 After tasting the water which had now become wine, the master of the feast (having no idea where it came from, though it was clear to the servants who took the water out) sent for the newly-married man,
Giovanni 2:10 Ognuno serve prima il vin buono; e quando si è bevuto largamente, il men buono; tu, invece, hai serbato il vin buono fino ad ora.	John 2:10 And said to him, Every man first puts out his best wine and when all have had enough he puts out what is not so good; but you have kept the good wine till now.
Giovanni 2:11 Gesù fece questo primo de’ suoi miracoli in Cana di Galilea, e manifestò la sua gloria; e i suoi discepoli credettero in lui.	John 2:11 This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee and let his glory be seen openly; and his disciples put their faith in him.
Giovanni 2:12 Dopo questo, scese a Capernaum, egli con sua madre, co’ suoi fratelli e i suoi discepoli; e stettero quivi non molti giorni.	John 2:12 After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples, and they were there not more than two or three days.
Giovanni 2:13 Or la Pasqua de’ Giudei era vicina, e Gesù salì a Gerusalemme.	John 2:13 The time of the Passover of the Jews was near and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Giovanni 2:14 E trovò nel tempio quelli che vendevano buoi e pecore e colombi, e i cambiamonete seduti.	John 2:14 And there in the Temple he saw men trading in oxen and sheep and doves, and he saw the changers of money in their seats:
Giovanni 2:15 E fatta una sferza di cordicelle, scacciò tutti fuori del tempio, pecore e buoi; e sparpagliò il danaro dei cambiamonete, e rovesciò le tavole;	John 2:15 And he made a whip of small cords and put them all out of the Temple, with the sheep and the oxen, sending in all directions the small money of the changers and overturning their tables;
Giovanni 2:16 e a quelli che vendeano i colombi, disse: Portate via di qui queste cose; non fate della casa del Padre mio una casa di mercato.	John 2:16 And to those who were trading in doves he said, Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a market.
Giovanni 2:17 E i suoi discepoli si ricordarono che sta scritto: Lo zelo della tua casa mi consuma.	John 2:17 And it came to the minds of the disciples that the Writings say, I am on fire with passion for your house.
Giovanni 2:18 I Giudei allora presero a dirgli: Qual segno ci mostri tu che fai queste cose?	John 2:18 Then the Jews put this question to him: What sign of authority have you to give us, seeing that you do these things?
Giovanni 2:19 Gesù rispose loro: Disfate questo tempio, e in tre giorni lo farò risorgere.	John 2:19 And Jesus said to them, Send destruction on this Temple and I will put it up again in three days.
Giovanni 2:20 Allora i Giudei dissero: Quarantasei anni è durata la fabbrica di questo tempio e tu lo faresti risorgere in tre giorni?	John 2:20 The Jews said, The building of this Temple took forty-six years; and you will put it up in three days!
Giovanni 2:21 Ma egli parlava del tempio del suo corpo.	John 2:21 But his words were about that holy building which was his body.
Giovanni 2:22 Quando dunque fu risorto da’ morti, i suoi discepoli si ricordarono ch’egli avea detto questo; e credettero alla Scrittura e alla parola che Gesù avea detta.	John 2:22 So when he had come back again from the dead, the memory of these words came back to the disciples, and they had faith in the holy Writings and in the word which Jesus had said.
Giovanni 2:23 Mentr’egli era in Gerusalemme alla festa di Pasqua, molti credettero nel suo nome, vedendo i miracoli ch’egli faceva.	John 2:23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the feast of the Passover, a great number of people came to have faith in his name, after seeing the signs which he did.
Giovanni 2:24 Ma Gesù non si fidava di loro, perché conosceva tutti,	John 2:24 But Jesus did not have faith in them, because he had knowledge of them all.
Giovanni 2:25 e perché non avea bisogno della testimonianza d’alcuno sull’uomo, poiché egli stesso conosceva quello che era nell’uomo.	John 2:25 He had no need for any witness about man; for he himself had knowledge of what was in man.
