I Samuel 1:1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim, a Zuphite of the hill-country of Ephraim, named Elkanah; he was the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite:	I Samuel 1:1 Hubo un varón de Ramathaim de Sophim, del monte de Ephraim, que se llamaba Elcana, hijo de Jeroham, hijo de Eliú, hijo de Thohu, hijo de Suph, Ephrateo.
I Samuel 1:2 And he had two wives, one named Hannah and the other Peninnah: and Peninnah was the mother of children, but Hannah had no children.	I Samuel 1:2 Y tenía él dos mujeres; el nombre de la una era Anna, y el nombre de la otra Peninna. Y Peninna tenía hijos, mas Anna no los tenía.
I Samuel 1:3 Now this man went up from his town every year to give worship and to make offerings to the Lord of armies in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there.	I Samuel 1:3 Y subía aquel varón todos los años de su ciudad, á adorar y sacrificar á Jehová de los ejércitos en Silo, donde estaban dos hijos de Eli, Ophni y Phinees, sacerdotes de Jehová.
I Samuel 1:4 And when the day came for Elkanah to make his offering, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and daughters, their part of the feast:	I Samuel 1:4 Y cuando venía el día, Elcana sacrificaba, y daba á Peninna su mujer, y á todos sus hijos y á todas sus hijas, á cada uno su parte.
I Samuel 1:5 But to Hannah he gave one part, though Hannah was very dear to him, but the Lord had not let her have children.	I Samuel 1:5 Mas á Anna daba una parte escogida; porque amaba á Anna, aunque Jehová había cerrado su matriz.
I Samuel 1:6 And the other wife did everything possible to make her unhappy, because the Lord had not let her have children;	I Samuel 1:6 Y su competidora la irritaba, enojándola y entristeciéndola, porque Jehová había cerrado su matriz.
I Samuel 1:7 And year by year, whenever she went up to the house of the Lord, she kept on attacking her, so that Hannah gave herself up to weeping and would take no food.	I Samuel 1:7 Y así hacía cada año: cuando subía á la casa de Jehová, enojaba así á la otra; por lo cual ella lloraba, y no comía.
I Samuel 1:8 Then her husband Elkanah said to her, Hannah, why are you weeping? and why are you taking no food? why is your heart troubled? am I not more to you than ten sons?	I Samuel 1:8 Y Elcana su marido le dijo: Anna, ¿por qué lloras? ¿y por qué no comes? ¿y por qué está afligido tu corazón? ¿No te soy yo mejor que diez hijos?
I Samuel 1:9 So after they had taken food and wine in the guest room, Hannah got up. Now Eli the priest was seated by the pillars of the doorway of the Temple of the Lord.	I Samuel 1:9 Y levantóse Anna después que hubo comido y bebido en Silo; y mientras el sacerdote Eli estaba sentado en una silla junto á un pilar del templo de Jehová,
I Samuel 1:10 And with grief in her soul, weeping bitterly, she made her prayer to the Lord.	I Samuel 1:10 Ella con amargura de alma oró á Jehová, y lloró abundantemente.
I Samuel 1:11 And she made an oath, and said, O Lord of armies, if you will truly take note of the sorrow of your servant, not turning away from me but keeping me in mind, and will give me a man-child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.	I Samuel 1:11 E hizo voto, diciendo: Jehová de los ejércitos, si te dignares mirar la aflicción de tu sierva, y te acordares de mí, y no te olvidares de tu sierva, mas dieres á tu sierva un hijo varón, yo lo dedicaré á Jehová todos los días de su vida, y no subirá navaja sobre su cabeza.
I Samuel 1:12 Now while she was a long time in prayer before the Lord, Eli was watching her mouth.	I Samuel 1:12 Y fué que como ella orase largamente delante de Jehová, Eli estaba observando la boca de ella.
I Samuel 1:13 For Hannah's prayer came from her heart, and though her lips were moving she made no sound: so it seemed to Eli that she was overcome with wine.	I Samuel 1:13 Mas Anna hablaba en su corazón, y solamente se movían sus labios, y su voz no se oía; y túvola Eli por borracha.
I Samuel 1:14 And Eli said to her, How long are you going to be the worse for drink? Put away the effects of your wine from you.	I Samuel 1:14 Entonces le dijo Eli: ¿Hasta cuándo estarás borracha?; digiere tu vino.
