Matthew 8:1 ^
And when he had come down from the mountain, great numbers of people came after him.
Matteo 8:1 ^
Or quando egli fu sceso dal monte, molte turbe lo seguirono.
Matthew 8:2 ^
And a leper came and gave him worship, saying, Lord, if it is your pleasure, you have power to make me clean.
Matteo 8:2 ^
Ed ecco un lebbroso, accostatosi, gli si prostrò dinanzi dicendo: Signore, se vuoi, tu puoi mondarmi.
Matthew 8:3 ^
And he put his hand on him, saying, It is my pleasure; be clean. And straight away he was made clean.
Matteo 8:3 ^
E Gesù, stesa la mano, lo toccò dicendo: Lo voglio, sii mondato. E in quell’istante egli fu mondato dalla sua lebbra.
Matthew 8:4 ^
And Jesus said to him, See that you say nothing about this to anyone; but go and let the priest see you and make the offering which was ordered by Moses, for a witness to them.
Matteo 8:4 ^
E Gesù gli disse: Guarda di non dirlo a nessuno: ma va’, mostrati al sacerdote e fa’ l’offerta che Mosè ha prescritto; e ciò serva loro di testimonianza.
Matthew 8:5 ^
And when Jesus was come into Capernaum, a certain captain came to him with a request,
Matteo 8:5 ^
Or quand’egli fu entrato in Capernaum, un centurione venne a lui pregandolo e dicendo:
Matthew 8:6 ^
Saying, Lord, my servant is ill in bed at the house, with no power in his body, and in great pain.
Matteo 8:6 ^
Signore, il mio servitore giace in casa paralitico, gravemente tormentato.
Matthew 8:7 ^
And he said to him, I will come and make him well.
Matteo 8:7 ^
Gesù gli disse: Io verrò e lo guarirò. Ma il centurione, rispondendo disse:
Matthew 8:8 ^
And the captain in answer said, Lord, I am not good enough for you to come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant will be made well.
Matteo 8:8 ^
Signore, io non son degno che tu entri sotto al mio tetto ma di’ soltanto una parola e il mio servitore sarà guarito.
Matthew 8:9 ^
Because I myself am a man under authority, having under me fighting men; and I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.
Matteo 8:9 ^
Poiché anch’io son uomo sottoposto ad altri ed ho sotto di me dei soldati; e dico a uno: Va’, ed egli va; e ad un altro: Vieni, ed egli viene; e al mio servo: Fa’ questo, ed egli lo fa.
Matthew 8:10 ^
And when these words came to the ears of Jesus he was surprised, and said to those who came after him, Truly I say to you, I have not seen such great faith, no, not in Israel.
Matteo 8:10 ^
E Gesù, udito questo, ne restò maravigliato, e disse a quelli che lo seguivano: Io vi dico in verità che in nessuno, in Israele, ho trovato cotanta fede.
Matthew 8:11 ^
And I say to you that numbers will come from the east and the west, and will take their seats with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven:
Matteo 8:11 ^
Or io vi dico che molti verranno di Levante e di Ponente e sederanno a tavola con Abramo e Isacco e Giacobbe, nel regno dei cieli;
Matthew 8:12 ^
But the sons of the kingdom will be put out into the dark, and there will be weeping and cries of pain.
Matteo 8:12 ^
ma i figliuoli del regno saranno gettati nelle tenebre di fuori. Quivi sarà il pianto e lo stridor dei denti.
Matthew 8:13 ^
And Jesus said to the captain, Go in peace; as your faith is, so let it be done to you. And the servant was made well in that hour.
Matteo 8:13 ^
E Gesù disse al centurione: Va’: e come hai creduto, siati fatto. E il servitore fu guarito in quell’ora stessa.
Matthew 8:14 ^
And when Jesus had come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother in bed, very ill.
Matteo 8:14 ^
Poi Gesù, entrato nella casa di Pietro, vide la suocera di lui che giaceva in letto con la febbre; ed egli le toccò la mano e la febbre la lasciò.
Matthew 8:15 ^
And he put his hand on hers and the disease went from her, and she got up and took care of his needs.
Matteo 8:15 ^
Ella si alzò e si mise a servirlo.
Matthew 8:16 ^
And in the evening, they took to him a number of people who had evil spirits; and he sent the spirits out of them with a word, and made well all who were ill;
Matteo 8:16 ^
Poi, venuta la sera, gli presentarono molti indemoniati; ed egli, con la parola, scacciò gli spiriti e guarì tutti i malati,
Matthew 8:17 ^
So that the word of Isaiah the prophet might come true: He himself took our pains and our diseases.
