Mateo 3:1 Y EN aquellos días vino Juan el Bautista predicando en el desierto de Judea,	Matthew 3:1 And in those days John the Baptist came preaching in the waste land of Judaea,
Mateo 3:2 Y diciendo: Arrepentíos, que el reino de los cielos se ha acercado.	Matthew 3:2 Saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin; for the kingdom of heaven is near.
Mateo 3:3 Porque éste es aquel del cual fué dicho por el profeta Isaías, que dijo: Voz de uno que clama en el desierto: Aparejad el camino del Señor, Enderezad sus veredas.	Matthew 3:3 For this is he of whom Isaiah the prophet said, The voice of one crying in the waste land, Make ready the way of the Lord, make his roads straight.
Mateo 3:4 Y tenía Juan su vestido de pelos de camellos, y una cinta de cuero alrededor de sus lomos; y su comida era langostas y miel silvestre.	Matthew 3:4 Now John was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather band about him; and his food was locusts and honey.
Mateo 3:5 Entonces salía á él Jerusalem, y toda Judea, y toda la provincia de alrededor del Jordán;	Matthew 3:5 Then Jerusalem and all Judaea went out to him, and all the people from near Jordan;
Mateo 3:6 Y eran bautizados de él en el Jordán, confesando sus pecados.	Matthew 3:6 And they were given baptism by him in the river Jordan, saying openly that they had done wrong.
Mateo 3:7 Y viendo él muchos de los Fariseos y de los Saduceos, que venían á su bautismo, decíales: Generación de víboras, ¿quién os ha enseñado á huir de la ira que vendrá?	Matthew 3:7 But when he saw a number of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Offspring of snakes, at whose word are you going in flight from the wrath to come?
Mateo 3:8 Haced pues frutos dignos de arrepentimiento,	Matthew 3:8 Let your change of heart be seen in your works:
Mateo 3:9 Y no penséis decir dentro de vosotros: á Abraham tenemos por padre: porque yo os digo, que puede Dios despertar hijos á Abraham aun de estas piedras.	Matthew 3:9 And say not to yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; because I say to you that God is able from these stones to make children for Abraham.
Mateo 3:10 Ahora, ya también la segur está puesta á la raíz de los árboles; y todo árbol que no hace buen fruto, es cortado y echado en el fuego.	Matthew 3:10 And even now the axe is put to the root of the trees; every tree then which does not give good fruit is cut down, and put into the fire.
Mateo 3:11 Yo á la verdad os bautizo en agua para arrepentimiento; mas el que viene tras mí, más poderoso es que yo; los zapatos del cual yo no soy digno de llevar; él os bautizará en Espíritu Santo y en fuego	Matthew 3:11 Truly, I give baptism with water to those of you whose hearts are changed; but he who comes after me is greater than I, whose shoes I am not good enough to take up: he will give you baptism with the Holy Spirit and with fire:
Mateo 3:12 Su aventador en su mano está, y aventará su era: y allegará su trigo en el alfolí, y quemará la paja en fuego que nunca se apagará.	Matthew 3:12 In whose hand is the instrument with which he will make clean his grain; he will put the good grain in his store, but the waste will be burned up in the fire which will never be put out.
Mateo 3:13 Entonces Jesús vino de Galilea á Juan al Jordán, para ser bautizado de él.	Matthew 3:13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be given baptism by him.
Mateo 3:14 Mas Juan lo resistía mucho, diciendo: Yo he menester ser bautizado de ti, ¿y tú vienes á mí?	Matthew 3:14 But John would have kept him back, saying, It is I who have need of baptism from you, and do you come to me?
Mateo 3:15 Empero respondiendo Jesús le dijo: Deja ahora; porque así nos conviene cumplir toda justicia. Entonces le dejó.	Matthew 3:15 But Jesus made answer, saying to him, Let it be so now: because so it is right for us to make righteousness complete. Then he gave him baptism.
Mateo 3:16 Y Jesús, después que fué bautizado, subió luego del agua; y he aquí los cielos le fueron abiertos, y vió al Espíritu de Dios que descendía como paloma, y venía sobre él.	Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, having been given baptism, straight away went up from the water; and, the heavens opening, he saw the Spirit of God coming down on him as a dove;
Mateo 3:17 Y he aquí una voz de los cielos que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado, en el cual tengo contentamiento.	Matthew 3:17 And a voice came out of heaven, saying, This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.
