Jeremiah 4:1 If you will come back, O Israel, says the Lord, you will come back to me: and if you will put away your disgusting ways, you will not be sent away from before me.	Geremia 4:1 O Israele, se tu torni, dice l’Eterno, se tu torni a me, e se togli dal mio cospetto le tue abominazioni, se non vai più vagando qua e là
Jeremiah 4:2 And you will take your oath, By the living Lord, in good faith and wisdom and righteousness; and the nations will make use of you as a blessing, and in you will they take a pride.	Geremia 4:2 e giuri per l’Eterno che vive! con verità, con rettitudine e con giustizia, allora le nazioni saranno benedette in te, e in te si glorieranno.
Jeremiah 4:3 For this is what the Lord says to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem: Get your unworked land ploughed up, do not put in your seeds among thorns.	Geremia 4:3 Poiché così parla l’Eterno a quei di Giuda e di Gerusalemme: Dissodatevi un campo nuovo, e non seminate fra le spine!
Jeremiah 4:4 Undergo a circumcision of the heart, you men of Judah and people of Jerusalem: or my wrath may come out like fire, burning so that no one is able to put it out, because of the evil of your doings.	Geremia 4:4 Circoncidetevi per l’Eterno, circoncidete i vostri cuori, o uomini di Giuda e abitanti di Gerusalemme, affinché il mio furore non scoppi come un fuoco, e non s’infiammi sì che nessuno possa spegnerlo, a motivo della malvagità delle vostre azioni!
Jeremiah 4:5 Say openly in Judah, give it out in Jerusalem, and say, Let the horn be sounded in the land: crying out in a loud voice, Come together, and let us go into the walled towns.	Geremia 4:5 Annunziate in Giuda, bandite questo in Gerusalemme, e dite: "Suonate le trombe nel paese!" gridate forte e dite: "Adunatevi ed entriamo nelle città forti!"
Jeremiah 4:6 Put up a flag for a sign to Zion: go in flight so that you may be safe, waiting no longer: for I will send evil from the north, and a great destruction.	Geremia 4:6 Alzate la bandiera verso Sion, cercate un rifugio, non vi fermate, perch’io faccio venire dal settentrione una calamità e una grande rovina.
Jeremiah 4:7 A lion has gone up from his secret place in the woods, and one who makes waste the nations is on his way; he has gone out from his place, to make your land unpeopled, so that your towns will be made waste, with no man living in them.	Geremia 4:7 Un leone balza fuori dal folto del bosco, e un distruttore di nazioni s’è messo in via, ha lasciato il suo luogo, per ridurre il tuo paese in desolazione, sì che le tue città saranno rovinate e prive d’abitanti.
Jeremiah 4:8 For this put on haircloth, with weeping and loud crying: for the burning wrath of the Lord is not turned back from us.	Geremia 4:8 Perciò, cingetevi di sacchi, fate cordoglio, mandate lamenti! perché l’ardente ira dell’Eterno non s’è stornata da noi.
Jeremiah 4:9 And it will come about in that day, says the Lord, that the heart of the king will be dead in him, and the hearts of the rulers; and the priests will be overcome with fear, and the prophets with wonder.	Geremia 4:9 E in quel giorno avverrà, dice l’Eterno, che il cuore del re e il cuore de’ capi verranno meno, i sacerdoti saranno attoniti, e i profeti stupefatti.
Jeremiah 4:10 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! your words were not true when you said to this people and to Jerusalem, You will have peace; when the sword has come even to the soul.	Geremia 4:10 Allora io dissi: "Ahi! Signore, Eterno! tu hai dunque ingannato questo popolo e Gerusalemme dicendo: Voi avrete pace mentre la spada penetra fino all’anima".
Jeremiah 4:11 At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A burning wind from the open hilltops in the waste land is blowing on the daughter of my people, not for separating or cleaning the grain;	Geremia 4:11 In quel tempo si dirà a questo popolo e a Gerusalemme: Un vento ardente viene dalle alture del deserto verso la figliuola del mio popolo, non per vagliare, non per nettare il grano;
Jeremiah 4:12 A full wind will come for me: and now I will give my decision against them.	Geremia 4:12 un vento anche più impetuoso di quello verrà da parte mia; ora anch’io pronunzierò la sentenza contro di loro.
Jeremiah 4:13 See, he will come up like the clouds, and his war-carriages like the storm-wind: his horses are quicker than eagles. Sorrow is ours, for destruction has come on us.	Geremia 4:13 Ecco, l’invasore sale come fan le nuvole, e i suoi carri son come un turbine; i suoi cavalli son più rapidi delle aquile. "Guai a noi! poiché siam devastati!"
Jeremiah 4:14 O Jerusalem, make your heart clean from evil, so that you may have salvation. How long are evil purposes to have a resting-place in you?	Geremia 4:14 O Gerusalemme, netta il tuo cuore dalla malvagità, affinché tu sia salvata. Fino a quando albergheranno in te i tuoi pensieri iniqui?
Jeremiah 4:15 For a voice is sounding from Dan, giving out evil from the hills of Ephraim:	Geremia 4:15 Poiché una voce che viene da Dan annunzia la calamità, e la bandisce dai colli d’Efraim.
