| For in those days and in that time, when I let the fate of Judah and Jerusalem be changed, | Denn siehe, in den Tagen und zur selben Zeit, wann ich das Gefängnis Juda's und Jerusalems wenden werde, |
| I will get together all the nations, and make them come down into the valley of Jehoshaphat; and there I will take up with them the cause of my people and of my heritage Israel, whom they have sent wandering among the nations, and of my land which has been parted by them. | will ich alle Heiden zusammenbringen und will sie in das Tal Josaphat hinabführen und will mit ihnen daselbst rechten wegen meines Volks und meines Erbteils Israel, weil sie es unter die Heiden zerstreut und sich mein Land geteilt |
| And they have put the fate of my people to the decision of chance: giving a boy for the price of a loose woman and a girl for a drink of wine. | und das Los um mein Volk geworfen haben; und haben die Knaben um Speise gegeben und die Mägdlein um Wein verkauft und vertrunken. |
| And further, what are you to me, O Tyre and Zidon and all the circle of Philistia? will you give me back any payment? and if you do, quickly and suddenly I will send it back on your head, | Und ihr von Tyrus und Sidon und alle Kreise der Philister, was habt ihr mit mir zu tun? Wollt ihr mir trotzen? Wohlan, trotzet ihr mir, so will ich's euch eilend und bald wiedervergelten auf euren Kopf. |
| For you have taken my silver and my gold, putting in the houses of your gods my beautiful and pleasing things. | Die ihr mein Silber und Gold und meine schönen Kleinode genommen und in eure Tempel gebracht habt, |
| And the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem you have given for a price to the sons of the Greeks, to send them far away from their land: | dazu auch die Kinder Juda und die Kinder Jerusalems verkauft habt den Griechen, auf daß ihr sie ja fern von ihren Grenzen brächtet. |
| See, I will have them moved from the place where you have sent them, and will let what you have done come back on your head; | Siehe, ich will sie erwecken aus dem Ort, dahin ihr sie verkauft habt, und will's euch vergelten auf euren Kopf. |
| I will give your sons and your daughters into the hands of the children of Judah for a price, and they will give them for a price to the men of Sheba, a nation far off: for the Lord has said it. | Und will eure Söhne und Töchter wiederum verkaufen durch die Kinder Juda; die sollen sie denen in Reicharabien, einem Volk in fernen Landen, verkaufen; denn der HERR hat's geredet. |
| Give this out among the nations; make ready for war: get the strong men awake; let all the men of war come near, let them come up. | Rufet dies aus unter den Heiden! Heiliget einen Streit! Erwecket die Starken! Lasset herzukommen und hinaufziehen alle Kriegsleute! |
| Get your plough-blades hammered into swords, and your vine-knives into spears: let the feeble say, I am strong. | Macht aus euren Pflugscharen Schwerter und aus euren Sicheln Spieße! der Schwache spreche: Ich bin stark! |
| Come quickly, all you nations round about, and get yourselves together there: make your strong ones come down, O Lord. | Rottet euch und kommt her, alle Heiden um und um, und versammelt euch! Daselbst führe du hernieder, HERR, deine Starken! |
| Let the nations be awake, and come to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there I will be seated as judge of all the nations round about. | Die Heiden werden sich aufmachen und heraufkommen zum Tal Josaphat; denn daselbst will ich sitzen, zu richten alle Heiden um und um. |
| Put in the blade, for the grain is ready: come, get you down, for the wine-crusher is full, the vessels are overflowing; for great is their evil-doing. | Schlagt die Sichel an, denn die Ernte ist reif; kommt herab, denn die Kelter ist voll, und die Kufen laufen über; denn ihre Bosheit ist groß. |
| Masses on masses in the valley of decision! for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. | Es werden Haufen über Haufen Volks sein im Tal des Urteils; denn des HERRN Tag ist nahe im Tal des Urteils. |
| The sun and the moon have become dark, and the stars keep back their shining. | Sonne und Mond werden sich verfinstern, und die Sterne werden ihren Schein verhalten. |
| And the Lord will be thundering from Zion, and his voice will be sounding from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth will be shaking: but the Lord will be a breastplate for his people and a strong place for the children of Israel. | Und der HERR wird aus Zion brüllen und aus Jerusalem seine Stimme lassen hören, daß Himmel und Erde beben wird. Aber der HERR wird seinem Volk eine Zuflucht sein und eine Feste den Kindern Israel. |
| And you will be certain that I am the Lord your God, living in Zion, my holy mountain: and Jerusalem will be holy, and no strange person will ever again go through her. | Und ihr sollt es erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, euer Gott, zu Zion auf meinem heiligen Berge wohne. Alsdann wird Jerusalem heilig sein und kein Fremder mehr durch sie wandeln. |
| And it will come about in that day that the mountains will be dropping sweet wine, and the hills will be flowing with milk, and all the streams of Judah will be flowing with water; and a fountain will come out from the house of the Lord, watering the valley of acacia-trees. | Zur selben Zeit werden die Berge von süßem Wein triefen und die Hügel von Milch fließen, und alle Bäche in Juda werden voll Wasser gehen; und wird eine Quelle vom Hause des HERRN herausgehen, die wird das Tal Sittim wässern. |
| Egypt will be a waste and Edom a land of destruction, because of the evil done to the children of Judah, because they have let blood be drained out in their land without cause. | Aber Ägypten soll wüst werden und Edom eine wüste Einöde um den Frevel, an den Kindern Juda begangen, daß sie unschuldig Blut in ihrem Lande vergossen haben. |
| But Judah will be peopled for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. | Aber Juda soll ewiglich bewohnt werden und Jerusalem für und für. |
| And I will send punishment for their blood, for which punishment has not been sent, for the Lord is living in Zion. | Und ich will ihr Blut nicht ungerächt lassen. Und der HERR wird wohnen zu Zion. |
