| Of David. To you, O Lord, my soul is lifted up. | Di Davide. A te, o Eterno, io levo l’anima mia. |
| O my God, I have put my faith in you, let me not be shamed; let not my haters be glorying over me. | Dio mio, in te mi confido; fa’ ch’io non sia confuso, che i miei nemici non trionfino di me. |
| Let no servant of yours be put to shame; may those be shamed who are false without cause. | Nessuno di quelli che sperano in te sia confuso; sian confusi quelli che si conducono slealmente senza cagione. |
| Make your steps clear to me, O Lord; give me knowledge of your ways. | O Eterno, fammi conoscere le tue vie, insegnami i tuoi sentieri. |
| Be my guide and teacher in the true way; for you are the God of my salvation; I am waiting for your word all the day. | Guidami nella tua verità ed ammaestrami; poiché tu sei l’Iddio della mia salvezza: io spero in te del continuo. |
| O Lord, keep in mind your pity and your mercies; for they have been from the earliest times. | Ricordati, o Eterno, delle tue compassioni e delle tue benignità, perché sono ab eterno. |
| Do not keep in mind my sins when I was young, or my wrongdoing: let your memory of me be full of mercy, O Lord, because of your righteousness. | Non ti ricordar de’ peccati della mia giovinezza, né delle mie trasgressioni; secondo la tua benignità ricordati di me per amor della tua bontà, o Eterno. |
| Good and upright is the Lord: so he will be the teacher of sinners in the way. | L’Eterno è buono e diritto; perciò insegnerà la via ai peccatori. |
| He will be an upright guide to the poor in spirit: he will make his way clear to them. | Guiderà i mansueti nella giustizia, insegnerà ai mansueti la sua via. |
| All the ways of the Lord are mercy and good faith for those who keep his agreement and his witness. | Tutti i sentieri dell’Eterno sono benignità e verità per quelli che osservano il suo patto e le sue testimonianze. |
| Because of your name, O Lord, let me have forgiveness for my sin, which is very great. | Per amor del tuo nome, o Eterno, perdona la mia iniquità, perch’ella è grande. |
| If a man has the fear of the Lord, the Lord will be his teacher in the way of his pleasure. | Chi è l’uomo che tema l’Eterno? Ei gl’insegnerà la via che deve scegliere. |
| His soul will be full of good things, and his seed will have the earth for its heritage. | L’anima sua dimorerà nel benessere, e la sua progenie erederà la terra. |
| The secret of the Lord is with those in whose hearts is the fear of him; he will make his agreement clear to them. | Il segreto dell’Eterno è per quelli che lo temono, ed egli fa loro conoscere il suo patto. |
| My eyes are turned to the Lord at all times; for he will take my feet out of the net. | I miei occhi son del continuo verso l’Eterno, perch’egli è quel che trarrà i miei piedi dalla rete. |
| Be turned to me, and have mercy on me; for I am troubled and have no helper. | Volgiti a me, ed abbi pietà di me, perch’io son solo ed afflitto. |
| The troubles of my heart are increased: O take me out of my sorrows. | Le angosce del mio cuore si sono aumentate; traimi fuori dalle mie distrette. |
| Give thought to my grief and my pain; and take away all my sins. | Vedi la mia afflizione ed il mio affanno, e perdonami tutti i miei peccati. |
| See how those who are against me are increased, for bitter is their hate of me. | Vedi i miei nemici, perché son molti, e m’odiano d’un odio violento. |
| O keep my soul, and take me out of danger: let me not be shamed, for I have put my faith in you. | Guarda l’anima mia e salvami; fa’ ch’io non sia confuso, perché mi confido in te. |
| For my clean and upright ways keep me safe, because my hope is in you. | L’integrità e la dirittura mi proteggano, perché spero in te. |
| Give Israel salvation, O God, out of all his troubles. | O Dio, libera Israele da tutte le sue tribolazioni. |