Jeremiah 4:16 Make this come to the minds of the nations, make a statement openly against Jerusalem, that attackers are coming from a far country and their voices will be loud against the towns of Judah.	Geremia 4:16 "Avvertitene le nazioni, fatelo sapere a Gerusalemme: degli assedianti vengono da un paese lontano, e mandan le loro grida contro le città di Giuda".
Jeremiah 4:17 Like keepers of a field they are against her on every side; because she has been fighting against me, says the Lord.	Geremia 4:17 Si son posti contro Gerusalemme da ogni lato, a guisa di guardie d’un campo, perch’ella s’è ribellata contro di me, dice l’Eterno.
Jeremiah 4:18 Your ways and your doings have made these things come on you; this is your sin; truly it is bitter, going deep into your heart.	Geremia 4:18 Il tuo procedere e le tue azioni t’hanno attirato queste cose; quest’è il frutto della tua malvagità; sì, è amaro; sì, è cosa che t’arriva al cuore.
Jeremiah 4:19 My soul, my soul! I am pained to my inmost heart; my heart is troubled in me; I am not able to be quiet, because the sound of the horn, the note of war, has come to my ears.	Geremia 4:19 Le mie viscere! le mie viscere! Io sento un gran dolore! Oh le pareti del mio cuore! Il mio cuore mi batte in petto! Io non posso tacermi; poiché, anima mia, tu odi il suon della tromba, il grido di guerra.
Jeremiah 4:20 News is given of destruction on destruction; all the land is made waste: suddenly my tents, straight away my curtains, are made waste.	Geremia 4:20 S’annunzia rovina sopra rovina, poiché tutto il paese è devastato. Le mie tende sono distrutte ad un tratto, i miei padiglioni, in un attimo.
Jeremiah 4:21 How long will I go on seeing the flag and hearing the sound of the war-horn?	Geremia 4:21 Fino a quando vedrò la bandiera e udrò il suon della tromba?
Jeremiah 4:22 For my people are foolish, they have no knowledge of me; they are evil-minded children, without sense, all of them: they are wise in evil-doing, but have no knowledge of doing good.	Geremia 4:22 Veramente il mio popolo è stolto, non mi conosce; son de’ figliuoli insensati, e non hanno intelligenza; sono sapienti per fare il male; ma il bene non lo sanno fare.
Jeremiah 4:23 Looking at the earth, I saw that it was waste and without form; and to the heavens, that they had no light.	Geremia 4:23 Io guardo la terra, ed ecco è desolata e deserta; i cieli, e son senza luce.
Jeremiah 4:24 Looking at the mountains, I saw them shaking, and all the hills were moved about.	Geremia 4:24 Guardo i monti, ed ecco tremano, e tutti i colli sono agitati.
Jeremiah 4:25 Looking, I saw that there was no man, and all the birds of heaven had gone in flight.	Geremia 4:25 Guardo, ed ecco non c’è uomo, e tutti gli uccelli del cielo son volati via.
Jeremiah 4:26 Looking, I saw that the fertile field was a waste, and all its towns were broken down before the Lord and before his burning wrath.	Geremia 4:26 Guardo, ed ecco il Carmelo è un deserto, e tutte le sue città sono abbattute dinanzi all’Eterno, dinanzi all’ardente sua ira.
Jeremiah 4:27 For this is what the Lord has said: All the land will become a waste; I will make destruction complete.	Geremia 4:27 Poiché così parla l’Eterno: Tutto il paese sarà desolato, ma io non lo finirò del tutto.
Jeremiah 4:28 The earth will be weeping for this, and the heavens on high will be black: because I have said it, and I will not go back from it; it is my purpose, and it will not be changed.	Geremia 4:28 A motivo di questo, la terra fa cordoglio, e i cieli di sopra s’oscurano; perché io l’ho detto, l’ho stabilito, e non me ne pento, e non mi ritratterò.
Jeremiah 4:29 All the land is in flight because of the noise of the horsemen and the bowmen; they have taken cover in the woodland and up on the rocks: every town has been given up, not a man is living in them.	Geremia 4:29 Al rumore dei cavalieri e degli arcieri tutte le città sono in fuga; tutti entrano nel folto de’ boschi, montano sulle rocce; tutte le città sono abbandonate, e non v’è più alcun abitante.
Jeremiah 4:30 And you, when you are made waste, what will you do? Though you are clothed in red, though you make yourself beautiful with ornaments of gold, though you make your eyes wide with paint, it is for nothing that you make yourself fair; your lovers have no more desire for you, they have designs on your life.	Geremia 4:30 E tu che stai per esser devastata, che fai? Hai un bel vestirti di scarlatto, un bel metterti i tuoi ornamenti d’oro, un bell’ingrandirti gli occhi col belletto! Invano t’abbellisci; i tuoi amanti ti sprezzano, voglion la tua vita.
Jeremiah 4:31 A voice has come to my ears like the voice of a woman in birth-pains, the pain of one giving birth to her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, fighting for breath, stretching out her hands, saying, Now sorrow is mine! for my strength is gone from me before the takers of life.	Geremia 4:31 Poiché io odo de’ gridi come di donna ch’è nei dolori; un’angoscia come quella di donna nel suo primo parto; è la voce della figliuola di Sion, che sospira ansimando e stende le mani: "Ahi me lassa! che l’anima mia vien meno dinanzi agli uccisori".
