Ecclesiaste 8:1 Chi è come il savio? e chi conosce la spiegazione delle cose? La sapienza d’un uomo gli fa risplendere la faccia, e la durezza del suo volto n’è mutata.	Ecclesiastes 8:1 Who is like the wise man? and to whom is the sense of anything clear? A man's wisdom makes his face shining, and his hard face will be changed.
Ecclesiaste 8:2 Io ti dico: "Osserva gli ordini del re"; e questo, a motivo del giuramento che hai fatto dinanzi a Dio.	Ecclesiastes 8:2 I say to you, Keep the king's law, from respect for the oath of God.
Ecclesiaste 8:3 Non t’affrettare ad allontanarti dalla sua presenza, e non persistere in una cosa cattiva; poich’egli può fare tutto quello che gli piace,	Ecclesiastes 8:3 Be not quick to go from before him. Be not fixed in an evil design, because he does whatever is pleasing to him.
Ecclesiaste 8:4 perché la parola del re è potente; e chi gli può dire: "Che fai?"	Ecclesiastes 8:4 The word of a king has authority; and who may say to him, What is this you are doing?
Ecclesiaste 8:5 Chi osserva il comandamento non conosce disgrazia, e il cuore dell’uomo savio sa che v’è un tempo e un giudizio;	Ecclesiastes 8:5 Whoever keeps the law will come to no evil: and a wise man's heart has knowledge of time and of decision.
Ecclesiaste 8:6 perché per ogni cosa v’è un tempo e un giudizio; giacché la malvagità dell’uomo pesa grave addosso a lui.	Ecclesiastes 8:6 For every purpose there is a time and a decision, because the sorrow of man is great in him.
Ecclesiaste 8:7 L’uomo, infatti, non sa quel che avverrà; poiché chi gli dirà come andranno le cose?	Ecclesiastes 8:7 No one is certain what is to be, and who is able to say to him when it will be?
Ecclesiaste 8:8 Non v’è uomo che abbia potere sul vento per poterlo trattenere, o che abbia potere sul giorno della morte; non v’è congedo in tempo di guerra, e l’iniquità non può salvare chi la commette.	Ecclesiastes 8:8 No man has authority over the wind, to keep the wind; or is ruler over the day of his death. In war no man's time is free, and evil will not keep the sinner safe.
Ecclesiaste 8:9 Io ho veduto tutto questo, ed ho posto mente a tutto quello che si fa sotto il sole, quando l’uomo signoreggia sugli uomini per loro sventura.	Ecclesiastes 8:9 All this have I seen, and have given my heart to all the work which is done under the sun: there is a time when man has power over man for his destruction.
Ecclesiaste 8:10 Ed ho veduto allora degli empi ricever sepoltura ed entrare nel loro riposo, e di quelli che s’eran condotti con rettitudine andarsene lungi dal luogo santo, ed esser dimenticati nella città. Anche questo è vanità.	Ecclesiastes 8:10 And then I saw evil men put to rest, taken even from the holy place; and they went about and were praised in the town because of what they had done. This again is to no purpose.
Ecclesiaste 8:11 Siccome la sentenza contro una mala azione non si eseguisce prontamente, il cuore dei figliuoli degli uomini è pieno della voglia di fare il male.	Ecclesiastes 8:11 Because punishment for an evil work comes not quickly, the minds of the sons of men are fully given to doing evil.
Ecclesiaste 8:12 Quantunque il peccatore faccia cento volte il male e pur prolunghi i suoi giorni, pure io so che il bene è per quelli che temono Dio, che provan timore nel suo cospetto.	Ecclesiastes 8:12 Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and his life is long, I am certain that it will be well for those who go in fear of God and are in fear before him.
Ecclesiaste 8:13 Ma non v’è bene per l’empio, ed ei non prolungherà i suoi giorni come fa l’ombra che s’allunga; perché non prova timore nel cospetto di Dio.	Ecclesiastes 8:13 But it will not be well for the evil-doer; he will not make his days long like a shade, because he has no fear before God.
Ecclesiaste 8:14 V’è una vanità che avviene sulla terra; ed è che vi son dei giusti i quali son trattati come se avessero fatto l’opera degli empi, e vi son degli empi i quali son trattati come se avessero fatto l’opera de’ giusti. Io ho detto che anche questo è vanità.	Ecclesiastes 8:14 There is a thing which is to no purpose done on the earth: that there are good men to whom is given the same punishment as those who are evil, and there are evil men who get the reward of the good. I say that this again is to no purpose.
Ecclesiaste 8:15 Così io ho lodata la gioia, perché non v’è per l’uomo altro bene sotto il sole, fuori del mangiare, del bere e del gioire; questo è quello che lo accompagnerà in mezzo al suo lavoro, durante i giorni di vita che Dio gli dà sotto il sole.	Ecclesiastes 8:15 So I gave praise to joy, because there is nothing better for a man to do under the sun than to take meat and drink and be happy; for that will be with him in his work all the days of his life which God gives him under the sun.
Ecclesiaste 8:16 Quand’io ho applicato il mio cuore a conoscere la sapienza e a considerare le cose che si fanno sulla terra perché gli occhi dell’uomo non godono sonno né giorno né notte,	Ecclesiastes 8:16 When I gave my mind to the knowledge of wisdom and to seeing the business which is done on the earth (and there are those whose eyes see not sleep by day or by night),
Ecclesiaste 8:17 allora ho mirato tutta l’opera di Dio, e ho veduto che l’uomo è impotente a spiegare quello che si fa sotto il sole; egli ha un bell’affaticarsi a cercarne la spiegazione; non riesce a trovarla; e anche se il savio pretende di saperla, non però può trovarla.	Ecclesiastes 8:17 Then I saw all the work of God, and that man may not get knowledge of the work which is done under the sun; because, if a man gives hard work to the search he will not get knowledge, and even if the wise man seems to be coming to the end of his search, still he will be without knowledge.
