Numbers 25:1 Now when Israel was living in Shittim the people became false to the Lord, doing evil with the daughters of Moab:	Numeri 25:1 Or Israele era stanziato a Sittim, e il popolo cominciò a darsi alla impurità con le figliuole di Moab.
Numbers 25:2 For they sent for the people to be present at the offerings made to their gods; and the people took part in their feasts and gave honour to their gods.	Numeri 25:2 Esse invitarono il popolo ai sacrifizi offerti ai loro dèi, e il popolo mangiò e si prostrò dinanzi agli dèi di quelle.
Numbers 25:3 So Israel had relations with the women of Moab in honour of the Baal of Peor: and the Lord was moved to wrath against Israel.	Numeri 25:3 Israele si unì a Baal-Peor, e l’ira dell’Eterno si accese contro Israele.
Numbers 25:4 Then the Lord said to Moses, Take all the chiefs of the people, hanging them up in the sun before the Lord, so that the wrath of the Lord may be turned from Israel.	Numeri 25:4 E l’Eterno disse a Mosè: "Prendi tutti i capi del popolo e falli appiccare davanti all’Eterno, in faccia al sole, affinché l’ardente ira dell’Eterno sia rimossa da Israele".
Numbers 25:5 So Moses said to the judges of Israel, Let everyone put to death those of his men who have had relations with the women of Moab in honour of the Baal of Peor.	Numeri 25:5 E Mosè disse ai giudici d’Israele: "Ciascuno di voi uccida quelli de’ suoi uomini che si sono uniti a Baal-Peor".
Numbers 25:6 Then one of the children of Israel came to his brothers, taking with him a woman of Midian, before the eyes of Moses and all the meeting of the people, while they were weeping at the door of the Tent of meeting.	Numeri 25:6 Ed ecco che uno dei figliuoli d’Israele venne e condusse ai suoi fratelli una donna Madianita, sotto gli occhi di Mosè e di tutta la raunanza dei figliuoli d’Israele, mentr’essi stavano piangendo all’ingresso della tenda di convegno.
Numbers 25:7 And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, seeing it, got up from among the people and took a spear in his hand,	Numeri 25:7 La qual cosa avendo veduta Fineas, figliuolo di Eleazar, figliuolo del sacerdote Aaronne, si alzò di mezzo alla raunanza e die’ di piglio ad una lancia;
Numbers 25:8 And went after the man of Israel into the tent, driving the spear through the two of them, through the man of Israel and through the stomach of the woman. So the disease was stopped among the children of Israel.	Numeri 25:8 andò dietro a quell’uomo d’Israele nella sua tenda, e li trafisse ambedue, l’uomo d’Israele e la donna, nel basso ventre. E il flagello cessò tra i figliuoli d’Israele.
Numbers 25:9 But twenty-four thousand of them had come to their death by the disease.	Numeri 25:9 Di quel flagello morirono ventiquattromila persone.
Numbers 25:10 And the Lord said to Moses,	Numeri 25:10 L’Eterno parlò a Mosè, dicendo:
Numbers 25:11 Through Phinehas, and because of his passion for my honour, my wrath has been turned away from the children of Israel, so that I have not sent destruction on them all in my wrath.	Numeri 25:11 "Fineas, figliuolo di Eleazar, figliuolo del sacerdote Aaronne, ha rimossa l’ira mia dai figliuoli d’Israele, perch’egli è stato animato del mio zelo in mezzo ad essi; ed io, nella mia indignazione, non ho sterminato i figliuoli d’Israele.
Numbers 25:12 So say to them that I will make with him an agreement of peace:	Numeri 25:12 Perciò digli ch’io fermo con lui un patto di pace,
Numbers 25:13 And by this agreement, he and his sons after him have the right to be priests for ever; because, by his care for the honour of his God, he took away the sin of the children of Israel.	Numeri 25:13 che sarà per lui e per la sua progenie dopo di lui l’alleanza d’un sacerdozio perpetuo, perch’egli ha avuto zelo per il suo Dio, e ha fatta l’espiazione per i figliuoli d’Israele".
Numbers 25:14 Now the man of Israel who was put to death with the woman of Midian was Zimri, the son of Salu, a chief of one of the families of the Simeonites.	Numeri 25:14 Or l’uomo d’Israele che fu ucciso con la donna Madianita, si chiamava Zimri, figliuolo di Salu, capo di una casa patriarcale dei Simeoniti.
Numbers 25:15 And the woman of Midian who was put to death was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was the head of a family in Midian.	Numeri 25:15 E la donna che fu uccisa, la Madianita, si chiamava Cozbi, figliuola di Tsur, capo della gente di una casa patriarcale in Madian.
Numbers 25:16 Then the Lord said to Moses,	Numeri 25:16 Poi l’Eterno parlò a Mosè, dicendo:
Numbers 25:17 Take up arms against the Midianites and overcome them;	Numeri 25:17 "Trattate i Madianiti come nemici e uccideteli,
Numbers 25:18 For they are a danger to you with their false ways, causing sin to come on you in the question of Peor, and because of Cozbi, their sister, the daughter of the chief of Midian, who was put to death at the time of the disease which came on you because of Peor.	Numeri 25:18 poiché essi vi hanno trattati da nemici con gl’inganni mediante i quali v’hanno sedotti nell’affare di Peor e nell’affare di Cozbi, figliuola d’un principe di Madian, loro sorella, che fu uccisa il giorno della piaga causata dall’affare di Peor.
