Matthew 14:1 ^
At that time news of Jesus came to Herod the king;
Mateo 14:1 ^
Niadtong panahona si Herodes nga gobernador nakadungog sa kabantug ni Jesus.
Matthew 14:2 ^
And he said to his servants, This is John the Baptist; he has come back from the dead, and so these powers are working in him.
Mateo 14:2 ^
Ug siya miingon sa iyang mga sulogoon, "Kini mao si Juan nga Bautista, gibanhaw gikan sa mga patay; ug mao kanay hinungdan ngano nga kining mga gahuma maabtik diha sa sulod niya."
Matthew 14:3 ^
For Herod had taken John and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.
Mateo 14:3 ^
Kay si Herodes ugod mao man ang nagpadakop kang Juan, ug iyang gipagapos siya ug gipabanlud sa bilanggoan tungod kang Herodias nga asawa ni Felipe nga igsoon niya ni Herodes;
Matthew 14:4 ^
Because John had said to him, It is not right for you to have her.
Mateo 14:4 ^
kay si Juan nakaingon man ugod kaniya, "Dili uyon sa balaod ang paghupot mo kaniya."
Matthew 14:5 ^
And he would have put him to death, but for his fear of the people, because in their eyes John was a prophet.
Mateo 14:5 ^
Ug buot unta niyang patyon siya, apan nahadlok siya sa katawhan kay si Juan ila mang giila nga profeta.
Matthew 14:6 ^
But when Herod's birthday came, the daughter of Herodias was dancing before them, and Herod was pleased with her.

Apan sa pag-abut sa adlaw nga sumad sa natawhan ni Herodes, ang babayeng anak ni Herodias misayaw sa atubangan sa mga dinapit ug nakapahimuot kang Herodes,
Matthew 14:7 ^
So he gave her his word with an oath to let her have whatever she might make request for.
Mateo 14:7 ^
nga tungod niana misaad siya uban sa panumpa nga iyang ihatag kaniya ang bisan unsang butang nga pangayoon niya.
Matthew 14:8 ^
And she, at her mother's suggestion, said, Give me here on a plate the head of John the Baptist.
Mateo 14:8 ^
Ug ang dalaga, tinudloan sa iyang inahan, miingon, "Ihatag kanako dinhi, sinulod sa bandiha, ang ulo ni Juan nga Bautista"
Matthew 14:9 ^
And the king was sad; but because of his oaths and because of his guests, he gave the order for it to be given to her;
Mateo 14:9 ^
Ug nasubo ang hari; apan tungod sa iyang mga panumpa ug sa iyang mga dinapit, nagsugo siya nga ipahatag kini.
Matthew 14:10 ^
And he sent and had John's head cut off in the prison.
Mateo 14:10 ^

Matthew 14:11 ^
And his head was put on a plate and given to the girl; and she took it to her mother.
Mateo 14:11 ^
ug ang ulo niya gihatud sinulod sa bandiha ug gihatag ngadto sa dalaga, ug kini iyang gidala ngadto sa iyang inahan.
Matthew 14:12 ^
And his disciples came, and took up his body and put it in the earth; and they went and gave Jesus news of what had taken place.
Mateo 14:12 ^
Ug miabut ang mga tinun-an ni Juan ug ilang gikuha ang iyang lawas ug gilubong; ug nangadto sila ug ilang gisugilon kini kang Jesus.
Matthew 14:13 ^
Now when it came to the ears of Jesus, he went away from there in a boat, to a waste place by himself: and the people hearing of it, went after him on foot from the towns.
Mateo 14:13 ^
Ug sa pagkadungog niini ni Jesus, siya mipahilit gikan didto sakay sa usa ka sakayan paingon sa usa ka dapit nga awaaw aron sa pag-inusara. Apan sa nabatian kini sa mga panon sa katawhan, giapas siya nila nga nanaglakaw gikan sa kalungsuran.

And he came out and saw a great number of people and he had pity on them, and made well those of them who were ill.
Mateo 14:14 ^
Ug sa pagtakas ni Jesus sa mamala, nakita niya ang usa ka dakung pundok sa mga tawo; ug siya naluoy kanila ug iyang giayo ang ilang mga masakiton.
Matthew 14:15 ^
And when evening had come, the disciples came to him, saying, This place is waste land, and the time is now past; send the people away so that they may go into the towns and get themselves food.
Mateo 14:15 ^
Ug sa pagkahapon na, miduol kaniya ang mga tinun-an ug miingon, "Awaaw kining dapita dinhi, ug tapus na ang adlaw; palakta na ang mga panon sa katawhan aron mangadto sila sa mga balangay ug mamalit silag ilang makaon."
Matthew 14:16 ^
But Jesus said to them, There is no need for them to go away; give them food yourselves.
Mateo 14:16 ^
Apan si Jesus miingon kanila, "Dili kinahanglan manglakaw sila; kamoy maghatag kanilag makaon."
Matthew 14:17 ^
And they say to him, We have here but five cakes of bread and two fishes.
Mateo 14:17 ^
Ug sila mitubag kaniya, "Aduna lamang kitay lima ka tinapay ug duha ka isda."
Matthew 14:18 ^
And he said, Give them to me.
Mateo 14:18 ^
Ug siya miingon, "Dad-a nganhi kanako."
Matthew 14:19 ^
And he gave orders for the people to be seated on the grass; and he took the five cakes of bread and the two fishes and, looking up to heaven, he said words of blessing, and made division of the food, and gave it to the disciples, and the disciples gave it to the people.
Mateo 14:19 ^
Ug ang mga panon sa katawhan iyang gisugo sa pagpanglingkod sa mga balili. Ug sa nagkupot siya sa lima ka tinapay ug duha ka isda, miyahat siya sa langit ug nagpasalamat, ug unya iyang gipikaspikas ang mga tinapay ug gihatag niya kini ngadto sa mga tinun-an, ug ang mga tinun-an maoy nanghatag niini ngadto sa mga panon sa katawhan.
Matthew 14:20 ^
And they all took of the food and had enough: and they took up twelve baskets full of broken bits which were not used.
Mateo 14:20 ^
Ug nangaon silang tanan ug nangabusog. Ug ilang gihipos ang nahibilin nga mga tipik nga napulog-duha ka bukag.
Matthew 14:21 ^
And those who had food were about five thousand men, in addition to women and children.
Mateo 14:21 ^
Ug ang nangaon may mga lima ka libo ka mga lalaki, gawas sa mga babaye ug mga bata.
Matthew 14:22 ^
And straight away he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, till he had sent the people away.

