Deuteronomio 20:1 Quando andrai alla guerra contro i tuoi nemici e vedrai cavalli e carri e gente in maggior numero di te, non li temere, perché l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, che ti fece salire dal paese d’Egitto, è teco.	Deuteronomy 20:1 When thou goest forth to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, [and] a people more than thou, thou shalt not be afraid of them; for Jehovah thy God is with thee, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
Deuteronomio 20:2 E quando sarete sul punto di dar battaglia, il sacerdote si farà avanti, parlerà al popolo	Deuteronomy 20:2 And it shall be, when ye draw nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,
Deuteronomio 20:3 e gli dirà: "Ascolta, Israele! Voi state oggi per impegnar battaglia coi vostri nemici; il vostro cuore non venga meno; non temete, non vi smarrite e non vi spaventate dinanzi a loro,	Deuteronomy 20:3 and shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye draw nigh this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint; fear not, nor tremble, neither be ye affrighted at them;
Deuteronomio 20:4 perché l’Eterno, il vostro Dio, è colui che marcia con voi per combattere per voi contro i vostri nemici, e per salvarvi".	Deuteronomy 20:4 for Jehovah your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
Deuteronomio 20:5 Poi gli ufficiali parleranno al popolo, dicendo: "C’è qualcuno che abbia edificata una casa nuova e non l’abbia ancora inaugurata? Vada, torni a casa sua, onde non abbia a morire in battaglia, e un altro inauguri la casa.	Deuteronomy 20:5 And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.
Deuteronomio 20:6 C’è qualcuno che abbia piantato una vigna e non ne abbia ancora goduto il frutto? Vada, torni a casa sua, onde non abbia a morire in battaglia, e un altro ne goda il frutto.	Deuteronomy 20:6 And what man is there that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not used the fruit thereof? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man use the fruit thereof.
Deuteronomio 20:7 C’è qualcuno che si sia fidanzato con una donna e non l’abbia ancora presa? Vada, torni a casa sua, onde non abbia a morire in battaglia, e un altro se la prenda".	Deuteronomy 20:7 And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.
Deuteronomio 20:8 E gli ufficiali parleranno ancora al popolo, dicendo: "C’è qualcuno che abbia paura e senta venirgli meno il cuore? Vada, torni a casa sua, onde il cuore de’ suoi fratelli non abbia ad avvilirsi come il suo".	Deuteronomy 20:8 And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and faint-hearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren's heart melt as his heart.
Deuteronomio 20:9 E come gli ufficiali avranno finito di parlare al popolo, costituiranno i capi delle schiere alla testa del popolo.	Deuteronomy 20:9 And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people, that they shall appoint captains of hosts at the head of the people.
Deuteronomio 20:10 Quando ti avvicinerai a una città per attaccarla, le offrirai prima la pace.	Deuteronomy 20:10 When thou drawest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.
Deuteronomio 20:11 E se acconsente alla pace e t’apre le sue porte, tutto il popolo che vi si troverà ti sarà tributario e soggetto.	Deuteronomy 20:11 And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that are found therein shall become tributary unto thee, and shall serve thee.
Deuteronomio 20:12 Ma s’essa non vuol far pace teco e ti vuol far guerra, allora l’assedierai;	Deuteronomy 20:12 And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:
Deuteronomio 20:13 e quando l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, te l’avrà data nelle mani, ne metterai a fil di spada tutti i maschi;	Deuteronomy 20:13 and when Jehovah thy God delivereth it into thy hand, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:
Deuteronomio 20:14 ma le donne, i bambini, il bestiame e tutto ciò che sarà nella città, tutto quanto il suo bottino, te li prenderai come tua preda; e mangerai il bottino de’ tuoi nemici, che l’Eterno, l’Iddio tuo, t’avrà dato.	Deuteronomy 20:14 but the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take for a prey unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee.
Deuteronomio 20:15 Così farai per tutte le città che sono molto lontane da te, e che non sono città di queste nazioni.	Deuteronomy 20:15 Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations.
Deuteronomio 20:16 Ma nelle città di questi popoli che l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti da come eredità, non conserverai in vita nulla che respiri;	Deuteronomy 20:16 But of the cities of these peoples, that Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth;
Deuteronomio 20:17 ma voterai a completo sterminio gli Hittei, gli Amorei, i Cananei, i Ferezei, gli Hivvei e i Gebusei, come l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti ha comandato di fare;	Deuteronomy 20:17 but thou shalt utterly destroy them: the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; as Jehovah thy God hath commanded thee;
Deuteronomio 20:18 affinché essi non v’insegnino a imitare tutte le abominazioni che fanno per i loro dèi, e voi non pecchiate contro l’Eterno, ch’è il vostro Dio.	Deuteronomy 20:18 that they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so would ye sin against Jehovah your God.
Deuteronomio 20:19 Quando cingerai d’assedio una città per lungo tempo, attaccandola per prenderla, non ne distruggerai gli alberi a colpi di scure; ne mangerai il frutto, ma non li abbatterai; poiché l’albero della campagna è forse un uomo che tu l’abbia ad includere nell’assedio?	Deuteronomy 20:19 When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by wielding an axe against them; for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down; for is the tree of the field man, that it should be besieged of thee?
Deuteronomio 20:20 Potrai però distruggere e abbattere gli alberi che saprai non esser alberi da frutto, e ne costruirai delle opere d’assedio contro la città che fa guerra teco, finch’essa cada.	Deuteronomy 20:20 Only the trees of which thou knowest that they are not trees for food, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it fall.