Matteo 8:17 ^
affinché si adempisse quel che fu detto per bocca del profeta Isaia: Egli stesso ha preso le nostre infermità, ed ha portato le nostre malattie.
Matthew 8:18 ^
Now when Jesus saw a great mass of people about him, he gave an order to go to the other side.
Matteo 8:18 ^
Or Gesù, vedendo una gran folla intorno a sé, comandò che si passasse all’altra riva.
Matthew 8:19 ^
And there came a scribe and said to him, Master, I will come after you wherever you go.
Matteo 8:19 ^
Allora uno scriba, accostatosi, gli disse: Maestro, io ti seguirò dovunque tu vada.
Matthew 8:20 ^
And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of heaven have a resting-place; but the Son of man has nowhere to put his head.
Matteo 8:20 ^
E Gesù gli disse: Le volpi hanno delle tane e gli uccelli del cielo dei nidi, ma il Figliuol dell’uomo non ha dove posare il capo.
Matthew 8:21 ^
And another of the disciples said to him, Lord, let me first go and give the last honours to my father.
Matteo 8:21 ^
E un altro dei discepoli gli disse: Signore, permettimi d’andare prima a seppellir mio padre.
Matthew 8:22 ^
But Jesus said to him, Come after me; and let the dead take care of their dead.
Matteo 8:22 ^
Ma Gesù gli disse: Seguitami, e lascia i morti seppellite i loro morti.
Matthew 8:23 ^
And when he had got into a boat, his disciples went after him.
Matteo 8:23 ^
Ed essendo egli entrato nella barca, i suoi discepoli lo seguirono.
Matthew 8:24 ^
And there came up a great storm in the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was sleeping.
Matteo 8:24 ^
Ed ecco farsi in mare una così gran burrasca, che la barca era coperta dalle onde; ma Gesù dormiva.
Matthew 8:25 ^
And they came to him, and, awaking him, said, Help, Lord; destruction is near.
Matteo 8:25 ^
E i suoi discepoli, accostatisi, lo svegliarono dicendo: Signore, salvaci, siam perduti.
Matthew 8:26 ^
And he said to them, Why are you full of fear, O you of little faith? Then he got up and gave orders to the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Matteo 8:26 ^
Ed egli disse loro: Perché avete paura, o gente di poca fede? Allora, levatosi, sgridò i venti ed il mare, e si fece gran bonaccia.
Matthew 8:27 ^
And the men were full of wonder, saying, What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea do his orders?
Matteo 8:27 ^
E quegli uomini ne restaron maravigliati e dicevano: Che uomo è mai questo che anche i venti e il mare gli ubbidiscono?
Matthew 8:28 ^
And when he had come to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, there came out to him from the place of the dead, two who had evil spirits, so violent that no man was able to go that way.
Matteo 8:28 ^
E quando fu giunto all’altra riva, nel paese de’ Gadareni, gli si fecero incontro due indemoniati, usciti dai sepolcri, così furiosi, che niuno potea passar per quella via.
Matthew 8:29 ^
And they gave a loud cry, saying, What have we to do with you, you Son of God? Have you come here to give us punishment before the time?
Matteo 8:29 ^
Ed ecco si misero a gridare: Che v’è fra noi e te, Figliuol di Dio? Sei tu venuto qua prima del tempo per tormentarci?
Matthew 8:30 ^
Now there was, some distance away, a great herd of pigs taking their food.
Matteo 8:30 ^
Or lungi da loro v’era un gran branco di porci che pasceva.
Matthew 8:31 ^
And the evil spirits made strong prayers to him, saying, If you send us out, let us go into the herd of pigs.
Matteo 8:31 ^
E i demoni lo pregavano dicendo: Se tu ci scacci, mandaci in quel branco di porci.
Matthew 8:32 ^
And he said to them, Go. And they came out, and went into the pigs; and the herd went rushing down a sharp slope into the sea and came to their end in the water.
Matteo 8:32 ^
Ed egli disse loro: Andate. Ed essi, usciti, se ne andarono nei porci; ed ecco tutto il branco si gettò a precipizio giù nel mare, e perirono nelle acque.
Matthew 8:33 ^
And their keepers went in flight to the town and gave an account of everything, and of the men who had the evil spirits.
Matteo 8:33 ^
E quelli che li pasturavano fuggirono; e andati nella città raccontarono ogni cosa e il fatto degl’indemoniati.
Matthew 8:34 ^
And all the town came out to Jesus; and seeing him they made request that he would go away from their part of the country.
Matteo 8:34 ^
Ed ecco tutta la città uscì incontro a Gesù; e, come lo videro lo pregarono che si partisse dai loro confini.
