Jeremías 37:1 Y REINO el rey Sedechîas hijo de Josías, en lugar de Conías hijo de Joacim, al cual Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia había constituído por rey en la tierra de Judá.	Jeremiah 37:1 And Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, became king in place of Coniah, the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, made king in the land of Judah.
Jeremías 37:2 Mas no obedeció él, ni sus siervos, ni el pueblo de la tierra á las palabras de Jehová, que dijo por el profeta Jeremías.	Jeremiah 37:2 But he and his servants and the people of the land did not give ear to the words of the Lord which he said by Jeremiah the prophet.
Jeremías 37:3 Y envió el rey Sedechîas á Jucal hijo de Selemías, y á Sephanías hijo de Maasías sacerdote, para que dijesen al profeta Jeremías: Ruega ahora por nosotros á Jehová nuestro Dios.	Jeremiah 37:3 And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal, the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Make prayer now to the Lord our God for us.
Jeremías 37:4 Y Jeremías entraba y salía en medio del pueblo; porque no lo habían puesto en la casa de la cárcel.	Jeremiah 37:4 (Now Jeremiah was going about among the people, for they had not put him in prison.
Jeremías 37:5 Y como el ejército de Faraón hubo salido de Egipto, y vino la fama de ellos á oídos de los Caldeos que tenían cercada á Jerusalem, partiéronse de Jerusalem.	Jeremiah 37:5 And Pharaoh's army had come out from Egypt: and the Chaldaeans, who were attacking Jerusalem, hearing news of them, went away from Jerusalem.)
Jeremías 37:6 Entonces fué palabra de Jehová á Jeremías profeta, diciendo:	Jeremiah 37:6 Then the word of the Lord came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
Jeremías 37:7 Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel: Diréis así al rey de Judá, que os envió á mí para que me preguntaseis: He aquí que el ejército de Faraón que había salido en vuestro socorro, se volvió á su tierra en Egipto.	Jeremiah 37:7 The Lord, the God of Israel, has said: This is what you are to say to the king of Judah who sent you to get directions from me: See, Pharaoh's army, which has come out to your help, will go back to Egypt, to their land.
Jeremías 37:8 Y tornarán los Caldeos, y combatirán esta ciudad, y la tomarán, y la pondrán á fuego.	Jeremiah 37:8 And the Chaldaeans will come back again and make war against this town and they will take it and put it on fire.
Jeremías 37:9 Así ha dicho Jehová: No engañéis vuestras almas, diciendo: Sin duda los Caldeos se han ido de nosotros: porque no se irán.	Jeremiah 37:9 The Lord has said, Have no false hopes, saying to yourselves, The Chaldaeans will go away from us: for they will not go away.
Jeremías 37:10 Porque aun cuando hirieseis todo el ejército de los Caldeos que pelean con vosotros, y quedasen de ellos hombres alanceados, cada uno se levantará de su tienda, y pondrán esta ciudad á fuego.	Jeremiah 37:10 For even if you had overcome all the army of the Chaldaeans fighting against you, and there were only wounded men among them, still they would get up, every man in his tent, and put this town on fire.
Jeremías 37:11 Y aconteció que, como el ejército de los Caldeos se fué de Jerusalem á causa del ejército de Faraón,	Jeremiah 37:11 And it came about that when the Chaldaean army outside Jerusalem had gone away for fear of Pharaoh's army,
Jeremías 37:12 Salíase de Jerusalem Jeremías para irse á tierra de Benjamín, para apartarse de allí en medio del pueblo.	Jeremiah 37:12 Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, with the purpose of taking up his heritage there among the people.
Jeremías 37:13 Y cuando fué á la puerta de Benjamín, estaba allí un prepósito que se llamaba Irías, hijo de Selemías hijo de Hananías, el cual prendió á Jeremías profeta, diciendo: Fnatú te retiras á los Caldeos.	Jeremiah 37:13 But when he was at the Benjamin door, a captain of the watch named Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah, who was stationed there, put his hand on Jeremiah the prophet, saying, You are going to give yourself up to the Chaldaeans.
Jeremías 37:14 Y Jeremías dijo: Falso: no me retiro á los Caldeos. Mas él no lo escuchó, antes prendió Irías á Jeremías, y llevólo delante de los príncipes.	Jeremiah 37:14 Then Jeremiah said, That is not true; I am not going to the Chaldaeans. But he would not give ear to him: so Irijah made him prisoner and took him to the rulers.
Jeremías 37:15 Y los príncipes se airaron contra Jeremías, y azotáronle, y pusiéronle en prisión en la casa de Jonathán escriba, porque aquélla habían hecho casa de cárcel.	Jeremiah 37:15 And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah, and gave him blows and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison.
Jeremías 37:16 Entró pues Jeremías en la casa de la mazmorra, y en las camarillas. Y habiendo estado allá Jeremías por muchos días,	Jeremiah 37:16 So Jeremiah came into the hole of the prison, under the arches, and was there for a long time.
Jeremías 37:17 El rey Sedechîas envió, y sacóle; y preguntóle el rey escondidamente en su casa, y dijo: ¿Hay palabra de Jehová? Y Jeremías dijo: Hay. Y dijo más: En mano del rey de Babilonia serás entregado.	Jeremiah 37:17 Then King Zedekiah sent and got him out: and the king, questioning him secretly in his house, said, Is there any word from the Lord? And Jeremiah said, There is. Then he said, You will be given up into the hands of the king of Babylon.
Jeremías 37:18 Dijo también Jeremías al rey Sedechîas: ¿En qué pequé contra ti, y contra tus siervos, y contra este pueblo, para que me pusieseis en la casa de la cárcel?	Jeremiah 37:18 Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, What has been my sin against you or against your servants or against this people, that you have put me in prison?
Jeremías 37:19 ¿Y dónde están vuestros profetas que os profetizaban, diciendo: No vendrá el rey de Babilonia contra vosotros, ni contra esta tierra?	Jeremiah 37:19 Where now are your prophets who said to you, The king of Babylon will not come against you and against this land?
Jeremías 37:20 Ahora pues, oye, te ruego, oh rey mi señor: caiga ahora mi súplica delante de ti, y no me hagas volver á casa de Jonathán escriba, porque no me muera allí.	Jeremiah 37:20 And now be pleased to give ear, O my lord the king; let my prayer for help come before you, and do not make me go back to the house of Jonathan the scribe, for fear that I may come to my death there.
Jeremías 37:21 Entonces dió orden el rey Sedechîas, y depositaron á Jeremías en el patio de la cárcel, haciéndole dar una torta de pan al día, de la plaza de los Panaderos, hasta que todo el pan de la ciudad se gastase. Y quedó Jeremías en el patio de la cárcel.	Jeremiah 37:21 Then by the order of Zedekiah the king, Jeremiah was put into the place of the armed watchmen, and they gave him every day a cake of bread from the street of the bread-makers, till all the bread in the town was used up. So Jeremiah was kept in the place of the armed watchmen.
