| He who keeps himself separate for his private purpose goes against all good sense. | Chi si separa dagli altri cerca la propria soddisfazione e s’arrabbia contro tutto ciò ch’è profittevole. |
| A foolish man has no pleasure in good sense, but only to let what is in his heart come to light. | Lo stolto prende piacere, non nella prudenza, ma soltanto nel manifestare ciò che ha nel cuore. |
| When the evil-doer comes, a low opinion comes with him, and with the loss of honour comes shame. | Quando viene l’empio, viene anche lo sprezzo; e, con la vergogna, viene l’obbrobrio. |
| The words of a man's mouth are like deep waters: the fountain of wisdom is like a flowing stream. | Le parole della bocca d’un uomo sono acque profonde; la fonte di sapienza è un rivo che scorre perenne. |
| To have respect for the person of the evil-doer is not good, or to give a wrong decision against the upright. | Non è bene aver per l’empio de’ riguardi personali, per far torto al giusto nel giudizio. |
| A foolish man's lips are a cause of fighting, and his mouth makes him open to blows. | Le labbra dello stolto menano alle liti, e la sua bocca chiama le percosse. |
