Acts 23:1 And Paul, looking stedfastly on the council, said, Brethren, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this day.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:1 E Paolo, fissati gli occhi nel Sinedrio, disse: Fratelli, fino a questo giorno, mi son condotto dinanzi a Dio in tutta buona coscienza.
Acts 23:2 And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:2 E il sommo sacerdote Anania comandò a coloro ch’eran presso a lui di percuoterlo sulla bocca.
Acts 23:3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: and sittest thou to judge me according to the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?	Atti degli Apostoli 23:3 Allora Paolo gli disse: Iddio percoterà te, parete scialbata; tu siedi per giudicarmi secondo la legge, e violando la legge comandi che io sia percosso?
Acts 23:4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?	Atti degli Apostoli 23:4 E coloro ch’eran quivi presenti, dissero: Ingiurii tu il sommo sacerdote di Dio?
Acts 23:5 And Paul said, I knew not, brethren, that he was high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of a ruler of thy people.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:5 E Paolo disse: Fratelli, io non sapevo che fosse sommo sacerdote; perché sta scritto: "Non dirai male del principe del tuo popolo".
Acts 23:6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Brethren, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees: touching the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:6 Or Paolo, sapendo che una parte eran Sadducei e l’altra Farisei, esclamò nel Sinedrio: Fratelli, io son Fariseo, figliuol di Farisei; ed è a motivo della speranza e della risurrezione dei morti, che son chiamato in giudizio.
Acts 23:7 And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and Sadducees; and the assembly was divided.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:7 E com’ebbe detto questo, nacque contesa tra i Farisei e i Sadducei, e l’assemblea fu divisa.
Acts 23:8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:8 Poiché i Sadducei dicono che non v’è risurrezione, né angelo, né spirito; mentre i Farisei affermano l’una e l’altra cosa.
Acts 23:9 And there arose a great clamor: and some of the scribes of the Pharisees part stood up, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: and what if a spirit hath spoken to him, or an angel?	Atti degli Apostoli 23:9 E si fece un gridar grande; e alcuni degli scribi del partito de’ Farisei, levatisi, cominciarono a disputare, dicendo: Noi non troviamo male alcuno in quest’uomo; e se gli avesse parlato uno spirito o un angelo?
Acts 23:10 And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them, and bring him into the castle.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:10 E facendosi forte la contesa, il tribuno, temendo che Paolo non fosse da loro fatto a pezzi, comandò ai soldati di scendere giù, e di portarlo via dal mezzo di loro, e di menarlo nella fortezza.
Acts 23:11 And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer: for as thou hast testified concerning me at Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:11 E la notte seguente il Signore si presentò a Paolo, e gli disse: Sta’ di buon cuore; perché come hai reso testimonianza di me a Gerusalemme, così bisogna che tu la renda anche a Roma.
Acts 23:12 And when it was day, the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:12 E quando fu giorno, i Giudei s’adunarono, e con imprecazioni contro sé stessi fecer voto di non mangiare né bere finché non avessero ucciso Paolo.
Acts 23:13 And they were more than forty that made this conspiracy.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:13 Or coloro che avean fatta questa congiura eran più di quaranta.
Acts 23:14 And they came to the chief priests and the elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:14 E vennero ai capi sacerdoti e agli anziani, e dissero: Noi abbiam fatto voto con imprecazione contro noi stessi, di non mangiare cosa alcuna, finché non abbiam ucciso Paolo.
Acts 23:15 Now therefore do ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you, as though ye would judge of his case more exactly: and we, before he comes near, are ready to slay him.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:15 Or dunque voi col Sinedrio presentatevi al tribuno per chiedergli di menarlo giù da voi, come se voleste conoscer più esattamente il fatto suo; e noi, innanzi ch’ei giunga, siam pronti ad ucciderlo.
Acts 23:16 But Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, and he came and entered into the castle and told Paul.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:16 Ma il figliuolo della sorella di Paolo, udite queste insidie, venne; ed entrato nella fortezza, riferì la cosa a Paolo.
Acts 23:17 And Paul called unto him one of the centurions, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain; for he hath something to tell him.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:17 E Paolo, chiamato a sé uno dei centurioni, disse: Mena questo giovane al tribuno, perché ha qualcosa da riferirgli.
