Ay là cùng một cái hố đó mà Ích-ma-ên, con trai Nê-tha-nia, đã lấp đầy xác chết. | Now the hole into which Ishmael had put the dead bodies of the men whom he had put to death, was the great hole which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha, king of Israel: and Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, made it full of the bodies of those who had been put to death. | | Đoạn, Ích-ma-ên bắt hết thảy dân sự còn sót lại tại Mích-ba đem đi làm phu tù; tức các con gái vua, và cả dân bỏ lại ở Mích-ba mà quan làm đầu thị vệ Nê-ba-xa -A-đan đã gia phổ cho Ghê-đa-lia, con trai A-hi-cam. Ích-ma-ên, con trai Nê-tha-nia, bắt những người ấy điệu đi làm phu tù, và đi qua nơi con cái Am-môn. | Then Ishmael took away as prisoners all the rest of the people who were in Mizpah, the king's daughters and all the people still in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, had put under the care of Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam: Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, took them away prisoners with the purpose of going over to the children of Ammon. | | Khi Giô-ha-nan, con trai Ca-rê-át, và các người đầu đảng theo mình, nghe mọi điều ác mà Ích-ma-ên, con trai Nê-tha-nia, đã làm, | But when Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the armed forces who were with him, had news of all the evil which Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, had done, | | thì nhóm mọi thủ hạ mình lại và khởi đi đánh Ích-ma-ên, con trai Nê-tha-nia, và đuổi kịp tại nơi gần hồ lớn Ga-ba-ôn. | They took their men and went out to make war on Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and they came face to face with him by the great waters in Gibeon. | | Có xảy ra, khi đội quân theo Ích-ma-ên ngó thấy Giô-ha-nan, con trai Ca-rê-át, và hết thảy các tướng đầu đảng ở với người thì thảy đều vui mừng. | Now when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces with him, then they were glad. | | Cả dân mà Ích-ma-ên đã điệu đi từ Mích-ba đều trở mặt về với Giô-ha-nan, con trai Ca-rê-át. | And all the people whom Ishmael had taken away prisoners from Mizpah, turning round, came back and went to Johanan, the son of Kareah. | | Còn Ích-ma-ên, con trai Nê-tha-nia, thì cùng tám người trốn khỏi Giô-ha-nan và đi đến nơi con cái Am-môn. | But Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, got away from Johanan, with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon. | | Giô-ha-nan, con trai Ca-rê-át, cùng các tướng đầu đảng theo mình chiếm lấy đội binh mới vừa giải cứu khỏi tay Ích-ma-ên, con trai Nê-tha-mia, khi Ích-ma-ên kéo đi từ Mích-ba sau lúc giết Ghê-đa-lia, con trai A-hi-cam. Hết thảy những lính chiến, đờn bà, trẻ con hoạn quan, Giô-ha-nan đều từ Ga-ba-ôn đem về. | Then Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, took all the rest of the people whom Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, had made prisoners, after he had put to death Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the people from Mizpah, that is, the men of war and the women and the children and the unsexed servants, whom he had taken back with him from Gibeon: | | Họ khỡi đi và đỗ tại trạm Kim-ham, gần Bết-lê-hem, đặng rút qua Ê-díp-tô, | And they went and were living in the resting-place of Chimham, which is near Beth-lehem on the way into Egypt, | | xa người Canh-đê; vì sợ người Canh-đê, bởi cớ Ích-ma-ên, con trai Nê-tha-nia, giết Ghê-đa-lia, con trai A-hi-cam, là người mà vua Ba-by-lôn đã lập làm tổng đốc trong đất. | Because of the Chaldaeans: for they were in fear of them because Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, had put to death Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had made ruler over the land. |
