Proverbs 25:1 These also are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.	Die Spruche 25:1 Dies sind auch Sprüche Salomos, die hinzugesetzt haben die Männer Hiskias, des Königs in Juda.
Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.	Die Spruche 25:2 Es ist Gottes Ehre, eine Sache verbergen; aber der Könige Ehre ist's, eine Sache zu erforschen.
Proverbs 25:3 As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth, So the heart of kings is unsearchable.	Die Spruche 25:3 Der Himmel ist hoch und die Erde tief; aber der Könige Herz ist unerforschlich.
Proverbs 25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, And there cometh forth a vessel for the refiner:	Die Spruche 25:4 Man tue den Schaum vom Silber, so wird ein reines Gefäß daraus.
Proverbs 25:5 Take away the wicked [from] before the king, And his throne shall be established in righteousness.	Die Spruche 25:5 Man tue den Gottlosen hinweg vor dem König, so wird sein Thron mit Gerechtigkeit befestigt.
Proverbs 25:6 Put not thyself forward in the presence of the king, And stand not in the place of great men:	Die Spruche 25:6 Prange nicht vor dem König und tritt nicht an den Ort der Großen.
Proverbs 25:7 For better is it that it be said unto thee, Come up hither, Than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom thine eyes have seen.	Die Spruche 25:7 Denn es ist dir besser, daß man zu dir sage: Tritt hier herauf! als daß du vor dem Fürsten erniedrigt wirst, daß es deine Augen sehen müssen.
Proverbs 25:8 Go not forth hastily to strive, Lest [thou know not] what to do in the end thereof, When thy neighbor hath put thee to shame.	Die Spruche 25:8 Fahre nicht bald heraus, zu zanken; denn was willst du hernach machen, wenn dich dein Nächster beschämt hat?
Proverbs 25:9 Debate thy cause with thy neighbor [himself], And disclose not the secret of another;	Die Spruche 25:9 Führe deine Sache mit deinem Nächsten, und offenbare nicht eines andern Heimlichkeit,
Proverbs 25:10 Lest he that heareth it revile thee, And thine infamy turn not away.	Die Spruche 25:10 auf daß nicht übel von dir spreche, der es hört, und dein böses Gerücht nimmer ablasse.
Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken Is [like] apples of gold in network of silver.	Die Spruche 25:11 Ein Wort geredet zu seiner Zeit, ist wie goldene Äpfel auf silbernen Schalen.
Proverbs 25:12 [As] an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, [So is] a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.	Die Spruche 25:12 Wer einem Weisen gehorcht, der ihn straft, das ist wie ein goldenes Stirnband und goldenes Halsband.
Proverbs 25:13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, [So is] a faithful messenger to them that send him; For he refresheth the soul of his masters.	Die Spruche 25:13 Wie die Kühle des Schnees zur Zeit der Ernte, so ist ein treuer Bote dem, der ihn gesandt hat, und labt seines Herrn Seele.
Proverbs 25:14 [As] clouds and wind without rain, [So is] he that boasteth himself of his gifts falsely.	Die Spruche 25:14 Wer viel verspricht und hält nicht, der ist wie Wolken und Wind ohne Regen.
Proverbs 25:15 By long forbearing is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaketh the bone.	Die Spruche 25:15 Durch Geduld wird ein Fürst versöhnt, und eine linde Zunge bricht die Härtigkeit.
Proverbs 25:16 Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, Lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.	Die Spruche 25:16 Findest du Honig, so iß davon, so viel dir genug ist, daß du nicht zu satt wirst und speiest ihn aus.
Proverbs 25:17 Let thy foot be seldom in thy neighbor's house, Lest he be weary of thee, and hate thee.	Die Spruche 25:17 Entzieh deinen Fuß vom Hause deines Nächsten; er möchte dein überdrüssig und dir gram werden.
Proverbs 25:18 A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor Is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.	Die Spruche 25:18 Wer wider seinen Nächsten falsch Zeugnis redet, der ist ein Spieß, Schwert und scharfer Pfeil.
Proverbs 25:19 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble Is [like] a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.	Die Spruche 25:19 Die Hoffnung auf einen Treulosen zur Zeit der Not ist wie ein fauler Zahn und gleitender Fuß.
Proverbs 25:20 [As] one that taketh off a garment in cold weather, [and as] vinegar upon soda, So is he that singeth songs to a heavy heart.	Die Spruche 25:20 Wer einem betrübten Herzen Lieder singt, das ist, wie wenn einer das Kleid ablegt am kalten Tage, und wie Essig auf der Kreide.
Proverbs 25:21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:	Die Spruche 25:21 Hungert deinen Feind, so speise ihn mit Brot; dürstet ihn, so tränke ihn mit Wasser.
Proverbs 25:22 For thou wilt heap coals of fire upon his head, And Jehovah will reward thee.	Die Spruche 25:22 Denn du wirst feurige Kohlen auf sein Haupt häufen, und der HERR wird dir's vergelten.
Proverbs 25:23 The north wind bringeth forth rain: So doth a backbiting tongue an angry countenance.	Die Spruche 25:23 Der Nordwind bringt Ungewitter, und die heimliche Zunge macht saures Angesicht.
Proverbs 25:24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.	Die Spruche 25:24 Es ist besser, im Winkel auf dem Dach sitzen denn bei einem zänkischen Weibe in einem Haus beisammen.
Proverbs 25:25 [As] cold waters to a thirsty soul, So is good news from a far country.	Die Spruche 25:25 Eine gute Botschaft aus fernen Landen ist wie kalt Wasser einer durstigen Seele.
Proverbs 25:26 [As] a troubled fountain, and a corrupted spring, [So is] a righteous man that giveth way before the wicked.	Die Spruche 25:26 Ein Gerechter, der vor einem Gottlosen fällt, ist wie ein getrübter Brunnen und eine verderbte Quelle.
Proverbs 25:27 It is not good to eat much honey: So [for men] to search out their own glory is grievous.	Die Spruche 25:27 Wer zuviel Honig ißt, das ist nicht gut; und wer schwere Dinge erforscht, dem wird's zu schwer.
Proverbs 25:28 He whose spirit is without restraint Is [like] a city that is broken down and without walls.	Die Spruche 25:28 Ein Mann, der seinen Geist nicht halten kann, ist wie eine offene Stadt ohne Mauern.
