Psalms 129:1 ^
A Song of the going up. Great have been my troubles from the time when I was young (let Israel now say);
Salmi 129:1 ^
Canto dei pellegrinaggi. Molte volte m’hanno oppresso dalla mia giovinezza! Lo dica pure Israele:
Psalms 129:2 ^
Great have been my troubles from the time when I was young, but my troubles have not overcome me.
Salmi 129:2 ^
Molte volte m’hanno oppresso dalla mia giovinezza; eppure, non hanno potuto vincermi.
Psalms 129:3 ^
The ploughmen were ploughing on my back; long were the wounds they made.
Salmi 129:3 ^
Degli aratori hanno arato sul mio dorso, v’hanno tracciato i loro lunghi solchi.
Psalms 129:4 ^
The Lord is true: the cords of the evil-doers are broken in two.
Salmi 129:4 ^
L’Eterno è giusto; egli ha tagliato le funi degli empi.
Psalms 129:5 ^
Let all the haters of Zion be shamed and turned back.
Salmi 129:5 ^
Siano confusi e voltin le spalle tutti quelli che odiano Sion!
Psalms 129:6 ^
Let them be like the grass on the house-tops, which is dry before it comes to full growth.
Salmi 129:6 ^
Siano come l’erba dei tetti, che secca prima di crescere!
Psalms 129:7 ^
He who gets in the grain has no use for it; and they do not make bands of it for the grain-stems.
Salmi 129:7 ^
Non se n’empie la mano il mietitore, né le braccia chi lega i covoni;
Psalms 129:8 ^
And those who go by do not say, The blessing of the Lord be on you; we give you blessing in the name of the Lord.
Salmi 129:8 ^
e i passanti non dicono: La benedizione dell’Eterno sia sopra voi; noi vi benediciamo nel nome dell’Eterno!
