Isaiah 9

Isaías 9:1 ^
AUNQUE no será esta oscuridad tal como la aflicción que le vino en el tiempo que livianamente tocaron la primera vez á la tierra de Zabulón, y á la tierra de Nephtalí; y después cuando agravaron por la vía de la mar, de esa parte del Jordán, en Galilea de las gentes.
Isaiah 9:1 ^
In earlier times he made the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali of small value, but after that he gave it glory, by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
Isaías 9:2 ^
El pueblo que andaba en tinieblas vió gran luz: los que moraban en tierra de sombra de muerte, luz resplandeció sobre ellos.
Isaiah 9:2 ^
The people who went in the dark have seen a great light, and for those who were living in the land of the deepest night, the light is shining.
Isaías 9:3 ^
Aumentando la gente, no aumentaste la alegría. Alegraránse delante de ti como se alegran en la siega, como se gozan cuando reparten despojos.
Isaiah 9:3 ^
You have made them very glad, increasing their joy. They are glad before you as men are glad in the time of getting in the grain, or when they make division of the goods taken in war.
Isaías 9:4 ^
Porque tú quebraste su pesado yugo, y la vara de su hombro, y el cetro de su exactor, como en el día de Madián.
Isaiah 9:4 ^
For by your hand the yoke on his neck and the rod on his back, even the rod of his cruel master, have been broken, as in the day of Midian.
Isaías 9:5 ^
Porque toda batalla de quien pelea es con estruendo, y con revolcamiento de vestidura en sangre: mas esto será para quema, y pábulo del fuego.
Isaiah 9:5 ^
For every boot of the man of war with his sounding step, and the clothing rolled in blood, will be for burning, food for the fire.
Isaías 9:6 ^
Porque un niño nos es nacido, hijo nos es dado; y el principado sobre su hombro: y llamaráse su nombre Admirable, Consejero, Dios fuerte, Padre eterno, Príncipe de paz.
Isaiah 9:6 ^
For to us a child has come, to us a son is given; and the government has been placed in his hands; and he has been named Wise Guide, Strong God, Father for ever, Prince of Peace.
Isaías 9:7 ^
Lo dilatado de su imperio y la paz no tendrán término, sobre el trono de David, y sobre su reino, disponiéndolo y confirmándolo en juicio y en justicia desde ahora para siempre. El celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto.
Isaiah 9:7 ^
Of the increase of his rule and of peace there will be no end, on the seat of David, and in his kingdom; to make it strong, supporting it with wise decision and righteousness, now and for ever. By the fixed purpose of the Lord of armies this will be done.
Isaías 9:8 ^
El Señor envió palabra á Jacob, y cayó en Israel.
Isaiah 9:8 ^
The Lord has sent a word to Jacob, and it has come on Israel;
Isaías 9:9 ^
Y la sabrá el pueblo, todo él, Ephraim y los moradores de Samaria, que con soberbia y con altivez de corazón dicen:
Isaiah 9:9 ^
And all the people will have experience of it, even Ephraim and the men of Samaria, who say in the pride of their uplifted hearts,
Isaías 9:10 ^
Los ladrillos cayeron, mas edificaremos de cantería; cortaron los cabrahigos, mas cedros pondremos en su lugar.
Isaiah 9:10 ^
The bricks have come down, but we will put up buildings of cut stone in their place: the sycamores are cut down, but they will be changed to cedars.
Isaías 9:11 ^
Empero Jehová ensalzará los enemigos de Rezín contra él, y juntará sus enemigos;
Isaiah 9:11 ^
For this cause the Lord has made strong the haters of Israel, driving them on to make war against him;
Isaías 9:12 ^
De oriente los Siros, y los Filisteos de poniente; y con toda la boca se tragarán á Israel. Ni con todo eso ha cesado su furor, antes todavía su mano extendida.
Isaiah 9:12 ^
Aram on the east, and the Philistines on the west, who have come against Israel with open mouths. For all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Isaías 9:13 ^
Mas el pueblo no se convirtió al que lo hería, ni buscaron á Jehová de los ejércitos.
Isaiah 9:13 ^
But the heart of the people was not turned to him who sent punishment on them, and they made no prayer to the Lord of armies.
Isaías 9:14 ^
Y Jehová cortará de Israel cabeza y cola, ramo y caña en un mismo día.
Isaiah 9:14 ^
For this cause the Lord took away from Israel head and tail, high and low, in one day.
Isaías 9:15 ^
El viejo y venerable de rostro es la cabeza: el profeta que enseña mentira, este es cola.
Isaiah 9:15 ^
The man who is honoured and responsible is the head, and the prophet who gives false teaching is the tail.
Isaías 9:16 ^
Porque los gobernadores de este pueblo son engañadores; y sus gobernados, perdidos.
Isaiah 9:16 ^
For the guides of this people are the cause of their wandering from the right way, and those who are guided by them come to destruction.
Isaías 9:17 ^
Por tanto, el Señor no tomará contentamiento en sus mancebos, ni de sus huérfanos y viudas tendrá misericordia: porque todos son falsos y malignos, y toda boca habla despropósitos. Con todo esto no ha cesado su furor, antes todavía su mano extendida.
Isaiah 9:17 ^
For this cause the Lord will have no pleasure in their young men, and no pity on their widows and the children without fathers: for they are all haters of God and evil-doers, and foolish words come from every mouth. For all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Isaías 9:18 ^
Porque la maldad se encendió como fuego, cardos y espinas devorará; y encenderáse en lo espeso de la breña, y serán alzados como humo.
Isaiah 9:18 ^
For evil was burning like a fire; the blackberries and thorns were burned up; the thick woods took fire, rolling up in dark clouds of smoke.
Isaías 9:19 ^
Por la ira de Jehová de los ejércitos se oscureció la tierra, y será el pueblo como pábulo del fuego: el hombre no tendrá piedad de su hermano.
Isaiah 9:19 ^
The land was dark with the wrath of the Lord of armies: the people were like those who take men's flesh for food.
Isaías 9:20 ^
Cada uno hurtará á la mano derecha, y tendrá hambre; y comerá á la izquierda, y no se hartará: cada cual comerá la carne de su brazo:
Isaiah 9:20 ^
On the right a man was cutting off bits and was still in need; on the left a man took a meal but had not enough; no man had pity on his brother; every man was making a meal of the flesh of his neighbour.
Isaías 9:21 ^
Manasés á Ephraim, y Ephraim á Manasés, y entrambos contra Judá. Ni con todo esto ha cesado su furor, antes todavía extendida su mano.
Isaiah 9:21 ^
Manasseh was making a meal of Ephraim, and Ephraim of Manasseh; and together they were attacking Judah. For all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
