Nehemia 13:1 Und es ward zu der Zeit gelesen das Buch Mose vor den Ohren des Volks und ward gefunden darin geschrieben, daß die Ammoniter und Moabiter sollen nimmermehr in die Gemeinde Gottes kommen,	Nehemiah 13:1 On that day there was a reading from the book of Moses in the hearing of the people; and they saw that it said in the book that no Ammonite or Moabite might ever come into the meeting of God;
Nehemia 13:2 darum daß sie den Kindern Israel nicht entgegenkamen mit Brot und Wasser und dingten sie wider Bileam, daß er sie verfluchen sollte; aber unser Gott wandte den Fluch in einen Segen.	Nehemiah 13:2 Because they did not give the children of Israel bread and water when they came to them, but got Balaam to put a curse on them: though the curse was turned into a blessing by our God.
Nehemia 13:3 Da sie nun dies Gesetz hörten, schieden sie alle Fremdlinge von Israel.	Nehemiah 13:3 So after hearing the law, they took out of Israel all the mixed people.
Nehemia 13:4 Und vor dem hatte der Priester Eljasib, der gesetzt war über die Kammern am Hause unsres Gottes, ein Verwandter des Tobia, demselben eine große Kammer gemacht;	Nehemiah 13:4 Now before this, Eliashib the priest, who had been placed over the rooms of the house of our God, being a friend of Tobiah,
Nehemia 13:5 und dahin hatten sie zuvor gelegt Speisopfer, Weihrauch, Geräte und die Zehnten vom Getreide, Most und Öl, die Gebühr der Leviten, Sänger und Torhüter, dazu die Hebe der Priester.	Nehemiah 13:5 Had made ready for him a great room, where at one time they kept the meal offerings, the perfume, and the vessels and the tenths of the grain and wine and oil which were given by order to the Levites and the music-makers and the door-keepers, and the lifted offerings for the priests.
Nehemia 13:6 Aber bei diesem allem war ich nicht zu Jerusalem; denn im zweiunddreißigsten Jahr Arthahsasthas, des Königs zu Babel, kam ich zum König, und nach etlicher Zeit erwarb ich vom König,	Nehemiah 13:6 But all this time I was not at Jerusalem: for in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes, king of Babylon, I went to the king; and after some days, I got the king to let me go,
Nehemia 13:7 daß ich gen Jerusalem zog. Und ich merkte, daß nicht gut war, was Eljasib an Tobia getan hatte, da er sich eine Kammer machte im Hofe am Hause Gottes;	Nehemiah 13:7 And I came to Jerusalem; and it was clear to me what evil Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in making ready for him a room in the buildings of the house of God.
Nehemia 13:8 und es verdroß mich sehr, und ich warf alle Geräte vom Hause hinaus vor die Kammer	Nehemiah 13:8 And it was evil in my eyes: so I had all Tobiah's things put out of the room.
Nehemia 13:9 und hieß, daß sie die Kammern reinigten; und ich brachte wieder dahin das Gerät des Hauses Gottes, das Speisopfer und den Weihrauch.	Nehemiah 13:9 Then I gave orders, and they made the rooms clean: and I put back in them the vessels of the house of God, with the meal offerings and the perfume.
Nehemia 13:10 Und ich erfuhr, daß der Leviten Teile ihnen nicht gegeben waren, derhalben die Leviten und die Sänger, die das Geschäft des Amts ausrichten sollten, geflohen waren, ein jeglicher zu seinen Acker.	Nehemiah 13:10 And I saw that the Levites had not been given what was needed for their support; so that the Levites and the music-makers, who did the work, had gone away, everyone to his field.
Nehemia 13:11 Da schalt ich die Obersten und sprach: Warum ist das Haus Gottes verlassen? Aber ich versammelte sie und stellte sie an ihre Stätte.	Nehemiah 13:11 Then I made protests to the chiefs, and said, Why has the house of God been given up? And I got them together and put them in their places.
Nehemia 13:12 Da brachte ganz Juda den Zehnten vom Getreide, Most und Öl zum Vorrat.	Nehemiah 13:12 Then all Judah came with the tenth part of the grain and wine and oil and put it into the store-houses.
Nehemia 13:13 Und ich setzte über die Vorräte Selemja, den Priester, und Zadok, den Schriftgelehrten, und aus den Leviten Pedaja und ihnen zur Hand Hanan, den Sohn Sakkurs, des Sohnes Matthanjas; denn sie wurden für treu gehalten, und ihnen ward befohlen, ihren Brüdern auszuteilen.	Nehemiah 13:13 And I made controllers over the store-houses, Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah: and with them was Hanan, the son of Zaccur the son of Mattaniah: they were taken to be true men and their business was the distribution of these things to their brothers.
Nehemia 13:14 Gedenke, mein Gott, mir daran und tilge nicht aus meine Barmherzigkeit, die ich an meines Gottes Hause und an seinem Dienst getan habe!	Nehemiah 13:14 Keep me in mind, O my God, in connection with this, and do not let the good which I have done for the house of my God and its worship go from your memory completely.
Nehemia 13:15 Zur selben Zeit sah ich in Juda Kelter treten am Sabbat und Garben hereinbringen und Esel, beladen mit Wein, Trauben, Feigen und allerlei Last, gen Jerusalem bringen am Sabbattag. Und ich zeugte wider sie des Tages, da sie die Nahrung verkauften.	Nehemiah 13:15 In those days, I saw in Judah some who were crushing grapes on the Sabbath, and getting in grain and putting it on asses; as well as wine and grapes and figs and all sorts of goods which they took into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day: and I gave witness against them on the day when they were marketing food.