I Samuel 1:15 And Hannah, answering him, said, No, my lord, I am a woman whose spirit is broken with sorrow: I have not taken wine or strong drink, but I have been opening my heart before the Lord.	I Samuel 1:15 Y Anna le respondió, diciendo: No, señor mío: mas yo soy una mujer trabajada de espíritu: no he bebido vino ni sidra, sino que he derramado mi alma delante de Jehová.
I Samuel 1:16 Do not take your servant to be a good-for-nothing woman: for my words have come from my stored-up sorrow and pain.	I Samuel 1:16 No tengas á tu sierva por una mujer impía: porque por la magnitud de mis congojas y de mi aflicción he hablado hasta ahora.
I Samuel 1:17 Then Eli said to her, Go in peace: and may the God of Israel give you an answer to the prayer you have made to him.	I Samuel 1:17 Y Eli respondió, y dijo: Ve en paz, y el Dios de Israel te otorgue la petición que le has hecho.
I Samuel 1:18 And she said, May your servant have grace in your eyes. So the woman went away, and took part in the feast, and her face was no longer sad.	I Samuel 1:18 Y ella dijo: Halle tu sierva gracia delante de tus ojos. Y fuése la mujer su camino, y comió, y no estuvo más triste.
I Samuel 1:19 And early in the morning they got up, and after worshipping before the Lord they went back to Ramah, to their house: and Elkanah had connection with his wife; and the Lord kept her in mind.	I Samuel 1:19 Y levantándose de mañana, adoraron delante de Jehová, y volviéronse, y vinieron á su casa en Ramatha. Y Elcana conoció á Anna su mujer, y Jehová se acordó de ella.
I Samuel 1:20 Now the time came when Hannah, being with child, gave birth to a son; and she gave him the name Samuel, Because, she said, I made a prayer to the Lord for him.	I Samuel 1:20 Y fué que corrido el tiempo, después de haber concebido Anna, parió un hijo, y púsole por nombre Samuel, diciendo: Por cuanto lo demandé á Jehová.
I Samuel 1:21 And the man Elkanah with all his family went up to make the year's offering to the Lord, and to give effect to his oath.	I Samuel 1:21 Después subió el varón Elcana, con toda su familia, á sacrificar á Jehová el sacrificio acostumbrado, y su voto.
I Samuel 1:22 But Hannah did not go, for she said to her husband, I will not go till the child has been taken from the breast, and then I will take him with me and put him before the Lord, where he may be for ever.	I Samuel 1:22 Mas Anna no subió, sino dijo á su marido: Yo no subiré hasta que el niño sea destetado; para que lo lleve y sea presentado delante de Jehová, y se quede allá para siempre.
I Samuel 1:23 And her husband Elkanah said to her, Do whatever seems right to you, but not till you have taken him from the breast; only may the Lord do as he has said. So the woman, waiting there, gave her son milk till he was old enough to be taken from the breast.	I Samuel 1:23 Y Elcana su marido le respondió: Haz lo que bien te pareciere; quédate hasta que lo destetes; solamente Jehová cumpla su palabra. Y quedóse la mujer, y crió su hijo hasta que lo destetó.
I Samuel 1:24 Then when she had done so, she took him with her, with a three-year old ox and an ephah of meal and a skin full of wine, and took him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh: now the child was still very young.	I Samuel 1:24 Y después que lo hubo destetado, llevólo consigo, con tres becerros, y un epha de harina, y una vasija de vino, y trájolo á la casa de Jehová en Silo: y el niño era pequeño.
I Samuel 1:25 And when they had made an offering of the ox, they took the child to Eli.	I Samuel 1:25 Y matando el becerro, trajeron el niño á Eli.
I Samuel 1:26 And she said, O my lord, as your soul is living, my lord, I am that woman who was making a prayer to the Lord here by your side:	I Samuel 1:26 Y ella dijo: ¡Oh, señor mío! vive tu alma, señor mío, yo soy aquella mujer que estuvo aquí junto á ti orando á Jehová.
I Samuel 1:27 My prayer was for this child; and the Lord has given him to me in answer to my request:	I Samuel 1:27 Por este niño oraba, y Jehová me dió lo que le pedí.
I Samuel 1:28 So I have given him to the Lord; for all his life he is the Lord's. Then he gave the Lord worship there.	I Samuel 1:28 Yo pues le vuelvo también á Jehová: todos los días que viviere, será de Jehová. Y adoró allí á Jehová.
