箴言 16
|
| The designs of the heart are man's, but the answer of the tongue comes from the Lord. | 心 中 的 謀 算 在 乎 人 ． 舌 頭 的 應 對 、 由 於 耶 和 華 。 |
| All a man's ways are clean to himself; but the Lord puts men's spirits into his scales. | 人 一 切 所 行 的 、 在 自 己 眼 中 看 為 清 潔 ． 惟 有 耶 和 華 衡 量 人 心 。 |
| Put your works into the hands of the Lord, and your purposes will be made certain. | 你 所 作 的 、 要 交 託 耶 和 華 、 你 所 謀 的 、 就 必 成 立 。 |
| The Lord has made everything for his purpose, even the sinner for the day of evil. | 耶 和 華 所 造 的 、 各 適 其 用 ． 就 是 惡 人 、 也 為 禍 患 的 日 子 所 造 。 |
| Everyone who has pride in his heart is disgusting to the Lord: he will certainly not go free from punishment. | 凡 心 裡 驕 傲 的 、 為 耶 和 華 所 憎 惡 ． 雖 然 連 手 、 他 必 不 免 受 罰 。 |
| By mercy and good faith evil-doing is taken away: and by the fear of the Lord men are turned away from evil. | 因 憐 憫 誠 實 、 罪 孽 得 贖 ． 敬 畏 耶 和 華 的 、 遠 離 惡 事 。 |
| When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his haters be at peace with him. | 人 所 行 的 若 蒙 耶 和 華 喜 悅 、 耶 和 華 也 使 他 的 仇 敵 與 他 和 好 。 |
| Better is a little with righteousness, than great wealth with wrongdoing. | 多 有 財 利 、 行 事 不 義 、 不 如 少 有 財 利 、 行 事 公 義 。 |
| A man may make designs for his way, but the Lord is the guide of his steps. | 人 心 籌 算 自 己 的 道 路 ． 惟 耶 和 華 指 引 他 的 腳 步 。 |
| Decision is in the lips of the king: his mouth will not go wrong in judging. | 王 的 嘴 中 有 神 語 ． 審 判 之 時 、 他 的 口 、 必 不 差 錯 。 |
| True measures and scales are the Lord's: all the weights of the bag are his work. | 公 道 的 天 平 和 秤 、 都 屬 耶 和 華 ． 囊 中 一 切 法 碼 、 都 為 他 所 定 。 |
| Evil-doing is disgusting to kings: for the seat of the ruler is based on righteousness. | 作 惡 為 王 所 憎 惡 ． 因 國 位 是 靠 公 義 堅 立 。 |
| Lips of righteousness are the delight of kings; and he who says what is upright is dear to him. | 公 義 的 嘴 、 為 王 所 喜 悅 ． 說 正 直 話 的 、 為 王 所 喜 愛 。 |
| The wrath of the king is like those who give news of death, but a wise man will put peace in place of it. | 王 的 震 怒 、 如 殺 人 的 使 者 ． 但 智 慧 人 能 止 息 王 怒 。 |
| In the light of the king's face there is life; and his approval is like a cloud of spring rain. | 王 的 臉 光 、 使 人 有 生 命 ． 王 的 恩 典 、 好 像 春 雲 時 雨 。 |
| How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! and to get knowledge is more to be desired than silver. | 得 智 慧 勝 似 得 金 子 ． 選 聰 明 強 如 選 銀 子 。 |
| The highway of the upright is to be turned away from evil: he who takes care of his way will keep his soul. | 正 直 人 的 道 、 是 遠 離 惡 事 ． 謹 守 己 路 的 、 是 保 全 性 命 。 |
| Pride goes before destruction, and a stiff spirit before a fall. | 驕 傲 在 敗 壞 以 先 ． 狂 心 在 跌 倒 之 前 。 |
| Better it is to have a gentle spirit with the poor, than to take part in the rewards of war with men of pride. | 心 裡 謙 卑 與 窮 乏 人 來 往 、 強 如 將 擄 物 與 驕 傲 人 同 分 。 |
| He who gives attention to the law of right will get good; and whoever puts his faith in the Lord is happy. | 謹 守 訓 言 的 、 必 得 好 處 ． 倚 靠 耶 和 華 的 、 便 為 有 福 。 |
| The wise-hearted will be named men of good sense: and by pleasing words learning is increased. | 心 中 有 智 慧 、 必 稱 為 通 達 人 ． 嘴 中 的 甜 言 、 加 增 人 的 學 問 。 |
| Wisdom is a fountain of life to him who has it; but the punishment of the foolish is their foolish behaviour. | 人 有 智 慧 就 有 生 命 的 泉 源 ． 愚 昧 人 必 被 愚 昧 懲 治 。 |
| The heart of the wise man is the teacher of his mouth, and gives increased learning to his lips. | 智 慧 人 的 心 、 教 訓 他 的 口 、 又 使 他 的 嘴 、 增 長 學 問 。 |
| Pleasing words are like honey, sweet to the soul and new life to the bones. | 良 言 如 同 蜂 房 、 使 心 覺 甘 甜 、 使 骨 得 醫 治 。 |
| There is a way which seems straight before a man, but its end is the ways of death. | 有 一 條 路 、 人 以 為 正 、 至 終 成 為 死 亡 之 路 。 |
| The desire of the working man is working for him, for his need of food is driving him on. | 勞 力 人 的 胃 口 、 使 他 勞 力 、 因 為 他 的 口 腹 催 逼 他 。 |
| A good-for-nothing man is a designer of evil, and in his lips there is a burning fire. | 匪 徒 圖 謀 奸 惡 、 嘴 上 彷 彿 有 燒 焦 的 火 。 |
| A man of twisted purposes is a cause of fighting everywhere: and he who says evil secretly makes trouble between friends. | 乖 僻 人 播 散 分 爭 ． 傳 舌 的 離 間 密 友 。 |
| A violent man puts desire of evil into his neighbour's mind, and makes him go in a way which is not good. | 強 暴 人 誘 惑 鄰 舍 、 領 他 走 不 善 之 道 。 |
| He whose eyes are shut is a man of twisted purposes, and he who keeps his lips shut tight makes evil come about. | 眼 目 緊 合 的 、 圖 謀 乖 僻 、 嘴 唇 緊 閉 的 、 成 就 邪 惡 。 |
| The grey head is a crown of glory, if it is seen in the way of righteousness. | 白 髮 是 榮 耀 的 冠 冕 ． 在 公 義 的 道 上 、 必 能 得 著 。 |
| He who is slow to be angry is better than a man of war, and he who has control over his spirit than he who takes a town. | 不 輕 易 發 怒 的 、 勝 過 勇 士 ． 治 服 己 心 的 、 強 如 取 城 。 |
| A thing may be put to the decision of chance, but it comes about through the Lord. | 籤 放 在 懷 裡 ． 定 事 由 耶 和 華 。 |