Acts 23:18 So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and saith, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and asked me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say to thee.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:18 Egli dunque, presolo, lo menò al tribuno, e disse: Paolo, il prigione, mi ha chiamato e m’ha pregato che ti meni questo giovane, il quale ha qualcosa da dirti.
Acts 23:19 And the chief captain took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, What is it that thou hast to tell me?	Atti degli Apostoli 23:19 E il tribuno, presolo per la mano e ritiratosi in disparte gli domando: Che cos’hai da riferirmi?
Acts 23:20 And he said, The Jews have agreed to ask thee to bring down Paul tomorrow unto the council, as though thou wouldest inquire somewhat more exactly concerning him.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:20 Ed egli rispose: I Giudei si son messi d’accordo per pregarti che domani tu meni giù Paolo nel Sinedrio, come se volessero informarsi più appieno del fatto suo;
Acts 23:21 Do not thou therefore yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, who have bound themselves under a curse, neither to eat nor to drink till they have slain him: and now are they ready, looking for the promise from thee.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:21 ma tu non dar loro retta, perché più di quaranta uomini di loro gli tendono insidie e con imprecazioni contro sé stessi han fatto voto di non mangiare né bere, finché non l’abbiano ucciso; ed ora son pronti, aspettando la tua promessa.
Acts 23:22 So the chief captain let the young man go, charging him, Tell no man that thou hast signified these things to me.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:22 Il tribuno dunque licenziò il giovane, ordinandogli di non palesare ad alcuno che gli avesse fatto saper queste cose.
Acts 23:23 And he called unto him two of the centurions, and said, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night:	Atti degli Apostoli 23:23 E chiamati due de’ centurioni, disse loro: Tenete pronti fino dalla terza ora della notte duecento soldati, settanta cavalieri e duecento lancieri, per andar fino a Cesarea;
Acts 23:24 and [he bade them] provide beasts, that they might set Paul thereon, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:24 e abbiate pronte delle cavalcature per farvi montar su Paolo e condurlo sano e salvo al governatore Felice.
Acts 23:25 And he wrote a letter after this form:	Atti degli Apostoli 23:25 E scrisse una lettera del seguente tenore:
Acts 23:26 Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix, greeting.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:26 Claudio Lisia, all’eccellentissimo governatore Felice, salute.
Acts 23:27 This man was seized by the Jews, and was about to be slain of them, when I came upon them with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:27 Quest’uomo era stato preso dai Giudei, ed era sul punto d’esser da loro ucciso, quand’io son sopraggiunto coi soldati e l’ho sottratto dalle loro mani, avendo inteso che era Romano.
Acts 23:28 And desiring to know the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him down unto their council:	Atti degli Apostoli 23:28 E volendo sapere di che l’accusavano, l’ho menato nel loro Sinedrio.
Acts 23:29 whom I found to be accused about questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:29 E ho trovato che era accusato intorno a questioni della loro legge, ma che non era incolpato di nulla che fosse degno di morte o di prigione.
Acts 23:30 And when it was shown to me that there would be a plot against the man, I sent him to thee forthwith, charging his accusers also to speak against him before thee.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:30 Essendomi però stato riferito che si tenderebbe un agguato contro quest’uomo, l’ho subito mandato a te, ordinando anche ai suoi accusatori di dir davanti a te quello che hanno contro di lui.
Acts 23:31 So the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:31 I soldati dunque, secondo ch’era loro stato ordinato, presero Paolo e lo condussero di notte ad Antipatrìda.
Acts 23:32 But on the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle:	Atti degli Apostoli 23:32 E il giorno seguente, lasciati partire i cavalieri con lui, tornarono alla fortezza.
Acts 23:33 and they, when they came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, presented Paul also before him.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:33 E quelli, giunti a Cesarea e consegnata la lettera al governatore, gli presentarono anche Paolo.
Acts 23:34 And when he had read it, he asked of what province he was; and when he understood that he was of Cilicia,	Atti degli Apostoli 23:34 Ed egli avendo letta la lettera e domandato a Paolo di qual provincia fosse, e inteso che era di Cilicia, gli disse:
Acts 23:35 I will hear thee fully, said he, when thine accusers also are come: and he commanded him to be kept in Herod's palace.	Atti degli Apostoli 23:35 Io ti udirò meglio quando saranno arrivati anche i tuoi accusatori. E comandò che fosse custodito nel palazzo d’Erode.
