Genesis 32:1 And on his way Jacob came face to face with the angels of God.	Génesis 32:1 Y Jacob se fué su camino, y saliéronle al encuentro ángeles de Dios.
Genesis 32:2 And when he saw them he said, This is the army of God: so he gave that place the name of Mahanaim.	Génesis 32:2 Y dijo Jacob cuando los vió: El campo de Dios es este: y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Mahanaim.
Genesis 32:3 Now Jacob sent servants before him to Esau, his brother, in the land of Seir, the country of Edom;	Génesis 32:3 Y envió Jacob mensajeros delante de sí á Esaú su hermano, á la tierra de Seir, campo de Edom.
Genesis 32:4 And he gave them orders to say these words to Esau: Your servant Jacob says, Till now I have been living with Laban:	Génesis 32:4 Y mandóles diciendo: Así diréis á mí señor Esaú: Así dice tu siervo Jacob: Con Labán he morado, y detenídome hasta ahora;
Genesis 32:5 And I have oxen and asses and flocks and men-servants and women-servants: and I have sent to give my lord news of these things so that I may have grace in his eyes.	Génesis 32:5 Y tengo vacas, y asnos, y ovejas, y siervos y siervas; y envío á decirlo á mi señor, por hallar gracia en tus ojos.
Genesis 32:6 When the servants came back they said, We have seen your brother Esau and he is coming out to you, and four hundred men with him.	Génesis 32:6 Y los mensajeros volvieron á Jacob, diciendo: Vinimos á tu hermano Esaú, y él también vino á recibirte, y cuatrocientos hombres con él.
Genesis 32:7 Then Jacob was in great fear and trouble of mind: and he put all the people and the flocks and the herds and the camels into two groups;	Génesis 32:7 Entonces Jacob tuvo gran temor, y angustióse; y partió el pueblo que tenía consigo, y las ovejas y las vacas y los camellos, en dos cuadrillas;
Genesis 32:8 And said, If Esau, meeting one group, makes an attack on them, the others will get away safely.	Génesis 32:8 Y dijo: Si viniere Esaú á la una cuadrilla y la hiriere, la otra cuadrilla escapará.
Genesis 32:9 Then Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, the God of my father Isaac, the Lord who said to me, Go back to your country and your family and I will be good to you:	Génesis 32:9 Y dijo Jacob: Dios de mi padre Abraham, y Dios de mi padre Isaac, Jehová, que me dijiste: Vuélvete á tu tierra y á tu parentela, y yo te haré bien.
Genesis 32:10 I am less than nothing in comparison with all your mercies and your faith to me your servant; for with only my stick in my hand I went across Jordan, and now I have become two armies.	Génesis 32:10 Menor soy que todas las misericordias, y que toda la verdad que has usado para con tu siervo; que con mi bordón pasé este Jordán, y ahora estoy sobre dos cuadrillas.
Genesis 32:11 Be my saviour from the hand of Esau, my brother: for my fear is that he will make an attack on me, putting to death mother and child.	Génesis 32:11 Líbrame ahora de la mano de mi hermano, de la mano de Esaú, porque le temo; no venga quizá, y me hiera la madre con los hijos.
Genesis 32:12 And you said, Truly, I will be good to you, and make your seed like the sand of the sea which may not be numbered.	Génesis 32:12 Y tú has dicho: Yo te haré bien, y pondré tu simiente como la arena del mar, que no se puede contar por la multitud.
Genesis 32:13 Then he put up his tent there for the night; and from among his goods he took, as an offering for his brother Esau,	Génesis 32:13 Y durmió allí aquella noche, y tomó de lo que le vino á la mano un presente para su hermano Esaú.
Genesis 32:14 Two hundred she-goats and twenty he-goats, two hundred females and twenty males from the sheep,	Génesis 32:14 Doscientas cabras y veinte machos de cabrío, doscientas ovejas y veinte carneros,
Genesis 32:15 Thirty camels with their young ones, forty cows, ten oxen, twenty asses, and ten young asses.	Génesis 32:15 Treinta camellas paridas, con sus hijos, cuarenta vacas y diez novillos, veinte asnas y diez borricos.
Genesis 32:16 These he gave to his servants, every herd by itself, and he said to his servants, Go on before me, and let there be a space between one herd and another.	Génesis 32:16 Y entrególo en mano de sus siervos, cada manada de por sí; y dijo á sus siervos: Pasad delante de mí, y poned espacio entre manada y manada.