Ug ang mga tinun-an gipasakay ni Jesus sa sakayan ug iyang gipauna sila sa pag-adto sa pikas nga baybayon samtang nagpapauli pa siya sa mga panon sa katawhan.
Matthew 14:23 ^
And after he had sent the people away, he went up into the mountain by himself for prayer: and when evening was come, he was there by himself.
Mateo 14:23 ^
Ug sa napapauli na niya ang mga panon sa katawhan, sa kabungturan mitungas siya nga nag-inusara aron sa pag-ampo. Ug sa pagkasawomsom na, siya mao rang usa didto,
Matthew 14:24 ^
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, and was troubled by the waves: for the wind was against them.
Mateo 14:24 ^
apan niadtong tungora ang sakayan kapid-an na ka dupa halayo sa mamala, gihampakhampak sa mga balud, kay sungsongon man ang hangin.
Matthew 14:25 ^
And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea.
Mateo 14:25 ^
Ug sa ikaupat nga hugna sa bantay sa kagabhion, kanila miadto siya nga naglakaw sa ibabaw sa tubig, sa lanaw.
Matthew 14:26 ^
And when they saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they gave cries of fear.
Mateo 14:26 ^
Apan sa ilang pagkakita kaniya nga naglakaw sa ibabaw sa tubig, ang mga tinun-an nangalisang ug nanag-ingon, "Naay abat!" Ug naniyagit sila sa kalisang.
Matthew 14:27 ^
But straight away Jesus said to them, Take heart; it is I, have no fear.
Mateo 14:27 ^
Apan dihadiha kanila misulti siya nga nag-ingon, "Salig kamo, ako kini; ayaw kamo kalisang."
Matthew 14:28 ^
And Peter, answering, said to him, Lord, if it is you, give me the order to come to you on the water.
Mateo 14:28 ^
Ug kaniya mitubag si Pedro nga nag-ingon, "Ginoo, kon ikaw man uga-ling, paanhaa ako diha kanimo sa ibabaw sa tubig."
Matthew 14:29 ^
And he said, Come. And Peter got out of the boat, and walking on the water, went to Jesus.
Mateo 14:29 ^
Ug siya miingon kaniya, "Umari ka." Busa si Pedro mikawas sa sakayan ug milakaw sa ibabaw sa tubig ug miadto kang Jesus.
Matthew 14:30 ^
But when he saw the wind he was in fear and, starting to go down, he gave a cry, saying, Help, Lord.
Mateo 14:30 ^
Apan sa pagkakita niya sa hangin, siya nahadlok, ug sa nagkatidlom siya, misinggit nga nag-ingon, "Ginoo, luwasa ako!"
Matthew 14:31 ^
And straight away Jesus put out his hand and took a grip of him, and said to him, O man of little faith, why were you in doubt?
Mateo 14:31 ^
Dihadiha gituyhad ni Jesus ang iyang kamot, ug iyang gikuptan siya, ug miingon kaniya, "O tawong diyutayg pagtoo, nganong nagduhaduha ka man?"
Matthew 14:32 ^
And when they had got into the boat, the wind went down.
Mateo 14:32 ^
Ug sa nakasakay na sila sa sakayan, ang hangin milurang.
Matthew 14:33 ^
And those who were in the boat gave him worship, saying, Truly you are the Son of God.
Mateo 14:33 ^
Ug sila nga didto sa sakayan misimba kaniya ug miingon, "Sa pagkatinuod ikaw mao ang Anak sa Dios."
Matthew 14:34 ^
And when they had gone across, they came to land at Gennesaret.
Mateo 14:34 ^
Ug sa nakatabok na sila, midunggo sila sa Genezaret.
Matthew 14:35 ^
And when the men of that place had news of him, they sent into all the country round about, and took to him all who were ill,
Mateo 14:35 ^
Ug sa hing-ilhan siya sa mga tawo niadtong dapita, nagpalibut silag balita niadtong tibuok yuta ug ilang gipanagdala ngadto kaniya ang tanang mga masakiton,
Matthew 14:36 ^
With the request that they might only put their hands on the edge of his robe: and all those who did so were made well.
Mateo 14:36 ^
ug nagpakiluoy sila kaniya nga pahikapon lamang unta sila sa borlas sa iyang kupo; ug nangaayo ang tanang nakahikap niini.
