Nahum 2:1 Le destructeur marche contre toi. Garde la forteresse! Veille sur la route! affermis tes reins! Recueille toute ta force!...	Nahum 2:1 He that dasheth in pieces is come up against thee: keep the fortress, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.
Nahum 2:2 Car l`Éternel rétablit la gloire de Jacob Et la gloire d`Israël, Parce que les pillards les ont pillés Et ont détruit leurs ceps....	Nahum 2:2 For Jehovah restoreth the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel; for the emptiers have emptied them out, and destroyed their vine-branches.
Nahum 2:3 Les boucliers de ses héros sont rouges, Les guerriers sont vêtus de pourpre; Avec le fer qui étincelle apparaissent les chars, Au jour qu`il a fixé pour la bataille, Et les lances sont agitées.	Nahum 2:3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots flash with steel in the day of his preparation, and the cypress [spears] are brandished.
Nahum 2:4 Les chars s`élancent dans la campagne, Se précipitent sur les places; A les voir, on dirait des flambeaux, Ils courent comme des éclairs...	Nahum 2:4 The chariots rage in the streets; they rush to and fro in the broad ways: the appearance of them is like torches; they run like the lightnings.
Nahum 2:5 Ils se souvient de ses vaillants hommes, Mais ils chancellent dans leur marche; On se hâte vers les murs, Et l`on se prépare à la défense....	Nahum 2:5 He remembereth his nobles: they stumble in their march; they make haste to the wall thereof, and the mantelet is prepared.
Nahum 2:6 Les portes des fleuves sont ouvertes, Et le palais s`écroule!...	Nahum 2:6 The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace is dissolved.
Nahum 2:7 C`en est fait: elle est mise à nu, elle est emmenée; Ses servantes gémissent comme des colombes, Et se frappent la poitrine.	Nahum 2:7 And it is decreed: she is uncovered, she is carried away; and her handmaids moan as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.
Nahum 2:8 Ninive était jadis comme un réservoir plein d`eau.... Les voilà qui fuient.... Arrêtez! arrêtez!... Mais nul ne se retourne....	Nahum 2:8 But Nineveh hath been from of old like a pool of water: yet they flee away. Stand, stand, [they cry]; but none looketh back.
Nahum 2:9 Pillez l`argent! pillez l`or! Il y a des trésors sans fin, Des richesses en objets précieux de toutes espèce.	Nahum 2:9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold; for there is no end of the store, the glory of all goodly furniture.
Nahum 2:10 On pille, on dévaste, on ravage! Et les coeurs sont abattus, Les genoux chancellent, Tous les reins souffrent, Tous les visages pâlissent.	Nahum 2:10 She is empty, and void, and waste; and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and anguish is in all loins, and the faces of them all are waxed pale.
Nahum 2:11 Qu`est devenu ce repaire de lions, Ce pâturage des lionceaux, Où se retiraient le lion, la lionne, le petit du lion, Sans qu`il y eût personne pour les troubler?	Nahum 2:11 Where is the den of the lions, and the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion [and] the lioness walked, the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?
Nahum 2:12 Le lion déchirait pour ses petits, Étranglait pour ses lionnes; Il remplissait de proie ses antres, De dépouilles ses repaires.	Nahum 2:12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his caves with prey, and his dens with ravin.
Nahum 2:13 Voici, j`en veux à toi, dit l`Éternel des armées; Je réduirai tes chars en fumée, L`épée dévorera tes lionceaux, J`arracherai du pays ta proie, Et l`on n`entendra plus la voix de tes messagers.	Nahum 2:13 Behold, I am against thee, saith Jehovah of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions; and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
