Exodus 1:1 Now these are the names of the sons of Israel who came into Egypt; every man and his family came with Jacob.	Исход 1:1 Вот имена сынов Израилевых, которые вошли в Египет с Иаковом, вошли каждый с домом своим:
Exodus 1:2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah;	Исход 1:2 Рувим, Симеон, Левий и Иуда,
Exodus 1:3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin;	Исход 1:3 Иссахар, Завулон и Вениамин,
Exodus 1:4 Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher.	Исход 1:4 Дан и Неффалим, Гад и Асир.
Exodus 1:5 All the offspring of Jacob were seventy persons: and Joseph had come to Egypt before them.	Исход 1:5 Всех же душ, происшедших от чресл Иакова, было семьдесят, а Иосиф был [уже] в Египте.
Exodus 1:6 Then Joseph came to his end, and all his brothers, and all that generation.	Исход 1:6 И умер Иосиф и все братья его и весь род их;
Exodus 1:7 And the children of Israel were fertile, increasing very greatly in numbers and in power; and the land was full of them.	Исход 1:7 а сыны Израилевы расплодились и размножились, и возросли и усилились чрезвычайно, и наполнилась ими земля та.
Exodus 1:8 Now a new king came to power in Egypt, who had no knowledge of Joseph.	Исход 1:8 И восстал в Египте новый царь, который не знал Иосифа,
Exodus 1:9 And he said to his people, See, the people of Israel are greater in number and in power than we are:	Исход 1:9 и сказал народу своему: вот, народ сынов Израилевых многочислен и сильнее нас;
Exodus 1:10 Let us take care for fear that their numbers may become even greater, and if there is a war, they may be joined with those who are against us, and make an attack on us, and go up out of the land.	Исход 1:10 перехитрим же его, чтобы он не размножался; иначе, когда случится война, соединится и он с нашими неприятелями, и вооружится против нас, и выйдет из земли [нашей].
Exodus 1:11 So they put overseers of forced work over them, in order to make their strength less by the weight of their work. And they made store-towns for Pharaoh, Pithom and Raamses.	Исход 1:11 И поставили над ним начальников работ, чтобы изнуряли его тяжкими работами. И он построил фараону Пифом и Раамсес, города для запасов.
Exodus 1:12 But the more cruel they were to them, the more their number increased, till all the land was full of them. And the children of Israel were hated by the Egyptians.	Исход 1:12 Но чем более изнуряли его, тем более он умножался и тем более возрастал, так что опасались сынов Израилевых.
Exodus 1:13 And they gave the children of Israel even harder work to do:	Исход 1:13 И потому Египтяне с жестокостью принуждали сынов Израилевых к работам
Exodus 1:14 And made their lives bitter with hard work, making building-material and bricks, and doing all sorts of work in the fields under the hardest conditions.	Исход 1:14 и делали жизнь их горькою от тяжкой работы над глиною и кирпичами и от всякой работы полевой, от всякой работы, к которой принуждали их с жестокостью.
Exodus 1:15 And the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew women who gave help at the time of childbirth (the name of the one was Shiphrah and the name of the other Puah),	Исход 1:15 Царь Египетский повелел повивальным бабкам Евреянок, из коих одной имя Шифра, а другой Фуа,
Exodus 1:16 When you are looking after the Hebrew women in childbirth, if it is a son you are to put him to death; but if it is a daughter, she may go on living.	Исход 1:16 и сказал: когда вы будете повивать у Евреянок, то наблюдайте при родах: если будет сын, то умерщвляйте его, а если дочь, то пусть живет.
Exodus 1:17 But the women had the fear of God, and did not do as the king of Egypt said, but let the male children go on living.	Исход 1:17 Но повивальные бабки боялись Бога и не делали так, как говорил им царь Египетский, и оставляли детей в живых.
Exodus 1:18 And the king of Egypt sent for the women, and said to them, Why have you done this, and let the male children go on living?	Исход 1:18 Царь Египетский призвал повивальных бабок и сказал им: для чего вы делаете такое дело, что оставляете детей в живых?
Exodus 1:19 And they said to Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women, for they are strong, and the birth takes place before we come to them.	Исход 1:19 Повивальные бабки сказали фараону: Еврейские женщины не так, как Египетские; они здоровы, ибо прежде нежели придет к ним повивальная бабка, они уже рождают.
Exodus 1:20 And the blessing of God was on these women: and the people were increased in number and became very strong.	Исход 1:20 За сие Бог делал добро повивальным бабкам, а народ умножался и весьма усиливался.
Exodus 1:21 And because the women who took care of the Hebrew mothers had the fear of God, he gave them families.	Исход 1:21 И так как повивальные бабки боялись Бога, то Он устроял домы их.
Exodus 1:22 And Pharaoh gave orders to all his people, saying, Every son who comes to birth is to be put into the river, but every daughter may go on living.	Исход 1:22 Тогда фараон всему народу своему повелел, говоря: всякого новорожденного [у Евреев] сына бросайте в реку, а всякую дочь оставляйте в живых.
