| Y A SUS discípulos dice: Imposible es que no vengan escándalos; mas ¡ay de aquél por quien vienen! | And he said to his disciples, It is necessary for causes of trouble to come about, but unhappy is he by whom they come. |
| Mejor le fuera, si le pusiesen al cuello una piedra de molino, y le lanzasen en el mar, que escandalizar á uno de estos pequeñitos. | It would be well for him if a great stone was put round his neck and he was dropped into the sea, before he made trouble for any of these little ones. |
| Mirad por vosotros: si pecare contra ti tu hermano, repréndele; y si se arrepintiere, perdónale. | Give attention to yourselves: if your brother does wrong, say a sharp word to him; and if he has sorrow for his sin, let him have forgiveness. |
| Y si siete veces al día pecare contra ti, y siete veces al día se volviere á ti, diciendo, pésame, perdónale. | And if he does you wrong seven times in a day, and seven times comes to you and says, I have regret for what I have done; let him have forgiveness. |
| Y dijeron los apóstoles al Señor: Auméntanos la fe. | And the twelve said to the Lord, Make our faith greater. |
| Entonces el Señor dijo: Si tuvieseis fe como un grano de mostaza, diréis á este sicómoro: Desarráigate, y plántate en el mar; y os obedecerá. | And the Lord said, If your faith was only as great as a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this tree, Be rooted up and planted in the sea; and it would be done. |
| ¿Y quién de vosotros tiene un siervo que ara ó apacienta, que vuelto del campo le diga luego: Pasa, siéntate á la mesa? | But which of you, having a servant who is ploughing or keeping sheep, will say to him, when he comes in from the field, Come now and be seated and have a meal, |
| ¿No le dice antes: Adereza qué cene, y arremángate, y sírveme hasta que haya comido y bebido; y después de esto, come tú y bebe? | Will he not say, Get a meal for me, and make yourself ready and see to my needs till I have had my food and drink; and after that you may have yours? |
| ¿Da gracias al siervo porque hizo lo que le había sido mandado? Pienso que no. | Does he give praise to the servant because he did what was ordered? |
| Así también vosotros, cuando hubiereis hecho todo lo que os es mandado, decid: Siervos inútiles somos, porque lo que debíamos hacer, hicimos. | In the same way, when you have done all the things which are given you to do, say, There is no profit in us, for we have only done what we were ordered to do. |
| Y aconteció que yendo él á Jerusalem, pasaba por medio de Samaria y de Galilea. | And it came about that when they were on the way to Jerusalem he went through Samaria and Galilee. |
| Y entrando en una aldea, viniéronle al encuentro diez hombres leprosos, los cuales se pararon de lejos, | And when he went into a certain small town he came across ten men who were lepers, and they, keeping themselves at a distance, |
| Y alzaron la voz, diciendo: Jesús, Maestro, ten misericordia de nosotros. | Said, in loud voices, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. |
| Y como él los vió, les dijo: Id, mostraos á los sacerdotes. Y aconteció, que yendo ellos, fueron limpios. | And when he saw them he said, Go, and let the priests see you. And, while they were going, they were made clean. |
| Entonces uno de ellos, como se vió que estaba limpio, volvió, glorificando á Dios á gran voz; | And one of them, when he saw that he was clean, turning back, gave praise to God in a loud voice; |
| Y derribóse sobre el rostro á sus pies, dándole gracias: y éste era Samaritano. | And, falling down on his face at the feet of Jesus, he gave the credit to him; and he was a man of Samaria. |
| Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¿No son diez los que fueron limpios? ¿Y los nueve dónde están? | And Jesus said, Were there not ten men who were made clean? where are the nine? |
| ¿No hubo quien volviese y diese gloria á Dios sino este extranjero? | Have not any of them come back to give glory to God, but only this one from a strange land? |
| Y díjole: Levántate, vete; tu fe te ha salvado. | And he said to him, Get up, and go on your way; your faith has made you well. |
| Y preguntado por los Fariseos, cuándo había de venir el reino de Dios, les respondió y dijo: El reino de Dios no vendrá con advertencia; | And when the Pharisees put questions to him about when the kingdom of God would come, he gave them an answer and said, The kingdom of God will not come through observation: |
| Ni dirán: Helo aquí, ó helo allí: porque he aquí el reino de Dios entre vosotros está. | And men will not say, See, it is here! or, There! for the kingdom of God is among you. |
| Y dijo á sus discípulos: Tiempo vendrá, cuando desearéis ver uno de los días del Hijo del hombre, y no lo veréis. | And he said to his disciples, The time will come when you will have a great desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, but you will not see it. |
| Y os dirán: Helo aquí, ó helo allí. No vayáis, ni sigáis. | And if they say to you, See, it is there! or, It is here! do not go away, or go after them. |
| Porque como el relámpago, relampagueando desde una parte de debajo del cielo, resplandece hasta la otra debajo del cielo, así también será el Hijo del hombre en su día. | For as in a thunderstorm the bright light is seen from one end of the sky to the other, so will the Son of man be when his time comes. |
| Mas primero es necesario que padezca mucho, y sea reprobado de esta generación. | But first, he will have to undergo much and be put on one side by this generation. |
| Y como fué en los días de Noé, así también será en los días del Hijo del hombre. | And as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the day of the Son of man. |
| Comían, bebían, los hombres tomaban mujeres, y las mujeres maridos, hasta el día que entró Noé en el arca; y vino el diluvio, y destruyó á todos. | They were feasting and taking wives and getting married, till the day of the overflowing of the waters, when Noah went into the ark, and they all came to destruction. |
| Asimismo también como fué en los días de Lot; comían, bebían, compraban, vendían, plantaban, edificaban; | In the same way, in the days of Lot; they were feasting and trading, they were planting and building; |
| Mas el día que Lot salió de Sodoma, llovió del cielo fuego y azufre, y destruyó á todos: | But on the day when Lot went out of Sodom, fire came down from heaven and destruction came on them all. |
| Como esto será el día en que el Hijo del hombre se manifestará. | So will it be in the day of the revelation of the Son of man. |
| En aquel día, el que estuviere en el terrado, y sus alhajas en casa, no descienda á tomarlas: y el que en el campo, asimismo no vuelva atrás. | On that day, if anyone is on the roof of the house, and his goods are in the house, let him not go down to take them away; and let him who is in the field not go back to his house. |
| Acordaos de la mujer de Lot. | Keep in mind Lot's wife. |
| Cualquiera que procurare salvar su vida, la perderá; y cualquiera que la perdiere, la salvará. | If anyone makes an attempt to keep his life, it will be taken from him, but if anyone gives up his life, he will keep it. |
| Os digo que en aquella noche estarán dos en una cama; el uno será tomado, y el otro será dejado. | I say to you, In that night there will be two men sleeping in one bed, and one will be taken away and the other let go. |
| Dos mujeres estarán moliendo juntas: la una será tomada, y la otra dejada. | Two women will be crushing grain together; one will be taken away and the other let go. |
| Dos estarán en el campo; el uno será tomado, y el otro dejado. | [] |
| Y respondiendo, le dicen: ¿Dónde, Señor? Y él les dijo: Donde estuviere el cuerpo, allá se juntarán también las águilas. | And they, answering him, said, Where, Lord? And he said to them, Where the body is, there will the eagles come together. |
