Joshua 5:1 Now when the news came to all the kings of the Amorites on the west side of Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites living by the sea, how the Lord had made the waters of Jordan dry before the children of Israel, till they had gone across, their hearts became like water, and there was no more spirit in them, because of the children of Israel.	Josua 5:1 Da nun alle Könige der Amoriter, die jenseit des Jordans gegen Abend wohnten, und alle Könige der Kanaaniter am Meer hörten, wie der HERR das Wasser des Jordans hatte ausgetrocknet vor den Kindern Israel, bis sie hinübergingen, verzagte ihr Herz, und war kein Mut mehr in ihnen vor den Kindern Israel.
Joshua 5:2 At that time the Lord said to Joshua, Make yourself stone knives and give the children of Israel circumcision a second time.	Josua 5:2 Zu der Zeit sprach der HERR zu Josua: Mach dir steinerne Messer und beschneide die Kinder Israel zum andernmal.
Joshua 5:3 So Joshua made stone knives and gave the children of Israel circumcision at Gibeath-ha-araloth.	Josua 5:3 Da machte sich Josua steinerne Messer und beschnitt die Kinder Israel auf dem Hügel Araloth.
Joshua 5:4 And this is the reason why Joshua did so: all the males of the people who came out of Egypt, all the fighting-men, had been overtaken by death in the waste land on the way, after they came out of Egypt.	Josua 5:4 Und das ist die Sache, darum Josua sie beschnitt: Alles Volk, das aus Ägypten gezogen war, die Männer, alle Kriegsleute, waren gestorben in der Wüste auf dem Wege, da sie aus Ägypten zogen.
Joshua 5:5 All the people who came out had undergone circumcision; but all the people whose birth had taken place in the waste land on their journey from Egypt had not.	Josua 5:5 Denn alles Volk, das auszog war beschnitten; aber alles Volk, das in der Wüste geboren war, auf dem Wege, da sie aus Ägypten zogen, das war nicht beschnitten.
Joshua 5:6 For the children of Israel were wandering in the waste land for forty years, till all the nation, that is, all the fighting-men, who had come out of Egypt, were dead, because they did not give ear to the voice of the Lord: to whom the Lord said, with an oath, that he would not let them see the land which the Lord had given his word to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.	Josua 5:6 Denn die Kinder Israel wandelten vierzig Jahre in der Wüste, bis daß das ganze Volk der Kriegsmänner, die aus Ägypten gezogen waren, umkamen, darum daß sie der Stimme des HERRN nicht gehorcht hatten; wie denn der HERR ihnen geschworen hatte uns zu geben, ein Land, darin Milch und Honig fließt.
Joshua 5:7 And their children, who came up in their place, now underwent circumcision by the hands of Joshua, not having had it before: for there had been no circumcision on the journey.	Josua 5:7 Deren Kinder, die an ihrer Statt waren aufgekommen, beschnitt Josua; denn sie hatten Vorhaut und waren auf dem Wege nicht beschnitten.
Joshua 5:8 So when all the nation had undergone circumcision, they kept in their tents till they were well again.	Josua 5:8 Und da das ganze Volk beschnitten war, blieben sie an ihrem Ort im Lager, bis sie heil wurden.
Joshua 5:9 And the Lord said to Joshua, Today the shame of Egypt has been rolled away from you. So that place was named Gilgal, to this day.	Josua 5:9 Und der HERR sprach zu Josua: Heute habe ich die Schande Ägyptens von euch gewendet. Und diese Stätte ward Gilgal genannt bis auf diesen Tag.
Joshua 5:10 So the children of Israel put up their tents in Gilgal; and they kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, in the lowlands of Jericho.	Josua 5:10 Und als die Kinder Israel also in Gilgal das Lager hatten, hielten sie Passah am vierzehnten Tage des Monats am Abend auf dem Gefilde Jerichos
Joshua 5:11 And on the day after the Passover, they had for their food the produce of the land, unleavened cakes and dry grain on the same day.	Josua 5:11 und aßen vom Getreide des Landes am Tag nach dem Passah, nämlich ungesäuertes Brot und geröstete Körner, ebendesselben Tages.
Joshua 5:12 And there was no more manna from the day after they had for their food the produce of the land; the children of Israel had manna no longer, but that year the produce of the land of Canaan was their food.	Josua 5:12 Und das Man hörte auf des andern Tages, da sie des Landes Getreide aßen, daß die Kinder Israel kein Man mehr hatten, sondern aßen vom Getreide des Landes Kanaan in demselben Jahr.
Joshua 5:13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, lifting up his eyes he saw a man in front of him, with his sword uncovered in his hand: and Joshua went up to him and said, Are you for us or against us?	Josua 5:13 Und es begab sich, da Josua bei Jericho war, daß er seine Augen aufhob und ward gewahr, daß ein Mann ihm gegenüberstand und hatte sein bloßes Schwert in seiner Hand. Und Josua ging zu ihm und sprach zu ihm: Gehörst du uns an oder unsern Feinden?
Joshua 5:14 And he said, No; but I have come as captain of the armies of the Lord. Then Joshua, falling down with his face to the earth in worship, said, What has my lord to say to his servant?	Josua 5:14 Er sprach: Nein, sondern ich bin ein Fürst über das Heer des HERRN und bin jetzt gekommen. Da fiel Josua auf sein Angesicht zur Erde und betete an und sprach zu ihm: Was sagt mein HERR seinem Knecht?
Joshua 5:15 And the captain of the Lord's army said to Joshua, Take off your shoes from your feet, for the place where you are is holy. And Joshua did so.	Josua 5:15 Und der Fürst über das Heer des HERRN sprach zu Josua: Zieh deine Schuhe aus von deinen Füßen; denn die Stätte, darauf du stehst, ist heilig. Und Josua tat also.
