James 2:1 My brothers, if you have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory, do not take a man's position into account.	Jakobus 2:1 Liebe Brüder, haltet nicht dafür, daß der Glaube an Jesum Christum, unsern HERRN der Herrlichkeit, Ansehung der Person leide.
James 2:2 For if a man comes into your Synagogue in fair clothing and with a gold ring, and a poor man comes in with dirty clothing,	Jakobus 2:2 Denn so in eure Versammlung käme ein Mann mit einem goldenen Ringe und mit einem herrlichen Kleide, es käme aber auch ein Armer in einem unsauberen Kleide,
James 2:3 And you do honour to the man in fair clothing and say, Come here and take this good place; and you say to the poor man, Take up your position there, or be seated at my feet;	Jakobus 2:3 und ihr sähet auf den, der das herrliche Kleid trägt, und sprächet zu ihm: Setze du dich her aufs beste! und sprächet zu dem Armen: Stehe du dort! oder setze dich her zu meinen Füßen!
James 2:4 Is there not a division in your minds? have you not become judges with evil thoughts?	Jakobus 2:4 ist's recht, daß ihr solchen Unterschied bei euch selbst macht und richtet nach argen Gedanken?
James 2:5 Give ear, my dear brothers; are not those who are poor in the things of this world marked out by God to have faith as their wealth, and for their heritage the kingdom which he has said he will give to those who have love for him?	Jakobus 2:5 Höret zu, meine lieben Brüder! Hat nicht Gott erwählt die Armen auf dieser Welt, die am Glauben reich sind und Erben des Reichs, welches er verheißen hat denen, die ihn liebhaben?
James 2:6 But you have put the poor man to shame. Are not the men of wealth rulers over you? do they not take you by force before their judges?	Jakobus 2:6 Ihr aber habt dem Armen Unehre getan. Sind nicht die Reichen die, die Gewalt an euch üben und ziehen euch vor Gericht?
James 2:7 Do they not say evil of the holy name which was given to you?	Jakobus 2:7 Verlästern sie nicht den guten Namen, nach dem ihr genannt seid?
James 2:8 But if you keep the greatest law of all, as it is given in the holy Writings, Have love for your neighbour as for yourself, you do well:	Jakobus 2:8 So ihr das königliche Gesetz erfüllet nach der Schrift: "Liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst," so tut ihr wohl;
James 2:9 But if you take a man's position into account, you do evil, and are judged as evil-doers by the law.	Jakobus 2:9 so ihr aber die Person ansehet, tut ihr Sünde und werdet überführt vom Gesetz als Übertreter.
James 2:10 For anyone who keeps all the law, but makes a slip in one point, is judged to have gone against it all.	Jakobus 2:10 Denn so jemand das ganze Gesetz hält und sündigt an einem, der ist's ganz schuldig.
James 2:11 For he who said, Do not be untrue in married life, is the same who said, Put no man to death. Now if you are not untrue in married life, but you put a man to death, the law is broken.	Jakobus 2:11 Denn der da gesagt hat: "Du sollst nicht ehebrechen," der hat auch gesagt: "Du sollst nicht töten." So du nun nicht ehebrichst, tötest aber, bist du ein Übertreter des Gesetzes.
James 2:12 Let your words and your acts be those of men who are to be judged by the law which makes free.	Jakobus 2:12 Also redet und also tut, als die da sollen durchs Gesetz der Freiheit gerichtet werden.
James 2:13 For the man who has had no mercy will be judged without mercy, but mercy takes pride in overcoming judging.	Jakobus 2:13 Es wird aber ein unbarmherziges Gericht über den ergehen, der nicht Barmherzigkeit getan hat; und die Barmherzigkeit rühmt sich wider das Gericht.
James 2:14 What use is it, my brothers, for a man to say that he has faith, if he does nothing? will such a faith give him salvation?	Jakobus 2:14 Was hilfst, liebe Brüder, so jemand sagt, er habe den Glauben, und hat doch die Werke nicht? Kann auch der Glaube ihn selig machen?
James 2:15 If a brother or a sister is without clothing and in need of the day's food,	Jakobus 2:15 So aber ein Bruder oder eine Schwester bloß wäre und Mangel hätte der täglichen Nahrung,
James 2:16 And one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warm and full of food; but you do not give them the things of which their bodies have need, what profit is there in this?	Jakobus 2:16 und jemand unter euch spräche zu ihnen: Gott berate euch, wärmet euch und sättiget euch! ihr gäbet ihnen aber nicht, was des Leibes Notdurft ist: was hülfe ihnen das?
James 2:17 Even so faith without works is dead.	Jakobus 2:17 Also auch der Glaube, wenn er nicht Werke hat, ist er tot an ihm selber.
James 2:18 But a man may say, You have faith and I have works; let me see your faith without your works, and I will make my faith clear to you by my works.	Jakobus 2:18 Aber es möchte jemand sagen: Du hast den Glauben, und ich habe die Werke; zeige mir deinen Glauben ohne die Werke, so will ich dir meinen Glauben zeigen aus meinen Werken.
James 2:19 You have the belief that God is one, and you do well: the evil spirits have the same belief, shaking with fear.	Jakobus 2:19 Du glaubst, daß ein einiger Gott ist? Du tust wohl daran; die Teufel glauben's auch und zittern.
James 2:20 Do you not see, O foolish man, that faith without works is of no use?	Jakobus 2:20 Willst du aber erkennen, du eitler Mensch, daß der Glaube ohne Werke tot sei?
James 2:21 Was not the righteousness of Abraham our father judged by his works, when he made an offering of Isaac his son on the altar?	Jakobus 2:21 Ist nicht Abraham, unser Vater, durch die Werke gerecht geworden, da er seinen Sohn Isaak auf dem Altar opferte?
James 2:22 You see that his faith was helping his works and was made complete by them;	Jakobus 2:22 Da siehst du, daß der Glaube mitgewirkt hat an seinen Werken, und durch die Werke ist der Glaube vollkommen geworden;
James 2:23 And the holy Writings were put into effect which said, And Abraham had faith in God and it was put to his account as righteousness; and he was named the friend of God.	Jakobus 2:23 und ist die Schrift erfüllt, die da spricht: "Abraham hat Gott geglaubt, und das ist ihm zur Gerechtigkeit gerechnet," und er ward ein Freund Gottes geheißen.
James 2:24 You see that a man's righteousness is judged by his works and not by his faith only.	Jakobus 2:24 So sehet ihr nun, daß der Mensch durch die Werke gerecht wird, nicht durch den Glauben allein.
James 2:25 And in the same way, was not the righteousness of Rahab, the loose woman, judged by her works, when she took into her house those who were sent and let them go out by another way?	Jakobus 2:25 Desgleichen die Hure Rahab, ist sie nicht durch die Werke gerecht geworden, da sie die Boten aufnahm und ließ sie einen andern Weg hinaus?
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead even so faith without works is dead.	Jakobus 2:26 Denn gleichwie der Leib ohne Geist tot ist, also ist auch der Glaube ohne Werke tot.
