Isaiah 37:1 And on hearing it Hezekiah took off his robe and put on haircloth and went into the house of the Lord.	Isaia 37:1 Quando il re Ezechia ebbe udito questo, si stracciò le vesti, si coprì di un sacco, ed entrò nella casa dell’Eterno.
Isaiah 37:2 And he sent Eliakim, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and the chief priests, dressed in haircloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.	Isaia 37:2 E mandò Eliakim, prefetto del palazzo, Scebna, il segretario, e i più anziani dei sacerdoti, coperti dei sacchi, al profeta Isaia, figliuolo di Amots, i quali gli dissero:
Isaiah 37:3 And they said to him, Hezekiah says, This day is a day of trouble and punishment and shame: for the children are ready to come to birth, but there is no strength to give birth to them.	Isaia 37:3 "Così parla Ezechia: Questo giorno è giorno d’angoscia, di castigo e d’onta; poiché i figliuoli sono giunti al punto d’uscir dal seno materno, e manca la forza per partorire.
Isaiah 37:4 It may be that the Lord your God will give ear to the words of the Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria, his master, has sent to say evil things against the living God, and will make his words come to nothing: so make your prayer for the rest of the people.	Isaia 37:4 Forse, l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ha udite le parole di Rabshake, il quale il re d’Assiria, suo signore, ha mandato a oltraggiare l’Iddio vivente; e forse l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, punirà le parole che ha udite. Fa’ dunque salire a Dio una preghiera per il residuo del popolo che sussiste ancora".
Isaiah 37:5 So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.	Isaia 37:5 I servi del re Ezechia si recaron dunque da Isaia.
Isaiah 37:6 And Isaiah said to them, This is what you are to say to your master: The Lord says, Be not troubled by the words which the servants of the king of Assyria have said against me in your hearing.	Isaia 37:6 E Isaia disse loro: "Dite al vostro signore: Così parla l’Eterno: Non temere per le parole che hai udite, con le quali i servi del re d’Assiria m’hanno oltraggiato.
Isaiah 37:7 See, I will put a spirit into him, and bad news will come to his ears, and he will go back to his land; and there I will have him put to death.	Isaia 37:7 Ecco, io stesso metterò in lui un tale spirito che, all’udire una certa notizia, egli tornerà nel suo paese; e io lo farò cader di spada nel suo paese".
Isaiah 37:8 So the Rab-shakeh went back, and when he got there the king of Assyria was making war against Libnah: for it had come to his ears that the king of Assyria had gone away from Lachish.	Isaia 37:8 Or Rabshake se ne tornò, e trovò il re d’Assiria che assediava Libna; poiché avea saputo che il suo signore era partito da Lakis.
Isaiah 37:9 And when news came to him that Tirhakah, king of Ethiopia, had made an attack on him, ... And he sent representatives to Hezekiah, king of Judah, saying,	Isaia 37:9 Allora il re d’Assiria ricevette questa notizia, concernente Tirhaka, re d’Etiopia: "Egli s’è messo in marcia per farti guerra". E com’ebbe udito questo, inviò de’ messi ad Ezechia, con questo messaggio:
Isaiah 37:10 This is what you are to say to Hezekiah, king of Judah: Let not your God, in whom is your faith, give you a false hope, saying, Jerusalem will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria.	Isaia 37:10 "Dite così a Ezechia, re di Giuda: il tuo Dio, nel quale confidi, non t’inganni dicendo: Gerusalemme non sarà data nelle mani del re d’Assiria.
Isaiah 37:11 No doubt the story has come to your ears of what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, putting them to the curse: and will you be kept safe from their fate?	Isaia 37:11 Ecco, tu hai udito quello che i re d’Assiria hanno fatto a tutti gli altri paesi, votandoli allo sterminio; e tu ne scamperesti?
Isaiah 37:12 Did the gods of the nations keep safe those on whom my fathers sent destruction, Gozan and Haran and Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?	Isaia 37:12 Gli dèi delle nazioni che i miei padri distrussero, gli dèi di Gozan, di Charan, di Retsef, e de’ figliuoli di Eden che sono a Telassar, valsero essi a liberarle?
Isaiah 37:13 Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the town of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivva?	Isaia 37:13 Dove sono il re di Hamath, il re d’Arpad, e il re della città di Sefarvaim, e quelli di Hena e d’Ivva?"
