Deuteronomy 2:1 Then we went back, journeying into the waste land by the way to the Red Sea, as the Lord had said to me: and we were a long time going round Mount Seir.	Deuteronomio 2:1 Poi tornammo indietro e partimmo per il deserto in direzione del mar Rosso, come l’Eterno m’avea detto, e girammo attorno al monte Seir per lungo tempo.
Deuteronomy 2:2 And the Lord said to me,	Deuteronomio 2:2 E l’Eterno mi parlò dicendo:
Deuteronomy 2:3 You have been journeying round this mountain long enough: now go to the north;	Deuteronomio 2:3 "Avete girato abbastanza attorno a questo monte; volgetevi verso settentrione.
Deuteronomy 2:4 And give the people orders, saying, You are about to go through the land of your brothers, the children of Esau, who are living in Seir; and they will have fear of you; so take care what you do:	Deuteronomio 2:4 E da’ quest’ordine al popolo: Voi state per passare i confini de’ figliuoli d’Esaù, vostri fratelli, che dimorano in Seir; ed essi avranno paura di voi; state quindi bene in guardia;
Deuteronomy 2:5 Make no attack on them, for I will not give you any of their land, not even space enough for a man's foot: because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for his heritage.	Deuteronomio 2:5 non movete lor guerra, poiché del loro paese io non vi darò neppur quanto ne può calcare un piede; giacché ho dato il monte di Seir a Esaù, come sua proprietà.
Deuteronomy 2:6 You may get food for your needs from them for a price, and water for drinking.	Deuteronomio 2:6 Comprerete da loro a danaro contante le vettovaglie che mangerete, e comprerete pure da loro con tanto danaro l’acqua che berrete.
Deuteronomy 2:7 For the blessing of the Lord your God has been on you in all the work of your hands: he has knowledge of your wanderings through this great waste: these forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have been short of nothing.	Deuteronomio 2:7 Poiché l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti ha benedetto in tutta l’opera delle tue mani, t’ha seguito nel tuo viaggio attraverso questo gran deserto; l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, è stato teco durante questi quarant’anni, e non t’è mancato nulla".
Deuteronomy 2:8 So we went on past our brothers, the children of Esau, living in Seir, by the road through the Arabah, from Elath and Ezion-geber. And turning, we went by the road through the waste land of Moab.	Deuteronomio 2:8 Così passammo, lasciando a distanza i figliuoli di Esaù, nostri fratelli, che abitano in Seir, ed evitando la via della pianura, come pure Elath ed Etsion-Gheber. Poi ci voltammo, e c’incamminammo verso il deserto di Moab.
Deuteronomy 2:9 And the Lord said to me, Make no attack on Moab and do not go to war with them, for I will not give you any of his land: because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for their heritage.	Deuteronomio 2:9 E l’Eterno mi disse: "Non attaccare Moab e non gli muover guerra, poiché io non ti darò nulla da possedere nel suo paese, giacché ho dato Ar ai figliuoli di Lot, come loro proprietà.
Deuteronomy 2:10 (In the past the Emim were living there; a great people, equal in numbers to the Anakim and as tall;	Deuteronomio 2:10 (Prima vi abitavano gli Emim: popolo grande, numeroso, alto di statura come gli Anakim.
Deuteronomy 2:11 They are numbered among the Rephaim, like the Anakim; but are named Emim by the Moabites.	Deuteronomio 2:11 Erano anch’essi tenuti in conto di Refaim, come gli Anakim; ma i Moabiti li chiamavano Emim.
Deuteronomy 2:12 And the Horites in earlier times were living in Seir, but the children of Esau took their place; they sent destruction on them and took their land for themselves, as Israel did to the land of his heritage which the Lord gave them.)	Deuteronomio 2:12 Anche Seir era prima abitata dagli Horei; ma i figliuoli di Esaù li cacciarono, li distrussero e si stabilirono in luogo loro, come ha fatto Israele nel paese che possiede e che l’Eterno gli ha dato).