Genesis 32:17 And he gave orders to the first, saying, When my brother Esau comes to you and says, Whose servant are you, and where are you going, and whose are these herds?	Génesis 32:17 Y mandó al primero, diciendo: Si Esaú mi hermano te encontrare, y te preguntare, diciendo ¿De quién eres? ¿y adónde vas? ¿y para quién es esto que llevas delante de ti?
Genesis 32:18 Then say to him, These are your servant Jacob's; they are an offering for my lord, for Esau; and he himself is coming after us.	Génesis 32:18 Entonces dirás: Presente es de tu siervo Jacob, que envía á mi señor Esaú; y he aquí también él viene tras nosotros.
Genesis 32:19 And he gave the same orders to the second and the third and to all those who were with the herds, saying, This is what you are to say to Esau when you see him;	Génesis 32:19 Y mandó también al segundo, y al tercero, y á todos los que iban tras aquellas manadas, diciendo: Conforme á esto hablaréis á Esaú, cuando le hallareis.
Genesis 32:20 And you are to say further, Jacob, your servant, is coming after us. For he said to himself, I will take away his wrath by the offering which I have sent on, and then I will come before him: it may be that I will have grace in his eyes.	Génesis 32:20 Y diréis también: He aquí tu siervo Jacob viene tras nosotros. Porque dijo: Apaciguaré su ira con el presente que va delante de mí, y después veré su rostro: quizá le seré acepto.
Genesis 32:21 So the servants with the offerings went on in front, and he himself took his rest that night in the tents with his people.	Génesis 32:21 Y pasó el presente delante de él; y él durmió aquella noche en el campamento.
Genesis 32:22 And in the night he got up, and taking with him his two wives and the two servant-women and his eleven children, he went over the river Jabbok.	Génesis 32:22 Y levantóse aquella noche, y tomó sus dos mujeres, y sus dos siervas, y sus once hijos, y pasó el vado de Jaboc.
Genesis 32:23 He took them and sent them over the stream with all he had.	Génesis 32:23 Tomólos pues, y pasólos el arroyo, é hizo pasar lo que tenía.
Genesis 32:24 Then Jacob was by himself; and a man was fighting with him till dawn.	Génesis 32:24 Y quedóse Jacob solo, y luchó con él un varón hasta que rayaba el alba.
Genesis 32:25 But when the man saw that he was not able to overcome Jacob, he gave him a blow in the hollow part of his leg, so that his leg was damaged.	Génesis 32:25 Y como vió que no podía con él, tocó en el sitio del encaje de su muslo, y descoyuntóse el muslo de Jacob mientras con él luchaba.
Genesis 32:26 And he said to him, Let me go now, for the dawn is near. But Jacob said, I will not let you go till you have given me your blessing.	Génesis 32:26 Y dijo: Déjame, que raya el alba. Y él dijo: No te dejaré, si no me bendices.
Genesis 32:27 Then he said, What is your name? And he said, Jacob.	Génesis 32:27 Y él le dijo: ¿Cuál es tu nombre? Y él respondió: Jacob.
Genesis 32:28 And he said, Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel: for in your fight with God and with men you have overcome.	Génesis 32:28 Y él dijo: No se dirá más tu nombre Jacob, sino Israel: porque has peleado con Dios y con los hombres, y has vencido.
Genesis 32:29 Then Jacob said, What is your name? And he said, What is my name to you? Then he gave him a blessing.	Génesis 32:29 Entonces Jacob le preguntó, y dijo: Declárame ahora tu nombre. Y él respondió: ¿Por qué preguntas por mi nombre? Y bendíjolo allí.
Genesis 32:30 And Jacob gave that place the name of Peniel, saying, I have seen God face to face, and still I am living.	Génesis 32:30 Y llamó Jacob el nombre de aquel lugar Peniel: porque vi á Dios cara á cara, y fué librada mi alma.
Genesis 32:31 And while he was going past Peniel, the sun came up. And he went with unequal steps because of his damaged leg.	Génesis 32:31 Y salióle el sol pasado que hubo á Peniel; y cojeaba de su anca.
Genesis 32:32 For this reason the children of Israel, even today, never take that muscle in the hollow of the leg as food, because the hollow of Jacob's leg was touched.	Génesis 32:32 Por esto no comen los hijos de Israel, hasta hoy día, del tendón que se contrajo, el cual está en el encaje del muslo: porque tocó á Jacob este sitio de su muslo en el tendón que se contrajo.