Isaiah 37:14 And Hezekiah took the letter from the hands of those who had come with it; and after reading it, Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, opening the letter there before the Lord,	Isaia 37:14 Ezechia presa la lettera dalla mani de’ messi, e la lesse; poi salì dinanzi alla casa dell’Eterno, e la spiegò dinanzi all’Eterno.
Isaiah 37:15 And he made prayer to the Lord, saying,	Isaia 37:15 Ed Ezechia pregò l’Eterno, dicendo:
Isaiah 37:16 O Lord of armies, the God of Israel, seated between the winged ones, you only are the God of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.	Isaia 37:16 "O Eterno degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele, che siedi sopra i cherubini! Tu solo sei l’Iddio di tutti i regni della terra; tu hai fatto il cielo e la terra.
Isaiah 37:17 Let your ear be turned to us, O Lord; let your eyes be open, O Lord, and see: take note of all the words of Sennacherib who has sent men to say evil against the living God.	Isaia 37:17 O Eterno, inclina il tuo orecchio, ed ascolta! O Eterno, apri i tuoi occhi, e vedi! Ascolta tutte le parole che Sennacherib ha mandate a dire per oltraggiare l’Iddio vivente!
Isaiah 37:18 Truly, O Lord, the kings of Assyria have made waste all the nations and their lands,	Isaia 37:18 E’ vero, o Eterno; i re d’Assiria hanno devastato tutte quelle nazioni e le loro terre,
Isaiah 37:19 And have given their gods to the fire: for they were no gods, but wood and stone, the work of men's hands; so they have given them to destruction.	Isaia 37:19 e hanno date alle fiamme i loro dèi; perché quelli non erano dèi; ma erano opera di man d’uomo, legno e pietra, e li hanno distrutti.
Isaiah 37:20 But now, O Lord our God, give us salvation from his hand, so that it may be clear to all the kingdoms of the earth that you, and you only, are the Lord.	Isaia 37:20 Ma ora, o Eterno, o Dio nostro, liberaci dalle mani di Sennacherib, affinché tutti i regni della terra conoscano che tu solo sei l’Eterno!"
Isaiah 37:21 Then Isaiah, the son of Amoz, sent to Hezekiah, saying, The Lord, the God of Israel, says, The prayer you have made to me against Sennacherib, king of Assyria, has come to my ears.	Isaia 37:21 Allora Isaia, figliuolo di Amots, mandò a dire ad Ezechia: "Così dice l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele: La preghiera che tu m’hai rivolta riguardo a Sennacherib, re d’Assiria, io l’ho udita;
Isaiah 37:22 This is the word which the Lord has said about him: In the eyes of the virgin daughter of Zion you are shamed and laughed at; the daughter of Jerusalem has made sport of you.	Isaia 37:22 e questa è la parola che l’Eterno ha pronunziata contro di lui: La vergine, figliuola di Sion, ti disprezza e si fa beffe di te; la figliuola di Gerusalemme scuote la testa dietro a te.
Isaiah 37:23 Against whom have you said evil and bitter things? and against whom has your voice been loud and your eyes lifted up? even against the Holy One of Israel.	Isaia 37:23 Chi hai tu insultato e oltraggiato? Contro di chi tu hai alzata la voce e levati in alto gli occhi tuoi? Contro il Santo d’Israele.
Isaiah 37:24 You have sent your servants with evil words against the Lord, and have said, With all my war-carriages I have come up to the top of the mountains, to the inmost parts of Lebanon; and its tall cedars will be cut down, and the best trees of its woods: I will come up into his highest places, into his thick woods.	Isaia 37:24 Per mezzo dei tuoi servi tu hai insultato il Signore, e hai detto: "Con la moltitudine de’ miei carri io son salito in vetta ai monti, nei recessi del Libano; io taglierò i suoi cedri più alti, i suoi cipressi più belli; io giungerò alla più alta sua cima, alla sua foresta più magnifica.
Isaiah 37:25 I have made water-holes and taken their waters, and with my foot I have made all the rivers of Egypt dry.	Isaia 37:25 Io ho scavato, e bevuto dell’acqua; con la pianta dei mie piedi prosciugherò tutti i fiumi d’Egitto".