Deuteronomy 2:13 Get up now, and go over the stream Zered. So we went over the stream Zered.	Deuteronomio 2:13 Ora levatevi, e passate il torrente di Zered". E noi passammo il torrente di Zered.
Deuteronomy 2:14 Thirty-eight years had gone by from the time when we came away from Kadesh-barnea till we went over the stream Zered; by that time all the generation of the men of war among us were dead, as the Lord had said.	Deuteronomio 2:14 Or il tempo che durarono le nostre marce, da Kades-Barnea al passaggio del torrente di Zered, fu di trentotto anni, finché tutta quella generazione degli uomini di guerra scomparve interamente dal campo, come l’Eterno l’avea loro giurato.
Deuteronomy 2:15 For the hand of the Lord was against them, working their destruction, till all were dead.	Deuteronomio 2:15 E infatti la mano dell’Eterno fu contro a loro per sterminarli dal campo, finché fossero del tutto scomparsi.
Deuteronomy 2:16 So when death had overtaken all the men of war among the people,	Deuteronomio 2:16 E quando la morte ebbe finito di consumare tutti quegli uomini di guerra,
Deuteronomy 2:17 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,	Deuteronomio 2:17 l’Eterno mi parlò dicendo:
Deuteronomy 2:18 You are about to go by Ar, the limit of the country of Moab;	Deuteronomio 2:18 "Oggi tu stai per passare i confini di Moab, ad Ar, e ti avvicinerai ai figliuoli di Ammon.
Deuteronomy 2:19 And when you come near the land of the children of Ammon, give them no cause of trouble and do not make war on them, for I will not give you any of the land of the children of Ammon for your heritage: because I have given it to the children of Lot.	Deuteronomio 2:19 Non li attaccare e non muover loro guerra, perché io non ti darò nulla da possedere nel paese de’ figliuoli di Ammon, giacché l’ho dato ai figliuoli di Lot, come loro proprietà.
Deuteronomy 2:20 (That land is said to have been a land of the Rephaim, for Rephaim had been living there in earlier times, but they were named Zamzummim by the Ammonites;	Deuteronomio 2:20 (Anche questo paese era reputato paese di Refaim: prima vi abitavano dei Refaim, e gli Ammoniti li chiamavano Zamzummim:
Deuteronomy 2:21 They were a great people, tall as the Anakim, and equal to them in number; but the Lord sent destruction on them and the children of Ammon took their place, living in their land;	Deuteronomio 2:21 popolo grande, numeroso, alto di statura come gli Anakim; ma l’Eterno li distrusse davanti agli Ammoniti, che li cacciarono e si stabilirono nel luogo loro.
Deuteronomy 2:22 As he did for the children of Esau living in Seir, when he sent destruction on the Horites before them, and they took their land where they are living to this day:	Deuteronomio 2:22 Così l’Eterno avea fatto per i figliuoli d’Esaù che abitano in Seir, quando distrusse gli Horei davanti a loro; essi li cacciarono e si stabilirono nel luogo loro, e vi son rimasti fino al dì d’oggi.
Deuteronomy 2:23 And the Avvim, living in the small towns as far as Gaza, came to destruction by the hands of the Caphtorim who came out from Caphtor and took their land.)	Deuteronomio 2:23 E anche gli Avvei, che dimoravano in villaggi fino a Gaza, furon distrutti dai Caftorei, usciti da Caftor, i quali si stabilirono nel luogo loro).
Deuteronomy 2:24 Get up now, and go on your journey, crossing over the valley of the Arnon: see, I have given into your hands Sihon, the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and all his land: go forward to make it yours, and make war on him,	Deuteronomio 2:24 Levatevi, partite, e passate la valle dell’Arnon; ecco, io do in tuo potere Sihon, l’Amoreo, re di Heshbon, e il suo paese; comincia a prenderne possesso, e muovigli guerra.
Deuteronomy 2:25 From now on I will put the fear of you in all peoples under heaven, who, hearing of you, will be shaking with fear and grief of heart because of you.	Deuteronomio 2:25 Oggi comincerò a ispirare paura e terrore di te ai popoli che sono sotto il cielo intero, sì che, all’udire la tua fama, tremeranno e saranno presi d’angoscia dinanzi a te".
