Isaia 42:1 Ecco il mio servo, io lo sosterrò; il mio eletto in cui si compiace l’anima mia; io ho messo il mio spirito su lui, egli insegnerà la giustizia alle nazioni.	Isaiah 42:1 See my servant, whom I am supporting, my loved one, in whom I take delight: I have put my spirit on him; he will give the knowledge of the true God to the nations.
Isaia 42:2 Egli non griderà, non alzerà la voce, non la farà udire per le strade.	Isaiah 42:2 He will make no cry, his voice will not be loud: his words will not come to men's ears in the streets.
Isaia 42:3 Non spezzerà la canna rotta e non spegnerà il lucignolo fumante; insegnerà la giustizia secondo verità.	Isaiah 42:3 He will not let a crushed stem be quite broken, and he will not let a feebly burning light be put out: he will go on sending out the true word to the peoples.
Isaia 42:4 Egli non verrà meno e non s’abbatterà finché abbia stabilita la giustizia sulla terra; e le isole aspetteranno fiduciose la sua legge.	Isaiah 42:4 His light will not be put out, and he will not be crushed, till he has given the knowledge of the true God to the earth, and the sea-lands will be waiting for his teaching.
Isaia 42:5 Così parla Iddio, l’Eterno, che ha creato i cieli e li ha spiegati, che ha distesa la terra con tutto quello ch’essa produce, che dà il respiro al popolo che v’è sopra, e lo spirito a quelli che vi camminano.	Isaiah 42:5 God the Lord, even he who made the heavens, measuring them out on high; stretching out the earth, and giving its produce; he who gives breath to the people on it, and life to those who go about on it, says:
Isaia 42:6 Io, l’Eterno, t’ho chiamato secondo giustizia, e ti prenderò per la mano, ti custodirò e farò di te l’alleanza del popolo, la luce delle nazioni,	Isaiah 42:6 I the Lord have made you the vessel of my purpose, I have taken you by the hand, and kept you safe, and I have given you to be an agreement to the people, and a light to the nations:
Isaia 42:7 per aprire gli occhi dei ciechi, per trarre dal carcere i prigioni, e dalle segrete quei che giacciono nelle tenebre.	Isaiah 42:7 To give eyes to the blind, to make free the prisoners from the prison, to let out those who are shut up in the dark.
Isaia 42:8 Io sono l’Eterno; tale è il mio nome; e io non darò la mia gloria ad un altro, né la lode che m’appartiene agl’idoli.	Isaiah 42:8 I am the Lord; that is my name: I will not give my glory to another, or my praise to pictured images.
Isaia 42:9 Ecco, le cose di prima sono avvenute, e io ve ne annunzio delle nuove; prima che germoglino, ve le rendo note.	Isaiah 42:9 See, the things said before have come about, and now I give word of new things: before they come I give you news of them.
Isaia 42:10 Cantate all’Eterno un cantico nuovo, cantate le sue lodi alle estremità della terra, o voi che scendeste sul mare, ed anche gli esseri ch’esso contiene, le isole e i loro abitanti!	Isaiah 42:10 Make a new song to the Lord, and let his praise be sounded from the end of the earth; you who go down to the sea, and everything in it, the sea-lands and their people.
Isaia 42:11 Il deserto e le sue città levino la voce! Levin la voce i villaggi occupati da Kedar! Esultino gli abitanti di Sela, diano in gridi di gioia dalla vetta dei monti!	Isaiah 42:11 Let the waste land and its flocks be glad, the tent-circles of Kedar; let the people of the rock give a glad cry, from the top of the mountains let them make a sound of joy.
Isaia 42:12 Diano gloria all’Eterno, proclamino la sua lode nelle isole!	Isaiah 42:12 Let them give glory to the Lord, sounding his praise in the sea-lands.
Isaia 42:13 L’Eterno s’avanzerà come un eroe, ecciterà il suo ardore come un guerriero; manderà un grido, un grido tremendo, trionferà dei suoi nemici.	Isaiah 42:13 The Lord will go out as a man of war, he will be moved to wrath like a fighting-man: his voice will be strong, he will give a loud cry; he will go against his attackers like a man of war.
