Psalms 55:1 ^
To the chief music-maker, on Neginoth. Maschil. Of David.Give hearing to my prayer, O God; and let not your ear be shut against my request.
Salmi 55:1 ^
Per il Capo de’ musici. Per strumenti a corda. Cantico di Davide. Porgi orecchio alla mia preghiera o Dio, e non rifiutar di udir la mia supplicazione.
Psalms 55:2 ^
Give thought to me, and let my prayer be answered: I have been made low in sorrow;
Salmi 55:2 ^
Attendi a me, e rispondimi; io non ho requie nel mio lamento, e gemo,
Psalms 55:3 ^
I am troubled because of the voice of the cruel ones, because of the loud cry of the evil-doers; for they put a weight of evil on me, and they are cruel in their hate for me.
Salmi 55:3 ^
per la voce del nemico, per l’oppressione dell’empio; poiché mi gettano addosso delle iniquità e mi perseguitano con furore.
Psalms 55:4 ^
My heart is deeply wounded, and the fear of death has come on me.
Salmi 55:4 ^
Il mio cuore spasima dentro di me e spaventi mortali mi son caduti addosso.
Psalms 55:5 ^
Fear and shaking have come over me, with deep fear I am covered.
Salmi 55:5 ^
Paura e tremito m’hanno assalito, e il terrore mi ha sopraffatto;
Psalms 55:6 ^
And I said, If only I had wings like a dove! for then I would go in flight from here and be at rest.
Salmi 55:6 ^
onde ho detto: Oh avess’io delle ali come la colomba! Me ne volerei via, e troverei riposo.
Psalms 55:7 ^
I would go wandering far away, living in the waste land. (Selah.)
Salmi 55:7 ^
Ecco, me ne fuggirei lontano, andrei a dimorar nel deserto; Sela.
Psalms 55:8 ^
I would quickly take cover from the driving storm and from the violent wind.
Salmi 55:8 ^
m’affretterei a ripararmi dal vento impetuoso e dalla tempesta.
Psalms 55:9 ^
Send destruction on them, O Lord, make a division of tongues among them: for I have seen fighting and violent acts in the town.
Salmi 55:9 ^
Annienta, Signore, dividi le loro lingue, poiché io vedo violenza e rissa nella città.
Psalms 55:10 ^
By day and night they go round the town, on the walls; trouble and sorrow are in the heart of it.
Salmi 55:10 ^
Giorno e notte essi fanno la ronda sulle sue mura; dentro di essa sono iniquità e vessazioni.
Psalms 55:11 ^
Evil is there; cruel rule and deceit are ever in the streets.
Salmi 55:11 ^
Malvagità è in mezzo a lei, violenza e frode non si dipartono dalle sue piazze.
Psalms 55:12 ^
For it was not my hater who said evil of me; that would have been no grief to me; it was not one outside the number of my friends who made himself strong against me, or I would have kept myself from him in a secret place;
Salmi 55:12 ^
Poiché non è stato un nemico che mi ha fatto vituperio; altrimenti, l’avrei comportato; non è stato uno che m’odiasse a levarmisi contro; altrimenti, mi sarei nascosto da lui;
Psalms 55:13 ^
But it was you, my equal, my guide, my well-loved friend.
Salmi 55:13 ^
ma sei stato tu, l’uomo ch’io stimavo come mio pari, il mio compagno e il mio intimo amico.
Psalms 55:14 ^
We had loving talk together, and went to the house of God in company.
Salmi 55:14 ^
Insieme avevamo dolci colloqui, insieme ce n’andavamo tra la folla alla casa di Dio.
Psalms 55:15 ^
Let the hand of death come on them suddenly, and let them go down living into the underworld; because evil is in their houses and in their hearts.
Salmi 55:15 ^
Li sorprenda la morte! Scendano vivi nel soggiorno de’ morti! poiché nelle lor dimore e dentro di loro non v’è che malvagità.
Psalms 55:16 ^
As for me, I will make my prayer to God, and he will be my saviour.
Salmi 55:16 ^
Quanto a me: io griderò, a Dio e l’Eterno mi salverà.
Psalms 55:17 ^
In the evening and in the morning and in the middle of the day I will make my prayer with sounds of grief; and my voice will come to his ears.
Salmi 55:17 ^
La sera, la mattina e sul mezzodì mi lamenterò e gemerò, ed egli udrà la mia voce.
Psalms 55:18 ^
He has taken my soul away from the attack which was made against me, and given it peace; for great numbers were against me.
Salmi 55:18 ^
Egli darà pace all’anima mia, riscuotendola dall’assalto che m’è dato, perché sono in molti contro di me.
Psalms 55:19 ^
God will give thought to me; he who from early times is strong will send pain and trouble on them. (Selah.) Because they are unchanged, they have no fear of God.
Salmi 55:19 ^
Iddio udirà e li umilierà, egli che siede sul trono ab antico; Sela. poiché in essi non v’è mutamento, e non temono Iddio.
Psalms 55:20 ^
He has put out his hand against those who were at peace with him; he has not kept his agreement.
Salmi 55:20 ^
Il nemico ha steso la mano contro quelli ch’erano in pace con lui, ha violato il patto concluso.
Psalms 55:21 ^
The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, but they were sharp swords.
Salmi 55:21 ^
La sua bocca è più dolce del burro, ma nel cuore ha la guerra; le sue parole son più morbide dell’olio, ma sono spade sguainate.
Psalms 55:22 ^
Put your cares on the Lord, and he will be your support; he will not let the upright man be moved.
Salmi 55:22 ^
Getta sull’Eterno il tuo peso, ed egli ti sosterrà; egli non permetterà mai che il giusto sia smosso.
Psalms 55:23 ^
But you, O God, will send them down into the underworld; the cruel and the false will be cut off before half their days are ended; but I will have faith in you.
Salmi 55:23 ^
Ma tu, o Dio, farai cader costoro nel profondo della fossa; gli uomini di sangue e di frode non arriveranno alla metà de’ lor giorni; ma io confiderò in te.
