Proverbs 6
|
| Сын мой! если ты поручился за ближнего твоего и дал руку твою за другого, -- | My son, if you have made yourself responsible for your neighbour, or given your word for another, |
| ты опутал себя словами уст твоих, пойман словами уст твоих. | You are taken as in a net by the words of your mouth, the sayings of your lips have overcome you. |
| Сделай же, сын мой, вот что, и избавь себя, так как ты попался в руки ближнего твоего: пойди, пади к ногам и умоляй ближнего твоего; | Do this, my son, and make yourself free, because you have come into the power of your neighbour; go without waiting, and make a strong request to your neighbour. |
| не давай сна глазам твоим и дремания веждам твоим; | Give no sleep to your eyes, or rest to them; |
| спасайся, как серна из руки и как птица из руки птицелова. | Make yourself free, like the roe from the hand of the archer, and the bird from him who puts a net for her. |
| Пойди к муравью, ленивец, посмотри на действия его, и будь мудрым. | Go to the ant, you hater of work; give thought to her ways and be wise: |
| Нет у него ни начальника, ни приставника, ни повелителя; | Having no chief, overseer, or ruler, |
| но он заготовляет летом хлеб свой, собирает во время жатвы пищу свою. | She gets her meat in the summer, storing up food at the time of the grain-cutting. |
| Доколе ты, ленивец, будешь спать? когда ты встанешь от сна твоего? | How long will you be sleeping, O hater of work? when will you get up from your sleep? |
| Немного поспишь, немного подремлешь, немного, сложив руки, полежишь: | A little sleep, a little rest, a little folding of the hands in sleep: |
| и придет, как прохожий, бедность твоя, и нужда твоя, как разбойник. | Then loss will come on you like an outlaw, and your need like an armed man |
| Человек лукавый, человек нечестивый ходит со лживыми устами, | A good-for-nothing man is an evil-doer; he goes on his way causing trouble with false words; |
| мигает глазами своими, говорит ногами своими, дает знаки пальцами своими; | Making signs with his eyes, rubbing with his feet, and giving news with his fingers; |
| коварство в сердце его: он умышляет зло во всякое время, сеет раздоры. | His mind is ever designing evil: he lets loose violent acts. |
| Зато внезапно придет погибель его, вдруг будет разбит--без исцеления. | For this cause his downfall will be sudden; quickly he will be broken, and there will be no help for him. |
| Вот шесть, что ненавидит Господь, даже семь, что мерзость душе Его: | Six things are hated by the Lord; seven things are disgusting to him: |
| глаза гордые, язык лживый и руки, проливающие кровь невинную, | Eyes of pride, a false tongue, hands which take life without cause; |
| сердце, кующее злые замыслы, ноги, быстро бегущие к злодейству, | A heart full of evil designs, feet which are quick in running after sin; |
| лжесвидетель, наговаривающий ложь и сеющий раздор между братьями. | A false witness, breathing out untrue words, and one who lets loose violent acts among brothers. |
| Сын мой! храни заповедь отца твоего и не отвергай наставления матери твоей; | My son, keep the rule of your father, and have in memory the teaching of your mother: |
| навяжи их навсегда на сердце твое, обвяжи ими шею твою. | Keep them ever folded in your heart, and have them hanging round your neck. |
| Когда ты пойдешь, они будут руководить тебя; когда ляжешь спать, будут охранять тебя; когда пробудишься, будут беседовать с тобою: | In your walking, it will be your guide; when you are sleeping, it will keep watch over you; when you are awake, it will have talk with you. |
| ибо заповедь есть светильник, и наставление--свет, и назидательные поучения--путь к жизни, | For the rule is a light, and the teaching a shining light; and the guiding words of training are the way of life. |
| чтобы остерегать тебя от негодной женщины, от льстивого языка чужой. | They will keep you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the strange woman. |
| Не пожелай красоты ее в сердце твоем, и да не увлечет она тебя ресницами своими; | Let not your heart's desire go after her fair body; let not her eyes take you prisoner. |
| потому что из-за жены блудной [обнищевают] до куска хлеба, а замужняя жена уловляет дорогую душу. | For a loose woman is looking for a cake of bread, but another man's wife goes after one's very life. |
| Может ли кто взять себе огонь в пазуху, чтобы не прогорело платье его? | May a man take fire to his breast without burning his clothing? |
| Может ли кто ходить по горящим угольям, чтобы не обжечь ног своих? | Or may one go on lighted coals, and his feet not be burned? |
| То же бывает и с тем, кто входит к жене ближнего своего: кто прикоснется к ней, не останется без вины. | So it is with him who goes in to his neighbour's wife; he who has anything to do with her will not go free from punishment. |
| Не спускают вору, если он крадет, чтобы насытить душу свою, когда он голоден; | Men do not have a low opinion of a thief who takes food when he is in need of it: |
| но, будучи пойман, он заплатит всемеро, отдаст все имущество дома своего. | But if he is taken in the act he will have to give back seven times as much, giving up all his property which is in his house. |
| Кто же прелюбодействует с женщиною, у того нет ума; тот губит душу свою, кто делает это: | He who takes another man's wife is without all sense: he who does it is the cause of destruction to his soul. |
| побои и позор найдет он, и бесчестие его не изгладится, | Wounds will be his and loss of honour, and his shame may not be washed away. |
| потому что ревность--ярость мужа, и не пощадит он в день мщения, | For bitter is the wrath of an angry husband; in the day of punishment he will have no mercy. |
| не примет никакого выкупа и не удовольствуется, сколько бы ты ни умножал даров. | He will not take any payment; and he will not make peace with you though your money offerings are increased. |
