Matthew 23:1 Then Jesus said to the people and to his disciples:	Matthäus 23:1 Da redete Jesus zu dem Volk und zu seinen Jüngern
Matthew 23:2 The scribes and the Pharisees have the authority of Moses;	Matthäus 23:2 und sprach: Auf Mose's Stuhl sitzen die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer.
Matthew 23:3 All things, then, which they give you orders to do, these do and keep: but do not take their works as your example, for they say and do not.	Matthäus 23:3 Alles nun, was sie euch sagen, daß ihr halten sollt, das haltet und tut's; aber nach ihren Werken sollt ihr nicht tun: sie sagen's wohl, und tun's nicht.
Matthew 23:4 They make hard laws and put great weights on men's backs; but they themselves will not put a finger to them.	Matthäus 23:4 Sie binden aber schwere und unerträgliche Bürden und legen sie den Menschen auf den Hals; aber sie selbst wollen dieselben nicht mit einem Finger regen.
Matthew 23:5 But all their works they do so as to be seen by men: for they make wide their phylacteries, and the edges of their robes,	Matthäus 23:5 Alle ihre Werke aber tun sie, daß sie von den Leuten gesehen werden. Sie machen ihre Denkzettel breit und die Säume an ihren Kleidern groß.
Matthew 23:6 And the things desired by them are the first places at feasts, and the chief seats in the Synagogues,	Matthäus 23:6 Sie sitzen gern obenan über Tisch und in den Schulen
Matthew 23:7 And words of respect in the market-places, and to be named by men, Teacher.	Matthäus 23:7 und haben's gern, daß sie gegrüßt werden auf dem Markt und von den Menschen Rabbi genannt werden.
Matthew 23:8 But you may not be named Teacher: for one is your teacher, and you are all brothers.	Matthäus 23:8 Aber ihr sollt euch nicht Rabbi nennen lassen; denn einer ist euer Meister, Christus; ihr aber seid alle Brüder.
Matthew 23:9 And give no man the name of father on earth: because one is your Father, who is in heaven.	Matthäus 23:9 Und sollt niemand Vater heißen auf Erden, denn einer ist euer Vater, der im Himmel ist.
Matthew 23:10 And you may not be named guides: because one is your Guide, even Christ.	Matthäus 23:10 Und ihr sollt euch nicht lassen Meister nennen; denn einer ist euer Meister, Christus.
Matthew 23:11 But let the greatest among you be your servant.	Matthäus 23:11 Der Größte unter euch soll euer Diener sein.
Matthew 23:12 And whoever makes himself high will be made low, and whoever makes himself low will be made high.	Matthäus 23:12 Denn wer sich selbst erhöht, der wird erniedrigt; und wer sich selbst erniedrigt, der wird erhöht.
Matthew 23:13 But a curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! because you are shutting the kingdom of heaven against men: for you do not go in yourselves, and those who are going in, you keep back.	Matthäus 23:13 Weh euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, die ihr das Himmelreich zuschließet vor den Menschen! Ihr kommt nicht hinein, und die hinein wollen, laßt ihr nicht hineingehen.
Matthew 23:14 []	Matthäus 23:14 Weh euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, die ihr der Witwen Häuser fresset und wendet lange Gebete vor! Darum werdet ihr desto mehr Verdammnis empfangen.
Matthew 23:15 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you go about land and sea to get one disciple and, having him, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.	Matthäus 23:15 Weh euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, die ihr Land und Wasser umziehet, daß ihr einen Judengenossen macht; und wenn er's geworden ist, macht ihr aus ihm ein Kind der Hölle, zwiefältig mehr denn ihr seid!
Matthew 23:16 A curse is on you, blind guides, who say, Whoever takes an oath by the Temple, it is nothing; but whoever takes an oath by the gold of the Temple, he is responsible.	Matthäus 23:16 Weh euch, verblendete Leiter, die ihr sagt: "Wer da schwört bei dem Tempel, das ist nichts; wer aber schwört bei dem Gold am Tempel, der ist's schuldig."
Matthew 23:17 You foolish ones and blind: which is greater, the gold, or the Temple which makes the gold holy?	Matthäus 23:17 Ihr Narren und Blinden! Was ist größer: das Gold oder der Tempel, der das Gold heiligt?
Matthew 23:18 And, Whoever takes an oath by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever takes an oath by the offering which is on it, he is responsible.	Matthäus 23:18 "Wer da schwört bei dem Altar, das ist nichts; wer aber schwört bei dem Opfer, das darauf ist, der ist's schuldig."
Matthew 23:19 You blind ones: which is greater, the offering, or the altar which makes the offering holy?	Matthäus 23:19 Ihr Narren und Blinden! Was ist größer: das Opfer oder der Altar, der das Opfer heiligt?
Matthew 23:20 He, then, who takes an oath by the altar, takes it by the altar and by all things on it.	Matthäus 23:20 Darum, wer da schwört bei dem Altar, der schwört bei demselben und bei allem, was darauf ist.
Matthew 23:21 And he who takes an oath by the Temple, takes it by the Temple and by him whose house it is.	Matthäus 23:21 Und wer da schwört bei dem Tempel, der schwört bei demselben und bei dem, der darin wohnt.