Nehemia 13:16 Es wohnten auch Tyrer darin; die brachten Fische und allerlei Ware und verkauften's am Sabbat den Kinder Juda's in Jerusalem.	Nehemiah 13:16 And there were men of Tyre there, who came with fish and all sorts of goods, trading with the children of Judah and in Jerusalem on the Sabbath.
Nehemia 13:17 Da schalt ich die Obersten in Juda und sprach zu ihnen: Was ist das für ein böses Ding, das ihr tut, und brecht den Sabbattag?	Nehemiah 13:17 Then I made protests to the chiefs of Judah, and said to them, What is this evil which you are doing, not keeping the Sabbath day holy?
Nehemia 13:18 Taten nicht eure Väter also, und unser Gott führte all dies Unglück über uns und über diese Stadt? Und ihr macht des Zorns über Israel noch mehr, daß ihr den Sabbat brecht!	Nehemiah 13:18 Did not your fathers do the same, and did not our God send all this evil on us and on this town? but you are causing more wrath to come on Israel by not keeping the Sabbath holy.
Nehemia 13:19 Und da es in den Toren zu Jerusalem dunkel ward vor dem Sabbat, hieß ich die Türen zuschließen und befahl, man sollte sie nicht auftun bis nach dem Sabbat. Und ich bestellte meiner Leute etliche an die Tore, daß man keine Last hereinbrächte am Sabbattage.	Nehemiah 13:19 And so, when the streets of Jerusalem were getting dark before the Sabbath, I gave orders for the doors to be shut and not to be open again till after the Sabbath: and I put some of my servants by the door so that nothing might be taken in on the Sabbath day.
Nehemia 13:20 Da blieben die Krämer und Verkäufer mit allerlei Ware über Nacht draußen vor Jerusalem, ein Mal oder zwei.	Nehemiah 13:20 So the traders in all sorts of goods took their night's rest outside Jerusalem once or twice.
Nehemia 13:21 Da zeugte ich wider sie und sprach zu ihnen: Warum bleibt ihr über Nacht um die Mauer? Werdet ihr's noch einmal tun, so will ich Hand an euch legen. Von der Zeit an kamen sie des Sabbats nicht.	Nehemiah 13:21 Then I gave witness against them and said, Why are you waiting all night by the wall? if you do so again I will have you taken prisoners. From that time they did not come again on the Sabbath.
Nehemia 13:22 Und ich sprach zu den Leviten, daß sie sich reinigten und kämen und hüteten die Tore, zu heiligen den Sabbattag. Mein Gott, gedenke mir des auch und schone mein nach deiner großen Barmherzigkeit.	Nehemiah 13:22 And I gave the Levites orders to make themselves clean and come and keep the doors and make the Sabbath holy. Keep this in mind to my credit, O my God, and have mercy on me, for great is your mercy.
Nehemia 13:23 Ich sah auch zu der Zeit Juden, die Weiber genommen hatten von Asdod, Ammon und Moab.	Nehemiah 13:23 And in those days I saw the Jews who were married to women of Ashdod and Ammon and Moab:
Nehemia 13:24 Und ihre Kinder redeten die Hälfte asdodisch und konnten nicht jüdisch reden, sondern nach der Sprache eines jeglichen Volks.	Nehemiah 13:24 And their children were talking half in the language of Ashdod; they had no knowledge of the Jews' language, but made use of the language of the two peoples.
Nehemia 13:25 Und ich schalt sie und fluchte ihnen und schlug etliche Männer und raufte sie und nahm einen Eid von ihnen bei Gott: Ihr sollt eure Töchter nicht geben ihren Söhnen noch ihre Töchter nehmen euren Söhnen oder euch selbst.	Nehemiah 13:25 And I took up the cause against them, cursing them and giving blows to some of them and pulling out their hair; and I made them take an oath by God, saying, You are not to give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.
Nehemia 13:26 Hat nicht Salomo, der König Israels, daran gesündigt? Und war doch in vielen Heiden kein König ihm gleich, und er war seinem Gott lieb, und Gott setzte ihn zum König über ganz Israel; dennoch machten ihn die ausländischen Weiber sündigen.	Nehemiah 13:26 Was it not in these things that Solomon, king of Israel, did wrong? among a number of nations there was no king like him, and he was dear to his God, and God made him king over all Israel: but even he was made to do evil by strange women.
Nehemia 13:27 Und von euch muß man das hören, daß ihr solches Übel tut, euch an unserm Gott zu vergreifen und ausländische Weiber zu nehmen?	Nehemiah 13:27 Are we then without protest to let you do all this great evil, sinning against our God by taking strange women for your wives?
Nehemia 13:28 Und einer aus den Kindern Jojadas, des Sohnes Eljasibs, des Hohenpriesters, war Saneballats, des Horoniters, Eidam; aber ich jagte ihn von mir.	Nehemiah 13:28 And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib, the chief priest, was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite: so I sent him away from me.
Nehemia 13:29 Gedenke an sie, mein Gott, daß sie das Priestertum befleckt haben und den Bund des Priestertums und der Leviten!	Nehemiah 13:29 Keep them in mind, O my God, because they have put shame on the priests' name and on the agreement of the priests and the Levites.
Nehemia 13:30 Also reinigte ich sie von allem Ausländischen und bestellte den Dienst der Priester und Leviten, einen jeglichen zu seinem Geschäft,	Nehemiah 13:30 So I made them clean from all strange people, and had regular watches fixed for the priests and for the Levites, everyone in his work;
Nehemia 13:31 und für die Opfergaben an Holz zu bestimmten Zeiten und für die Erstlinge. Gedenke meiner, mein Gott, im Besten!	Nehemiah 13:31 And for the wood offering, at fixed times, and for the first fruits. Keep me in mind, O my God, for good.
