Genesis 29:1 Then Jacob went on his journey till he came to the land of the children of the East.	Genesi 29:1 Poi Giacobbe si mise in cammino e andò nel paese degli Orientali.
Genesis 29:2 And there he saw a water-hole in a field, and by the side of it three flocks of sheep, for there they got water for the sheep: and on the mouth of the water-hole there was a great stone.	Genesi 29:2 E guardò, e vide un pozzo in un campo; ed ecco tre greggi di pecore, giacenti lì presso; poiché a quel pozzo si abbeveravano i greggi; e la pietra sulla bocca del pozzo era grande.
Genesis 29:3 And all the flocks would come together there, and when the stone had been rolled away, they would give the sheep water, and put the stone back again in its place on the mouth of the water-hole.	Genesi 29:3 Quivi s’adunavano tutti i greggi; i pastori rotolavan la pietra di sulla bocca del pozzo, abbeveravano le pecore, poi rimettevano al posto la pietra sulla bocca del pozzo.
Genesis 29:4 Then Jacob said to the herdmen, My brothers, where do you come from? And they said, From Haran.	Genesi 29:4 E Giacobbe disse ai pastori: "Fratelli miei, di dove siete?" E quelli risposero: "Siamo di Charan".
Genesis 29:5 And he said to them, Have you any knowledge of Laban, the son of Nahor? And they said, We have.	Genesi 29:5 Ed egli disse loro: "Conoscete voi Labano, figliuolo di Nahor?" Ed essi: "Lo conosciamo".
Genesis 29:6 And he said to them, Is he well? And they said, He is well, and here is Rachel his daughter coming with the sheep.	Genesi 29:6 Ed egli disse loro: "Sta egli bene?" E quelli: "Sta bene; ed ecco Rachele, sua figliuola, che viene con le pecore".
Genesis 29:7 Then Jacob said, The sun is still high and it is not time to get the cattle together: get water for the sheep and go and give them their food.	Genesi 29:7 Ed egli disse: "Ecco, è ancora pieno giorno, e non è tempo di radunare il bestiame; abbeverate le pecore e menatele al pascolo".
Genesis 29:8 And they said, We are not able to do so till all the flocks have come together and the stone has been rolled away from the mouth of the water-hole; then we will get water for the sheep.	Genesi 29:8 E quelli risposero: "Non possiamo, finché tutti i greggi siano radunati; allora si rotola la pietra di sulla bocca del pozzo, e abbeveriamo le pecore".
Genesis 29:9 While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep, for she took care of them.	Genesi 29:9 Mentr’egli parlava ancora con loro, giunse Rachele con le pecore di suo padre; poich’ella era pastora.
Genesis 29:10 Then when Jacob saw Rachel, the daughter of Laban, his mother's brother, coming with Laban's sheep, he came near, and rolling the stone away from the mouth of the hole, he got water for Laban's flock.	Genesi 29:10 E quando Giacobbe vide Rachele figliuola di Labano, fratello di sua madre, e le pecore di Labano fratello di sua madre, s’avvicinò, rotolò la pietra di sulla bocca del pozzo, e abbeverò il gregge di Labano fratello di sua madre.
Genesis 29:11 And weeping for joy, Jacob gave Rachel a kiss.	Genesi 29:11 E Giacobbe baciò Rachele, alzò la voce, e pianse.
Genesis 29:12 And Rachel, hearing from Jacob that he was her father's relation and that he was the son of Rebekah, went running to give her father news of it.	Genesi 29:12 E Giacobbe fe’ sapere a Rachele ch’egli era parente del padre di lei, e ch’era figliuolo di Rebecca. Ed ella corse a dirlo a suo padre.
Genesis 29:13 And Laban, hearing news of Jacob, his sister's son, came running, and took Jacob in his arms, and kissing him, made him come into his house. And Jacob gave him news of everything.	Genesi 29:13 E appena Labano ebbe udito le notizie di Giacobbe figliuolo della sua sorella, gli corse incontro, l’abbracciò, lo baciò, e lo menò a casa sua. Giacobbe raccontò a Labano tutte queste cose;
Genesis 29:14 And Laban said to him, Truly, you are my bone and my flesh. And he kept Jacob with him for the space of a month.	Genesi 29:14 e Labano gli disse: "Tu sei proprio mie ossa e mia carne!" Ed egli dimorò con lui durante un mese.
Genesis 29:15 Then Laban said to Jacob, Because you are my brother are you to be my servant for nothing? say now, what is your payment to be?	Genesi 29:15 Poi Labano disse a Giacobbe: "Perché sei mio parente dovrai tu servirmi per nulla? Dimmi quale dev’essere il tuo salario".
Genesis 29:16 Now Laban had two daughters: the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.	Genesi 29:16 Or Labano aveva due figliuole: la maggiore si chiamava Lea, e la minore Rachele.
Genesis 29:17 And Leah's eyes were clouded, but Rachel was fair in face and form.	Genesi 29:17 Lea aveva gli occhi delicati, ma Rachele era avvenente e di bell’aspetto.
