Joshua 20:1 And the Lord said to Joshua,	Giosuè 20:1 Poi l’Eterno parlò a Giosuè, dicendo: "Parla ai figliuoli d’Israele e di’ loro:
Joshua 20:2 Say to the children of Israel, Let certain towns be marked out as safe places, as I said to you by the mouth of Moses,	Giosuè 20:2 Stabilitevi le città di rifugio, delle quali vi parlai per mezzo di Mosè,
Joshua 20:3 So that any man who in error and without design has taken the life of another, may go in flight to them: and they will be safe places for you from him who has the right of punishment for blood.	Giosuè 20:3 affinché l’omicida che avrà ucciso qualcuno senza averne l’intenzione, possa ricoverarvisi; esse vi serviranno di rifugio contro il vindice del sangue.
Joshua 20:4 And if anyone goes in flight to one of those towns, and comes into the public place of the town, and puts his cause before the responsible men of the town, they will take him into the town and give him a place among them where he may be safe.	Giosuè 20:4 L’omicida si ricovererà in una di quelle città; e, fermatosi all’ingresso della porta della città, esporrà il suo caso agli anziani di quella città; questi lo accoglieranno presso di loro dentro la città, gli daranno una dimora, ed egli si stabilirà fra loro.
Joshua 20:5 And if the one who has the right of punishment comes after him, they are not to give the taker of life up to him; because he was the cause of his neighbour's death without designing it and not in hate.	Giosuè 20:5 E se il vindice del sangue lo inseguirà, essi non gli daranno nelle mani l’omicida, poiché ha ucciso il prossimo senza averne l’intenzione, senza averlo odiato prima.
Joshua 20:6 And he is to go on living in that town till he has to come before the meeting of the people to be judged; (till the death of him who is high priest at that time:) then the taker of life may come back to his town and to his house, to the town from which he had gone in flight.	Giosuè 20:6 L’omicida rimarrà in quella città finché, alla morte del sommo sacerdote che sarà in funzione in quei giorni, comparisca in giudizio davanti alla raunanza. Allora l’omicida potrà tornarsene, e rientrare nella sua città e nella sua casa, nella città donde era fuggito".
Joshua 20:7 So they made selection of Kedesh in Galilee in the hill-country of Naphtali, and Shechem in the hill-country of Ephraim, and Kiriath-arba (which is Hebron) in the hill-country of Judah.	Giosuè 20:7 Essi dunque consacrarono Kedes in Galilea nella contrada montuosa di Neftali, Sichem nella contrada montuosa di Efraim e Kiriath-Arba, che Hebron, nella contrada montuosa di Giuda.
Joshua 20:8 And on the east side of Jordan at Jericho, they made selection of Bezer in the waste land, in the table-land, out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.	Giosuè 20:8 E di là dal Giordano, a oriente di Gerico, stabilirono, nella tribù di Ruben, Betser, nel deserto, nell’altipiano; Ramoth, in Galaad, nella tribù di Gad, e Golan in Basan, nella tribù di Manasse.
Joshua 20:9 These were the towns marked out for all the children of Israel and for the man from a strange country living among them, so that anyone causing the death of another in error, might go in flight there, and not be put to death by him who has the right of punishment for blood till he had come before the meeting of the people.	Giosuè 20:9 Queste furono le città assegnate a tutti i figliuoli d’Israele e allo straniero dimorante fra loro, affinché chiunque avesse ucciso qualcuno involontariamente potesse rifugiarvisi e non avesse a morire per man del vindice del sangue, prima d’esser comparso davanti alla raunanza.