Isaiah 37:26 Has it not come to your ears how I did it long before, purposing it in times long past? Now I have given effect to my design, so that by you strong towns might be turned into masses of broken walls.	Isaia 37:26 Non hai tu udito? Già da lungo tempo io ho preparato queste cose, da tempi antichi ne ho formato il disegno. Ed ora le faccio accadere, e tu sei là per ridurre città forti in monti di rovine.
Isaiah 37:27 This is why their townsmen had no power, they were broken and put to shame; they were like the grass of the field, or a green plant; like the grass on the house-tops, which a cold wind makes waste.	Isaia 37:27 I loro abitanti, ridotti all’impotenza, sono smarriti e confusi; sono come l’erba de’ campi, come la tenera verdura, come l’erba dei tetti, come grano riarso prima di spigare.
Isaiah 37:28 But I have knowledge of your getting up and your resting, of your going out and your coming in.	Isaia 37:28 Ma io so quando ti siedi, quand’esci, quand’entri, e quando t’infuri contro di me.
Isaiah 37:29 Because your wrath against me and your pride have come to my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my cord in your lips, and I will make you go back by the way you came.	Isaia 37:29 E per codesto tuo infuriare contro di me, e perché la tua insolenza è giunta ai miei orecchi, io ti metterò nel naso il mio anello, e fra le lebbra il mio freno, e ti farò tornare per la via donde sei venuto.
Isaiah 37:30 And this will be the sign to you: you will get your food this year from what comes up of itself, and in the second year from the produce of the same; and in the third year you will put in your seed, and get in the grain, and make vine-gardens, and take of their fruit.	Isaia 37:30 E questo, o Ezechia, te ne sarà il segno: quest’anno si mangerà il frutto del grano caduto; il secondo anno, quello che cresce da sé; ma il terzo anno seminerete, mieterete, pianterete vigne, e ne mangerete il frutto.
Isaiah 37:31 And those of Judah who are still living will again take root in the earth, and give fruit.	Isaia 37:31 E il residuo della casa di Giuda che sarà scampato metterà ancora radici in basso, e porterà frutto in alto.
Isaiah 37:32 For from Jerusalem those who have been kept safe will go out, and those who are still living will go out of Mount Zion: by the fixed purpose of the Lord of armies this will be done.	Isaia 37:32 Poiché da Gerusalemme uscirà un residuo, e dal monte di Sion usciranno degli scampati. Lo zelo dell’Eterno degli eserciti farà questo.
Isaiah 37:33 For this cause the Lord says about the king of Assyria, He will not come into this town, or send an arrow against it; he will not come before it with arms, or put up an earthwork against it.	Isaia 37:33 Perciò così parla l’Eterno circa il re d’Assiria: Egli non entrerà in questa città, e non vi tirerà dentro alcuna freccia; non verrà davanti ad essa con scudi, e non eleverà trincee contro di lei.
Isaiah 37:34 By the way he came he will go back, and he will not get into this town.	Isaia 37:34 Ei se ne tornerà per la via donde è venuto, e non entrerà in questa città, dice l’Eterno.
Isaiah 37:35 For I will keep this town safe, for my honour, and for the honour of my servant David.	Isaia 37:35 Poiché io proteggerò questa città per salvarla, per amor di me stesso e per amor di Davide, mio servo.
Isaiah 37:36 And the angel of the Lord went out and put to death in the army of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand men: and when the people got up early in the morning, there was nothing to be seen but dead bodies.	Isaia 37:36 E l’angelo dell’Eterno uscì e colpì, nel campo degli Assiri, cento ottantacinquemila uomini; e quando la gente si levò la mattina, ecco ch’eran tanti cadaveri.
Isaiah 37:37 Sennacherib, king of Assyria, went back to his place at Nineveh.	Isaia 37:37 Allora Sennacherib, re d’Assiria, levò il suo campo, partì e tornò a Ninive, dove rimase.
Isaiah 37:38 And it came about, when he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer put him to death with the sword, and they went in flight into the land of Ararat. And Esar-haddon, his son, became king in his place.	Isaia 37:38 E avvenne che, com’egli stava prostrato nella casa di Nisroc, suo dio, Adrammelec e Saretser, suoi figliuoli, l’uccisero a colpi di spada, e si rifugiarono nel paese d’Ararat. Ed Esarhaddon, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.