Matthew 23:22 And he who takes an oath by heaven, takes it by the seat of God, and by him who is seated on it.	Matthäus 23:22 Und wer da schwört bei dem Himmel, der schwört bei dem Stuhl Gottes und bei dem, der darauf sitzt.
Matthew 23:23 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you make men give a tenth of all sorts of sweet-smelling plants, but you give no thought to the more important things of the law, righteousness, and mercy, and faith; but it is right for you to do these, and not to let the others be undone.	Matthäus 23:23 Weh euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, die ihr verzehntet die Minze, Dill und Kümmel, und laßt dahinten das Schwerste im Gesetz, nämlich das Gericht, die Barmherzigkeit und den Glauben! Dies soll man tun und jenes nicht lassen.
Matthew 23:24 You blind guides, who take out a fly from your drink, but make no trouble over a camel.	Matthäus 23:24 Ihr verblendeten Leiter, die ihr Mücken seihet und Kamele verschluckt!
Matthew 23:25 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you make clean the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of violent behaviour and uncontrolled desire.	Matthäus 23:25 Weh euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, die ihr die Becher und Schüsseln auswendig reinlich haltet, inwendig aber ist's voll Raubes und Fraßes!
Matthew 23:26 You blind Pharisee, first make clean the inside of the cup and of the plate, so that the outside may become equally clean.	Matthäus 23:26 Du blinder Pharisäer, reinige zum ersten das Inwendige an Becher und Schüssel, auf das auch das Auswendige rein werde!
Matthew 23:27 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you are like the resting-places of the dead, which are made white, and seem beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and of all unclean things.	Matthäus 23:27 Weh euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, die ihr gleich seid wie die übertünchten Gräber, welche auswendig hübsch scheinen, aber inwendig sind sie voller Totengebeine und alles Unflats!
Matthew 23:28 Even so you seem to men to be full of righteousness, but inside you are all false and full of wrongdoing.	Matthäus 23:28 Also auch ihr: von außen scheint ihr den Menschen fromm, aber in wendig seid ihr voller Heuchelei und Untugend.
Matthew 23:29 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! because you put up buildings for housing the dead bodies of the prophets, and make fair the last resting-places of good men, and say,	Matthäus 23:29 Weh euch, Schriftgelehrte und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, die ihr der Propheten Gräber bauet und schmücket der Gerechten Gräber
Matthew 23:30 If we had been living in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in the blood of the prophets.	Matthäus 23:30 und sprecht: Wären wir zu unsrer Väter Zeiten gewesen, so wollten wir nicht teilhaftig sein mit ihnen an der Propheten Blut!
Matthew 23:31 So that you are witnesses against yourselves that you are the sons of those who put the prophets to death.	Matthäus 23:31 So gebt ihr über euch selbst Zeugnis, daß ihr Kinder seid derer, die die Propheten getötet haben.
Matthew 23:32 Make full, then, the measure of your fathers.	Matthäus 23:32 Wohlan, erfüllet auch ihr das Maß eurer Väter!
Matthew 23:33 You snakes, offspring of snakes, how will you be kept from the punishment of hell?	Matthäus 23:33 Ihr Schlangen und Otterngezücht! wie wollt ihr der höllischen Verdammnis entrinnen?
Matthew 23:34 For this reason, I send you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them you will put to death and put on the cross, and to some of them you will give blows in your Synagogues, driving them from town to town;	Matthäus 23:34 Darum siehe, ich sende zu euch Propheten und Weise und Schriftgelehrte; und deren werdet ihr etliche töten und kreuzigen, und etliche werdet ihr geißeln in ihren Schulen und werdet sie verfolgen von einer Stadt zu der anderen;
Matthew 23:35 So that on you may come all the blood of the upright on the earth, from the blood of upright Abel to the blood of Zachariah, son of Barachiah, whom you put to death between the Temple and the altar.	Matthäus 23:35 auf daß über euch komme all das gerechte Blut, das vergossen ist auf Erden, von dem Blut des gerechten Abel an bis auf das Blut des Zacharias, des Sohnes Berechja's, welchen ihr getötet habt zwischen dem Tempel und dem Altar.
Matthew 23:36 Truly I say to you, All these things will come on this generation.	Matthäus 23:36 Wahrlich ich sage euch, daß solches alles wird über dies Geschlecht kommen.
Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, putting to death the prophets, and stoning those who are sent to her! Again and again would I have taken your children to myself as a bird takes her young ones under her wings, and you would not!	Matthäus 23:37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, die du tötest die Propheten und steinigst, die zu dir gesandt sind! wie oft habe ich deine Kinder versammeln wollen, wie eine Henne versammelt ihre Küchlein unter ihre Flügel; und ihr habt nicht gewollt!
Matthew 23:38 See, your house is made waste.	Matthäus 23:38 Siehe, euer Haus soll euch wüst gelassen werden.
Matthew 23:39 For I say to you, You will not see me from this time till you say, A blessing on him who comes in the name of the Lord.	Matthäus 23:39 Denn ich sage euch: Ihr werdet mich von jetzt an nicht sehen, bis ihr sprecht: Gelobt sei, der da kommt im Namen des HERRN!
