| Y Acontecio en los días de Amraphel, rey de Shinar, Arioch, rey de Elazar, Chêdorlaomer, rey de Elá, y Tidal, rey de naciones, | Now in the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar, Arioch, king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal, king of Goiim, |
| Que éstos hicieron guerra contra Bera, rey de Sodoma, y contra Birsha, rey de Gomorra, y contra Shinab, rey de Adma, y contra Shemeber, rey de Zeboim, y contra el rey de Bela, la cual es Zoar. | They made war with Bera, king of Sodom, and with Birsha, king of Gomorrah, Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (which is Zoar). |
| Todos estos se juntaron en el valle de Siddim, que es el mar salado. | All these came together in the valley of Siddim (which is the Salt Sea). |
| Doce años habían servido á Chêdorlaomer, y al décimotercio año se rebelaron. | For twelve years they were under the rule of Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they put off his control. |
| Y en el año décimocuarto vino Chêdorlaomer, y los reyes que estaban de su parte, y derrotaron á los Raphaitas en Ashteroth-carnaim, á los Zuzitas en Ham, y á los Emitas en Shave-Kiriataim. | And in the fourteenth year, Chedorlaomer and the kings who were on his side, overcame the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh-kiriathaim, |
| Y á los Horeos en el monte de Seir, hasta la llanura de Parán, que está junto al desierto. | And the Horites in their mountain Seir, driving them as far as El-paran, which is near the waste land. |
| Y volvieron y vinieron á Emmisphat, que es Cades, y devastaron todas las haciendas de los Amalacitas, y también al Amorrheo, que habitaba en Hazezón-tamar. | Then they came back to En-mishpat (which is Kadesh), making waste all the country of the Amalekites and of the Amorites living in Hazazon-tamar. |
| Y salió el rey de Sodoma, y el rey de Gomorra, y el rey de Adma, y el rey de Zeboim, y el rey de Bela, que es Zoar, y ordenaron contra ellos batalla en el valle de Siddim; | And the king of Sodom with the king of Gomorrah and the king of Admah and the king of Zeboiim and the king of Bela (that is Zoar), went out, and put their forces in position in the valley of Siddim, |
| Es á saber, contra Chêdorlaomer, rey de Elam, y Tidal, rey de naciones, y Amraphel, rey de Shinar, y Arioch, rey de Elasar; cuatro reyes contra cinco. | Against Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal, king of Goiim, and Amraphel, king of Shinar, and Arioch, king of Ellasar: four kings against the five. |
| Y el valle de Siddim estaba lleno de pozos de betún: y huyeron el rey de Sodoma y el de Gomorra, y cayeron allí; y los demás huyeron al monte. | Now the valley of Siddim was full of holes of sticky earth; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah were put to flight and came to their end there, but the rest got away to the mountain. |
| Y tomaron toda la riqueza de Sodoma y de Gomorra, y todas sus vituallas, y se fueron. | And the four kings took all the goods and food from Sodom and Gomorrah and went on their way. |
| Tomaron también á Lot, hijo del hermano de Abram, que moraba en Sodoma, y su hacienda, y se fueron. | And in addition they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who was living in Sodom, and all his goods. |
| Y vino uno de los que escaparon, y denunciólo á Abram el Hebreo, que habitaba en el valle de Mamre Amorrheo, hermano de Eschôl y hermano de Aner, los cuales estaban confederados con Abram. | And one who had got away from the fight came and gave word of it to Abram the Hebrew, who was living by the holy tree of Mamre, the Amorite, the brother of Eshcol and Aner, who were friends of Abram. |
| Y oyó Abram que su hermano estaba prisionero, y armó sus criados, los criados de su casa, trescientos dieciocho, y siguiólos hasta Dan. | And Abram, hearing that his brother's son had been made a prisoner, took a band of his trained men, three hundred and eighteen of them, sons of his house, and went after them as far as Dan. |
| Y derramóse sobre ellos de noche él y sus siervos, é hiriólos, y fuélos siguiendo hasta Hobah, que está á la izquierda de Damasco. | And separating his forces by night, he overcame them, putting them to flight and going after them as far as Hobah, which is on the north side of Damascus. |
| Y recobró todos los bienes, y también á Lot su hermano y su hacienda, y también las mujeres y gente. | And he got back all the goods, and Lot, his brother's son, with his goods and the women and the people. |
| Y salió el rey de Sodoma á recibirlo, cuando volvía de la derrota de Chêdorlaomer y de los reyes que con él estaban, al valle de Shave, que es el valle del Rey. | And when he was coming back after putting to flight Chedorlaomer and the other kings, he had a meeting with the king of Sodom in the valley of Shaveh, that is, the King's Valley. |
| Entonces Melchîsedec, rey de Salem, sacó pan y vino; el cual era sacerdote del Dios alto; | And Melchizedek, king of Salem, the priest of the Most High God, took bread and wine, |
| Y bendíjole, y dijo: Bendito sea Abram del Dios alto, poseedor de los cielos y de la tierra; | And blessing him, said, May the blessing of the Most High God, maker of heaven and earth, be on Abram: |
| Y bendito sea el Dios alto, que entregó tus enemigos en tu mano. Y dióle Abram los diezmos de todo. | And let the Most High God be praised, who has given into your hands those who were against you. Then Abram gave him a tenth of all the goods he had taken. |
| Entonces el rey de Sodoma dijo á Abram: Dame las personas, y toma para ti la hacienda. | And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the prisoners and take the goods for yourself. |
| Y respondió Abram al rey de Sodoma: He alzado mi mano á Jehová Dios alto, poseedor de los cielos y de la tierra, | But Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have taken an oath to the Lord, the Most High God, maker of heaven and earth, |
| Que desde un hilo hasta la correa de un calzado, nada tomaré de todo lo que es tuyo, porque no digas: Yo enriquecí á Abram: | That I will not take so much as a thread or the cord of a shoe of yours; so that you may not say, I have given wealth to Abram: |
| Sacando solamente lo que comieron los mancebos, y la porción de los varones que fueron conmigo, Aner, Eschôl, y Mamre; los cuales tomarán su parte. | Give me nothing but the food which the fighting-men who went with me have had; but let Aner and Eshcol and Mamre have their part of the goods. |
