Nehemiah 2	Neemia 2
Nehemiah 2:1 And it came about in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, when wine was before him, that I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had never before been sad when the king was present.	Neemia 2:1 L’anno ventesimo del re Artaserse, nel mese di Nisan, come il vino stava dinanzi al re, io presi il vino e glielo porsi. Or io non ero mai stato triste in sua presenza.
Nehemiah 2:2 And the king said to me, Why is your face sad, seeing that you are not ill? this is nothing but sorrow of heart. Then I was full of fear;	Neemia 2:2 E il re mi disse: "Perché hai l’aspetto triste? eppure non sei malato; non può esser altro che un’afflizione del cuore". Allora io ebbi grandissima paura,
Nehemiah 2:3 And said to the king, May the king be living for ever: is it not natural for my face to be sad, when the town, the place where the bodies of my fathers are at rest, has been made waste and its doorways burned with fire?	Neemia 2:3 e dissi al re: "Viva il re in eterno! Come potrebbe il mio aspetto non esser triste quando la città dove sono i sepolcri de’ miei padri è distrutta e le sue porte son consumate dal fuoco?"
Nehemiah 2:4 Then the king said to me, What is your desire? So I made prayer to the God of heaven.	Neemia 2:4 E il re mi disse: "Che cosa domandi?" Allora io pregai l’Iddio del cielo;
Nehemiah 2:5 And I said to the king, If it is the king's pleasure, and if your servant has your approval, send me to Judah, to the town where the bodies of my fathers are at rest, so that I may take in hand the building of it.	Neemia 2:5 poi risposi al re: "Se così piace al re e il tuo servo ha incontrato favore agli occhi tuoi, mandami in Giudea, nella città dove sono i sepolcri de’ miei padri, perché io la riedifichi".
Nehemiah 2:6 And the king said to me (the queen being seated by his side), How long will your journey take, and when will you come back? So the king was pleased to send me, and I gave him a fixed time.	Neemia 2:6 E il re, che avea la regina seduta allato, mi disse: "Quanto durerà il tuo viaggio? e quando ritornerai?" La cosa piacque al re, ei mi lasciò andare, e io gli fissai un termine di tempo.
Nehemiah 2:7 Further, I said to the king, If it is the king's pleasure, let letters be given to me for the rulers across the river, so that they may let me go through till I come to Judah;	Neemia 2:7 Poi dissi al re: "Se così piace al re, mi si diano delle lettere per i governatori d’oltre il fiume affinché mi lascino passare ed entrare in Giuda,
Nehemiah 2:8 And a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king's park, so that he may give me wood to make boards for the doors of the tower of the house, and for the wall of the town, and for the house which is to be mine. And the king gave me this, for the hand of my God was on me.	Neemia 2:8 e una lettera per Asaf, guardiano del parco del re, affinché mi dia del legname per costruire le porte del castello annesso alla casa dell’Eterno, per le mura della città, e per la casa che abiterò io". E il re mi diede le lettere, perché la benefica mano del mio Dio era su me.
Nehemiah 2:9 Then I came to the rulers of the lands across the river and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent with me captains of the army and horsemen.	Neemia 2:9 Io giunsi presso i governatori d’oltre il fiume, e diedi loro le lettere del re. Il re avea mandati meco dei capi dell’esercito e dei cavalieri.
Nehemiah 2:10 And Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, hearing of it, were greatly troubled because a man had come to the help of the children of Israel.	Neemia 2:10 E quando Samballat, lo Horonita, e Tobia, il servo Ammonita, furono informati del mio arrivo, ebbero gran dispiacere della venuta d’un uomo che procurava il bene de’ figliuoli d’Israele.
Nehemiah 2:11 So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days.	Neemia 2:11 Così giunsi a Gerusalemme; e quando v’ebbi passato tre giorni,
Nehemiah 2:12 And in the night I got up, taking with me a small band of men; I said nothing to any man of what God had put into my heart to do for Jerusalem: and I had no beast with me but the one on which I was seated.	Neemia 2:12 mi levai di notte, presi meco pochi uomini, e non dissi nulla ad alcuno di quello che Dio m’avea messo in cuore di fare per Gerusalemme; non avevo meco altro giumento che quello ch’io cavalcavo.
Nehemiah 2:13 And I went out by night, through the doorway of the valley, and past the dragon's water-spring as far as the place where waste material was put, viewing the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down, and the doorways which had been burned with fire.	Neemia 2:13 Ed uscii di notte per la porta della Valle, e mi diressi verso la sorgente del Dragone e la porta del Letame, considerando le mura di Gerusalemme, com’erano rotte e come le sue porte erano consumate dal fuoco.
Nehemiah 2:14 Then I went on to the door of the fountain and to the king's pool: but there was no room for my beast to get through.	Neemia 2:14 Passai presso la porta della Sorgente e il serbatoio del Re, ma non v’era posto per cui il giumento ch’io cavalcavo potesse passare.
Nehemiah 2:15 Then in the night, I went up by the stream, viewing the wall; then turning back, I went in by the door in the valley, and so came back.	Neemia 2:15 Allora risalii di notte la valle, sempre considerando le mura; poi, rientrato per la porta della Valle, me ne tornai a casa.
Nehemiah 2:16 And the chiefs had no knowledge of where I had been or what I was doing; and I had not then said anything to the Jews or to the priests or the great ones or the chiefs or the rest of those who were doing the work.	Neemia 2:16 I magistrati non sapevano né dov’io fossi andato né che cosa facessi. Fino a quel momento, io non avevo detto nulla né ai Giudei né ai sacerdoti né ai notabili né ai magistrati né ad alcuno di quelli che si occupavano di lavori.
Nehemiah 2:17 Then I said to them, You see what a bad condition we are in; how Jerusalem is a waste, and its doorways burned with fire: come, let us get to work, building up the wall of Jerusalem, so that we may no longer be put to shame.	Neemia 2:17 Allora io dissi loro: "Voi vedete la misera condizione nella quale ci troviamo; Gerusalemme è distrutta, e le sue porte son consumate dal fuoco! Venite, riedifichiamo le mura di Gerusalemme, e non sarem più nell’obbrobrio!"
Nehemiah 2:18 Then I gave them an account of how the hand of my God was on me, helping me; and of the king's words which he had said to me. And they said, Let us get to work on the building. So they made their hands strong for the good work.	Neemia 2:18 E narrai loro come la benefica mano del mio Dio era stata su me, senza omettere le parole che il re m’avea dette. E quelli dissero: "Leviamoci, e mettiamoci a costruire!" E si fecero animo per metter mano alla buona impresa.
Nehemiah 2:19 But Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, hearing of it, made sport of us, laughing at us and saying, What are you doing? will you go against the king?	Neemia 2:19 Ma quando Samballat, lo Horonita, e Tobia, il servo Ammonita, e Ghescem, l’Arabo, seppero la cosa, si fecero beffe di noi, e ci sprezzarono dicendo: "Che cosa state facendo? Vi volete forse ribellare contro al re?"
Nehemiah 2:20 Then answering them I said, The God of heaven, he will be our help; so we his servants will go on with our building: but you have no part or right or any name in Jerusalem.	Neemia 2:20 Allora io risposi e dissi loro: "L’Iddio del cielo è quegli che ci darà buon successo. Noi, suoi servi, ci leveremo e costruiremo; ma voi non avete né parte né diritto né ricordanza in Gerusalemme".