Isaia 42:14 Per lungo tempo mi son taciuto, me ne sono stato cheto, mi son trattenuto; ora griderò come una donna ch’è sopra parto, respirerò affannosamente e sbufferò ad un tempo.	Isaiah 42:14 I have long been quiet, I have kept myself in and done nothing: now I will make sounds of pain like a woman in childbirth, breathing hard and quickly.
Isaia 42:15 Io devasterò montagne e colline, ne farò seccare tutte l’erbe; ridurrò i fiumi in isole, asciugherò gli stagni.	Isaiah 42:15 I will make waste mountains and hills, drying up all their plants; and I will make rivers dry, and pools dry land.
Isaia 42:16 Farò camminare i ciechi per una via che ignorano, li menerò per sentieri che non conoscono; muterò dinanzi a loro le tenebre in luce, renderò piani i luoghi scabri. Son queste le cose ch’io farò, e non li abbandonerò.	Isaiah 42:16 And I will take the blind by a way of which they had no knowledge, guiding them by roads strange to them: I will make the dark places light before them, and the rough places level. These things will I do and will not give them up.
Isaia 42:17 E volgeran le spalle, coperti d’onta, quelli che confidano negl’idoli scolpiti e dicono alle immagini fuse: "Voi siete i nostri dèi!"	Isaiah 42:17 They will be turned back and be greatly shamed who put their hope in pictured images, who say to metal images, You are our gods.
Isaia 42:18 Ascoltate, o sordi, e voi, ciechi, guardate e vedete!	Isaiah 42:18 Give ear, you whose ears are shut; and let your eyes be open, you blind, so that you may see.
Isaia 42:19 Chi è cieco, se non il mio servo, e sordo come il messo che io invio? Chi è cieco come colui ch’è mio amico, cieco come il servo dell’Eterno?	Isaiah 42:19 Who is blind, but my servant? who has his ears stopped, but he whom I send? who is blind as my true one, or who has his ears shut like the Lord's servant?
Isaia 42:20 Tu hai visto molte cose, ma non v’hai posto mente; gli orecchi erano aperti, ma non hai udito nulla.	Isaiah 42:20 Seeing much, but keeping nothing in mind; his ears are open, but there is no hearing.
Isaia 42:21 L’Eterno s’è compiaciuto, per amor della sua giustizia, di rendere la sua legge grande e magnifica;	Isaiah 42:21 It was the Lord's pleasure, because of his righteousness, to make the teaching great and give it honour.
Isaia 42:22 ma questo è un popolo saccheggiato e spogliato; sono tutti legati in caverne, rinchiusi nelle segrete. Sono abbandonati al saccheggio, e non v’è chi li liberi; spogliati, e non v’è chi dica: "Restituisci!"	Isaiah 42:22 But this is a people whose property has been taken away from them by force; they are all taken in holes, and shut up in prisons: they are made prisoners, and no one makes them free; they are taken by force and no one says, Give them back.
Isaia 42:23 Chi di voi presterà orecchio a questo? Chi starà attento e ascolterà in avvenire?	Isaiah 42:23 Who is there among you who will give ear to this? who will give attention to it for the time to come?
Isaia 42:24 Chi ha abbandonato Giacobbe al saccheggio e Israele in balìa de’ predoni? Non è egli stato l’Eterno? Colui contro il quale abbiamo peccato, e nelle cui vie non s’è voluto camminare, e alla cui legge non s’è ubbidito?	Isaiah 42:24 Who gave up Jacob to those who took away his goods, and Israel to his attackers? Did not the Lord? he against whom they did wrong, and in whose ways they would not go, turning away from his teaching.
Isaia 42:25 Perciò egli ha riversato su Israele l’ardore della sua ira e la violenza della guerra; e la guerra l’ha avvolto nelle sue fiamme, ed ei non ha capito; l’ha consumato, ed egli non se l’è presa a cuore.	Isaiah 42:25 For this reason he let loose on him the heat of his wrath, and his strength was like a flame; and it put fire round about him, but he did not see it; he was burned, but did not take it to heart.