Genesis 29:18 And Jacob was in love with Rachel; and he said, I will be your servant seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.	Genesi 29:18 E Giacobbe amava Rachele, e disse a Labano: "Io ti servirò sette anni, per Rachele tua figliuola minore".
Genesis 29:19 And Laban said, It is better for you to have her than another man: go on living here with me.	Genesi 29:19 E Labano rispose: "E’ meglio ch’io la dia a te che ad un altr’uomo; sta’ con me".
Genesis 29:20 And Jacob did seven years' work for Rachel; and because of his love for her it seemed to him only a very little time.	Genesi 29:20 E Giacobbe servì sette anni per Rachele; e gli parvero pochi giorni, per l’amore che le portava.
Genesis 29:21 Then Jacob said to Laban, Give me my wife so that I may have her, for the days are ended.	Genesi 29:21 E Giacobbe disse a Labano: "Dammi la mia moglie, poiché il mio tempo è compiuto, ed io andrò da lei".
Genesis 29:22 And Laban got together all the men of the place and gave a feast.	Genesi 29:22 Allora Labano radunò tutta la gente del luogo, e fece un convito.
Genesis 29:23 And in the evening he took Leah, his daughter, and gave her to him, and he went in to her.	Genesi 29:23 Ma, la sera, prese Lea, sua figliuola, e la menò da Giacobbe, il quale entrò da lei.
Genesis 29:24 And Laban gave Zilpah, his servant-girl, to Leah, to be her waiting-woman.	Genesi 29:24 E Labano dette la sua serva Zilpa per serva a Lea, sua figliuola.
Genesis 29:25 And in the morning Jacob saw that it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What have you done to me? was I not working for you so that I might have Rachel? why have you been false to me?	Genesi 29:25 L’indomani mattina, ecco che era Lea. E Giacobbe disse a Labano: "Che m’hai fatto? Non è egli per Rachele ch’io t’ho servito? Perché dunque m’hai ingannato?"
Genesis 29:26 And Laban said, In our country we do not let the younger daughter be married before the older.	Genesi 29:26 E Labano rispose: "Non è usanza da noi di dare la minore prima della maggiore. Finisci la settimana di questa;
Genesis 29:27 Let the week of the bride-feast come to its end and then we will give you the other in addition, if you will be my servant for another seven years.	Genesi 29:27 e ti daremo anche l’altra, per il servizio che presterai da me altri sette anni".
Genesis 29:28 And Jacob did so; and when the week was ended, Laban gave him his daughter Rachel for his wife.	Genesi 29:28 Giacobbe fece così, e finì la settimana di quello sposalizio; poi Labano gli dette in moglie Rachele sua figliuola.
Genesis 29:29 And Laban gave Rachel his servant-girl Bilhah to be her waiting-woman.	Genesi 29:29 E Labano dette la sua serva Bilha per serva a Rachele, sua figliuola.
Genesis 29:30 Then Jacob took Rachel as his wife, and his love for her was greater than his love for Leah; and he went on working for Laban for another seven years.	Genesi 29:30 E Giacobbe entrò pure da Rachele, ed anche amò Rachele più di Lea, e servì da Labano altri sette anni.
Genesis 29:31 Now the Lord, seeing that Leah was not loved, gave her a child; while Rachel had no children.	Genesi 29:31 L’Eterno, vedendo che Lea era odiata, la rese feconda; ma Rachele era sterile.
Genesis 29:32 And Leah was with child, and gave birth to a son to whom she gave the name Reuben: for she said, The Lord has seen my sorrow; now my husband will have love for me.	Genesi 29:32 E Lea concepì e partorì un figliuolo, al quale pose nome Ruben; perché disse: "L’Eterno ha veduto la mia afflizione; e ora il mio marito mi amerà".
Genesis 29:33 Then she became with child again, and gave birth to a son; and said, Because it has come to the Lord's ears that I am not loved, he has given me this son in addition: and she gave him the name Simeon.	Genesi 29:33 Poi concepì di nuovo e partorì un figliuolo, e disse: "L’Eterno ha udito ch’io ero odiata, e però m’ha dato anche questo figliuolo". E lo chiamò Simeone.
Genesis 29:34 And she was with child again, and gave birth to a son; and said, Now at last my husband will be united to me, because I have given him three sons: so he was named Levi.	Genesi 29:34 E concepì di nuovo e partorì un figliuolo, e disse: "Questa volta, il mio marito sarà ben unito a me, poiché gli ho partorito tre figliuoli". Per questo fu chiamato Levi.
Genesis 29:35 And she was with child again, and gave birth to a son: and she said, This time I will give praise to the Lord: so he was named Judah; after this she had no more children for a time.	Genesi 29:35 E concepì di nuovo e partorì un figliuolo, e disse: "Questa volta celebrerò l’Eterno". Perciò gli pose nome Giuda. E cessò d’aver figliuoli.
