Matthäus 22:1 Und Jesus antwortete und redete abermals durch Gleichnisse zu ihnen und sprach:	Matthew 22:1 And Jesus, talking to them again in stories, said:
Matthäus 22:2 Das Himmelreich ist gleich einem Könige, der seinem Sohn Hochzeit machte.	Matthew 22:2 The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who made a feast when his son was married,
Matthäus 22:3 Und sandte seine Knechte aus, daß sie die Gäste zur Hochzeit riefen; und sie wollten nicht kommen.	Matthew 22:3 And sent out his servants to get in the guests to the feast: and they would not come.
Matthäus 22:4 Abermals sandte er andere Knechte aus und sprach: Sagt den Gästen: Siehe, meine Mahlzeit habe ich bereitet, meine Ochsen und mein Mastvieh ist geschlachtet und alles ist bereit; kommt zur Hochzeit!	Matthew 22:4 Again he sent out other servants, with orders to say to the guests, See, I have made ready my feast: my oxen and my fat beasts have been put to death, and all things are ready: come to the feast.
Matthäus 22:5 Aber sie verachteten das und gingen hin, einer auf seinen Acker, der andere zu seiner Hantierung;	Matthew 22:5 But they gave no attention, and went about their business, one to his farm, another to his trade:
Matthäus 22:6 etliche griffen seine Knechte, höhnten sie und töteten sie.	Matthew 22:6 And the rest put violent hands on his servants, and did evil to them, and put them to death.
Matthäus 22:7 Da das der König hörte, ward er zornig und schickte seine Heere aus und brachte diese Mörder um und zündete ihre Stadt an.	Matthew 22:7 But the king was angry; and he sent his armies, and those who had put his servants to death he gave to destruction, burning down their town with fire.
Matthäus 22:8 Da sprach er zu seinen Knechten: Die Hochzeit ist zwar bereit, aber die Gäste waren's nicht wert.	Matthew 22:8 Then he said to his servants, The feast is ready but the guests were not good enough.
Matthäus 22:9 Darum gehet hin auf die Straßen und ladet zur Hochzeit, wen ihr findet.	Matthew 22:9 Go then to the cross-roads, and get all those whom you see to come to the bride-feast.
Matthäus 22:10 Und die Knechte gingen aus auf die Straßen und brachten zusammen, wen sie fanden, Böse und Gute; und die Tische wurden alle voll.	Matthew 22:10 And those servants went out into the streets, and got together all those whom they came across, bad and good: and the feast was full of guests.
Matthäus 22:11 Da ging der König hinein, die Gäste zu besehen, und sah allda einen Menschen, der hatte kein hochzeitlich Kleid an;	Matthew 22:11 But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a guest's robe;
Matthäus 22:12 und er sprach zu ihm: Freund, wie bist du hereingekommen und hast doch kein hochzeitlich Kleid an? Er aber verstummte.	Matthew 22:12 And he says to him, Friend, how came you in here not having a guest's robe? And he had nothing to say.
Matthäus 22:13 Da sprach der König zu seinen Dienern: Bindet ihm Hände und Füße und werfet ihn in die Finsternis hinaus! da wird sein Heulen und Zähneklappen.	Matthew 22:13 Then the king said to the servants, Put cords round his hands and feet and put him out into the dark; there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.
Matthäus 22:14 Denn viele sind berufen, aber wenige sind auserwählt.	Matthew 22:14 For out of all to whom the good news has come, only a small number will get salvation.
Matthäus 22:15 Da gingen die Pharisäer hin und hielten einen Rat, wie sie ihn fingen in seiner Rede.	Matthew 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and had a meeting to see how they might make use of his words to take him.
Matthäus 22:16 Und sandten zu ihm ihre Jünger samt des Herodes Dienern. Und sie sprachen: Meister, wir wissen, daß du wahrhaftig bist und lehrst den Weg Gottes recht und du fragst nach niemand; denn du achtest nicht das Ansehen der Menschen.	Matthew 22:16 And they sent to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Master, we see that you are true, and that you are teaching the true way of God, and have no fear of anyone, because you have no respect for a man's position.
Matthäus 22:17 Darum sage uns, was dünkt dich: Ist's recht, daß man dem Kaiser den Zins gebe, oder nicht?	Matthew 22:17 Give us, then, your opinion of this: Is it right to give tax to Caesar, or not?
Matthäus 22:18 Da nun Jesus merkte ihre Schalkheit, sprach er: Ihr Heuchler, was versucht ihr mich?	Matthew 22:18 But Jesus saw their trick and said, Oh false ones, why are you attempting to put me in the wrong?
Matthäus 22:19 Weiset mir die Zinsmünze! Und sie reichten ihm einen Groschen dar.	Matthew 22:19 Let me see the tax money. And they gave him a penny.
Matthäus 22:20 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wes ist das Bild und die Überschrift?	Matthew 22:20 And he said to them, Whose is this image and name on it?
Matthäus 22:21 Sie sprachen zu ihm: Des Kaisers. Da sprach er zu ihnen: So gebet dem Kaiser, was des Kaisers ist, und Gott, was Gottes ist!	Matthew 22:21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he said to them, Give to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.