Deuteronomy 2:26 Then from the waste land of Kedemoth I sent representatives to Sihon, king of Heshbon, with words of peace, saying,	Deuteronomio 2:26 Allora mandai ambasciatori dal deserto di Kedemoth a Sihon, re di Heshbon, con parole di pace, e gli feci dire:
Deuteronomy 2:27 Let me go through your land: I will keep to the highway, not turning to the right or to the left;	Deuteronomio 2:27 "Lasciami passare per il tuo paese; io camminerò per la strada maestra, senza volgermi né a destra né a sinistra.
Deuteronomy 2:28 Let me have food, at a price, for my needs, and water for drinking: only let me go through on foot;	Deuteronomio 2:28 Tu mi venderai a danaro contante le vettovaglie che mangerò, e mi darai per danaro contante l’acqua che berrò; permettimi semplicemente il transito
Deuteronomy 2:29 As the children of Esau did for me in Seir and the Moabites in Ar; till I have gone over Jordan into the land which the Lord our God is giving us.	Deuteronomio 2:29 (come m’han fatto i figliuoli d’Esaù che abitano in Seir e i Moabiti che abitano in Ar), finché io abbia passato il Giordano per entrare nel paese che l’Eterno, il nostro Dio, ci dà".
Deuteronomy 2:30 But Sihon, king of Heshbon, would not let us go through; for the Lord your God made his spirit hard and his heart strong, so that he might give him up into your hands as at this day.	Deuteronomio 2:30 Ma Sihon, re di Heshbon, non ci volle lasciar passare per il suo paese, perché l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, gli aveva indurato lo spirito e reso ostinato il cuore, per dartelo nelle mani, come difatti oggi si vede.
Deuteronomy 2:31 And the Lord said to me, See, from now on I have given Sihon and his land into your hands: go forward now to take his land and make it yours.	Deuteronomio 2:31 E l’Eterno mi disse: "Vedi, ho principiato a dare in tuo potere Sihon e il suo paese; comincia la conquista, impadronendoti dei suo paese".
Deuteronomy 2:32 Then Sihon came out against us with all his people, to make an attack on us at Jahaz.	Deuteronomio 2:32 Allora Sihon uscì contro a noi con tutta la sua gente, per darci battaglia a Iahats.
Deuteronomy 2:33 And the Lord our God gave him into our hands; and we overcame him and his sons and all his people.	Deuteronomio 2:33 E l’Eterno, l’Iddio nostro, ce lo diè nelle mani, e noi ponemmo in rotta lui, i suoi figliuoli e tutta la sua gente.
Deuteronomy 2:34 At that time we took all his towns, and gave them over to complete destruction, together with men, women, and children; we had no mercy on any:	Deuteronomio 2:34 E in quel tempo prendemmo tutte le sue città e votammo allo sterminio ogni città, uomini, donne, bambini; non vi lasciammo anima viva.
Deuteronomy 2:35 Only the cattle we took for ourselves, with the goods from the towns we had taken.	Deuteronomio 2:35 Ma riserbammo come nostra preda il bestiame e le spoglie delle città che avevamo prese.
Deuteronomy 2:36 From Aroer on the edge of the valley of the Arnon and from the town in the valley as far as Gilead, no town was strong enough to keep us out; the Lord our God gave them all into our hands:	Deuteronomio 2:36 Da Aroer, che è sull’orlo della valle dell’Arnon e dalla città che è nella valle, fino a Galaad, non ci fu città che fosse troppo forte per noi: l’Eterno, l’Iddio nostro, le diè tutte in nostro potere.
Deuteronomy 2:37 But you did not go near the land of the children of Ammon, that is, all the side of the river Jabbok or the towns of the hill-country, wherever the Lord our God had said we were not to go.	Deuteronomio 2:37 Ma non ti avvicinasti al paese de’ figliuoli di Ammon, ad alcun posto toccato dal torrente di Iabbok, alle città del paese montuoso, a tutti i luoghi che l’Eterno, il nostro Dio, ci avea proibito d’attaccare.