Matthäus 22:22 Da sie das hörten, verwunderten sie sich und ließen ihn und gingen davon.	Matthew 22:22 And hearing it, they were full of wonder, and went away from him.
Matthäus 22:23 An dem Tage traten zu ihm die Sadduzäer, die da halten, es sei kein Auferstehen, und fragten ihn	Matthew 22:23 On the same day there came to him the Sadducees, who say that there is no coming back from the dead: and they put a question to him, saying,
Matthäus 22:24 und sprachen: Meister, Mose hat gesagt: So einer stirbt und hat nicht Kinder, so soll sein Bruder sein Weib freien und seinem Bruder Samen erwecken.	Matthew 22:24 Master, Moses said, If a man, at the time of his death, has no children, let his brother take his wife, and get a family for his brother;
Matthäus 22:25 Nun sind bei uns gewesen sieben Brüder. Der erste freite und starb; und dieweil er nicht Samen hatte, ließ er sein Weib seinem Bruder;	Matthew 22:25 Now there were among us seven brothers; and the first was married and at his death, having no seed, gave his wife to his brother;
Matthäus 22:26 desgleichen der andere und der dritte bis an den siebenten.	Matthew 22:26 In the same way the second and the third, up to the seventh.
Matthäus 22:27 Zuletzt nach allen starb auch das Weib.	Matthew 22:27 And last of all the woman came to her end.
Matthäus 22:28 Nun in der Auferstehung, wes Weib wird sie sein unter den sieben? Sie haben sie ja alle gehabt.	Matthew 22:28 When they come back from the dead, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? because they all had her.
Matthäus 22:29 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr irrt und wisset die Schrift nicht, noch die Kraft Gottes.	Matthew 22:29 But Jesus said to them in answer, You are in error, not having knowledge of the Writings, or of the power of God.
Matthäus 22:30 In der Auferstehung werden sie weder freien noch sich freien lassen, sondern sie sind gleichwie die Engel Gottes im Himmel.	Matthew 22:30 For when they come back from the dead there are no husbands and wives, but they are as the angels in heaven.
Matthäus 22:31 Habt ihr nicht gelesen von der Toten Auferstehung, was euch gesagt ist von Gott, der da spricht:	Matthew 22:31 But about the dead coming back to life, have you no knowledge of what was said to you by God in the Writings:
Matthäus 22:32 "Ich bin der Gott Abrahams und der Gott Isaaks und der Gott Jakobs"? Gott aber ist nicht ein Gott der Toten, sondern der Lebendigen.	Matthew 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead but of the living.
Matthäus 22:33 Und da solches das Volk hörte, entsetzten sie sich über seine Lehre.	Matthew 22:33 And the people hearing it were surprised at his teaching.
Matthäus 22:34 Da aber die Pharisäer hörten, wie er den Sadduzäern das Maul gestopft hatte, versammelten sie sich.	Matthew 22:34 But the Pharisees, hearing how the mouths of the Sadducees had been stopped, came together;
Matthäus 22:35 Und einer unter ihnen, ein Schriftgelehrter, versuchte ihn und sprach:	Matthew 22:35 And one of them, a teacher of the law, put a question to him, testing him, and saying,
Matthäus 22:36 Meister, welches ist das vornehmste Gebot im Gesetz?	Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the chief rule in the law?
Matthäus 22:37 Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: "Du sollst lieben Gott, deinen HERRN, von ganzem Herzen, von ganzer Seele und von ganzem Gemüte."	Matthew 22:37 And he said to him, Have love for the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
Matthäus 22:38 Dies ist das vornehmste und größte Gebot.	Matthew 22:38 This is the first and greatest rule.
Matthäus 22:39 Das andere aber ist ihm gleich; Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst.	Matthew 22:39 And a second like it is this, Have love for your neighbour as for yourself.
Matthäus 22:40 In diesen zwei Geboten hängt das ganze Gesetz und die Propheten.	Matthew 22:40 On these two rules all the law and the prophets are based.
Matthäus 22:41 Da nun die Pharisäer beieinander waren, fragte sie Jesus	Matthew 22:41 Now while the Pharisees were together, Jesus put a question to them, saying,
Matthäus 22:42 und sprach: Wie dünkt euch um Christus? wes Sohn ist er? Sie sprachen: Davids.	Matthew 22:42 What is your opinion of the Christ? whose son is he? They say to him, The Son of David.
Matthäus 22:43 Er sprach zu ihnen: Wie nennt ihn denn David im Geist einen Herrn, da er sagt:	Matthew 22:43 He says to them, How then does David in the Spirit give him the name of Lord, saying,
Matthäus 22:44 "Der HERR hat gesagt zu meinem Herrn: Setze dich zu meiner Rechten, bis daß ich lege deine Feinde zum Schemel deiner Füße"?	Matthew 22:44 The Lord said to my Lord, Be seated at my right hand, till I put under your feet all those who are against you?
Matthäus 22:45 So nun David ihn einen Herrn nennt, wie ist er denn sein Sohn?	Matthew 22:45 If David then gives him the name of Lord, how is he his son?
Matthäus 22:46 Und niemand konnte ihm ein Wort antworten, und wagte auch niemand von dem Tage an hinfort, ihn zu fragen.	Matthew 22:46 And no one was able to give him an answer, and so great was their fear of him, that from that day no one put any more questions to him.
